it! Enjoy your own private pool, relax in the hot tub, take in the

the beach, which is just 2 short blocks away. These are just a few

of the many unique features of this wonderful home. Inside, you


enjoy 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a huge great room with cathedral

ceilings and large picture windows. In addition, this home has all

the amenities you are looking for. TV's/VCR's in each bedroom, CD

stereo system, automatic icemaker, dishwasher, microwave,

washer/dryer, BBQ grill, crib and high chair are just some of the

amenities that add to your family's comfort.

Not only is this show place a short walk to the beach, it is just


mile from the Dare Shopping Center (with large grocery store) and is

within walking distance to a miniature golf course and "Goombays",

one of the Outer Banks' favorite places for fresh seafood.

Kill Devil Hills is also centrally located to everything offered on

the Outer Banks. Four historic lighthouses, the Wright Bros.

Memorial, Jockey Ridge State Park, Corolla's wild horses, golf

courses, pier and surf fishing, parasailing, hang gliding, a variety

of water sports and lots of shops are just a sample of the

attractions that will guarantee entertainment for the whole family.

And, at the end of the day, you can return to your own

private "Mermaid Inn" for a carefree evening sitting around the pool, playing corn hole

or enjoying the hot tub. This house truly has it all!

FYIit has 4 bedrooms , 3 with queen beds and the 4th with a daybed and a

pyramid bed with double on the bottom and a twin on top so it should be big have to walk up @ 5 steps from the parking area under house to get to the bottom floor which has the 2 bedrooms and a bathyou walk up @ 5 steps to get to the main level, kitchen dinig room / main room , and bar and @ 5 steps to the upper level bedrooms and bathroom

It is on 1st street which is beach access street which is very convienent. Because if you are not on a beach access road you have to walk up or down the beach road until you come to one to get there you walk out my driveway turn right, walk a short block, you walk past 3 houses short,you cross the beach road and walk to the beach. there is a lifeguard and showers,which is a real bonus because not every access has a shower and there are not alot of lifeguard stationsI give you a cart to roll all your stuff down there in. It is very easy, it is paved all the way. It takes about 4-5 minutes to get to the beachthe house has a large pool area around the pool and a nice size pool which gives kids alot of space to play around out there, believe me I know I have 2 kids It has a hottub out there and Adirondack furniture; 3 chairs a picnic table and 4 mini benches the current pictures do not show the pool very wellI forgot we do not have bedroom pictures on the site my wife needs to put up some new ones. the bedrooms all have matching furniture. they all have a ceiling fans and they all have wall mounted TV's with vcrs and the one in the kids room has a DVD in it I am at a about 7 1/4 milepost

It is 1/4 a mile from dare shopping center which has a food lion grocery store and a pizza place and a bagel place and Belks dept. store and

6 -7 other stores and shops. the movie theaters are 1 mile away as is Kmart. The Wright memorial is less then 2 miles away. you can walk to putt putt, you can see the putt putt from my porch and watch your kids walk to it and Goombays resteraunt is right down on the beach road, you can walk there in @ 4 minutes

John and I have two children, Hayley and Tyler. Hayley is a Junior in college at VT and Tyler is going into his senior year at Tabb HS(currently Aug 2015). John is an account manager for HP and Robin is an Engineer for the Air Force. We both love the beach. Robin's family has a beach house around the corner on Sir Walter Raliegh and we all come together the week of July 4th for a mini family reunion and to watch the great fire works from the beach!

Why John Mills chose Outer Banks

We bought this property due to its central location, great beach access, close attractions, and great layout. Robin's family grew up spending vacations in the Outer Banks and her sisters purchased a property around the corner on Sir Walter in 1998 so when we had the opportunity to buy we wanted to be close to them or around 7 mile post. We love that we can walk or bike to almost anything. There is the bike trail to local airport and Wright memorial, the best putt-putt golf right up the street and best of all, the oceanfront just a small walk down First Street with Lifeguards and showers! First Street beach has great sandbars and provides fun for surfers, wave riders, skim boarders and swimmers. In addition the sunken wreck is a short canoe/kayak/paddle board ride away at Second Street access. Robin loves to walk the dog to the Pier every morning while there and is an avid "sheller" .

What makes this house unique

Location, location, location. This cottage not only has perfect beach access with all the amenities, but it also has the benefits of having great shopping, restaurants, and activities within a 5 miles radius. We even have a local bar/restaurant favorite, "Goombays" a short walk around the corner, shopping at Belk and Food Lion across the street and Avalon Fishing Pier(with Awful Authors across the street!) just 1 mile down the road! We think we have absolutely the best location in OBX. We don't fight the terrible traffic goin to and from Duck/Corolla and can easily get to great attractions like the quaint Town of Manteo, or the beautiful, less populated beaches of Hatteras and Rodanthe, not to mention the great charter fishing opportunties from Oregon Inlet just 30 minutes up the road.

Great rental

I want to say thank you to the Mills for allowing us to rent your home for our vacation. Beautiful home; really enjoyed our time there. only a block and half from beach access; we hope it will be available next year too when we need it. It was very much equipped with anything you would need down to the helpful book with your suggestions of favorite restaurants. I would highly recommend this home to everyone. Thanks!

Wonderful Vacation

We were 6 people (3 families) in this well equipped and comfortable home. Location was excellent one and a half block from beach access and one mile from stores. The pool and hot tub was clean and very enjoyable. One issue was the air conditioner but we contacted the owner and it was taken care of in a timely manner. Would recommend this vacation house.

My wife and I had a very nice getaway for 3 days in your home. We would like to say thank you for opening your home up to us. We enjoyed everything about your home, especially the hot tub. Short walk to beach was perfect for us. Even though we did not use your pool, it was nice to have it just in case we wanted to jump in. We will return here the next time we get a chance for a quick getaway. Thanks again.

Great house, linen service a rip off

The house was great. It was very clean, near lots of attractions and is well furnished. I would recommend bringing your own pillows as the ones provided aren't the greatest. My only complaint is the linen service is a rip off. The sheets and towels are left outside in cases for you to carry in. The sheets seemed to barely fit the mattresses. The towels were worse than what the Marine Corps issued us. All in all, not nearly worth the $130+ it cost to use the service. I would recommend spending the money to buy sheets and towels instead (if you don't have your own). Regardless, the house was great and we would definitely come back.

Owner's Response: I am really glad you liked the house... but I am sorry about the linens and pillows I am going to a new property management company for next year and hopefully they have a better linen service, as for the pillows I buy 8-10 new pillows every spring but for some reason by the end of the season most of the new ones are gone??? this spring I will buy 12 and throw out most of the others thanks again for the nice comments and we hope to have you back again
