About Jim and Reiko Ray
We are originally from Cincinnati, Oh. We moved to south Florida in 2002 and shortly after moving we realized that we really missed the seasons. We had vacationed in the area for Spring Break many times. We had hoped that one day we could have our own piece of this mountain paradise.
Jim and Reiko Ray purchased this Cabin in 2007
Why Jim and Reiko Ray chose Murphy
This is our home away from home. We have all the amenities and comfort of home. All you need is to bring your clothes and get ready to relax!
What makes this Cabin unique
Birds Eye View has a beautiful non obstructed view that is in walking visit to the rivers edge. Also we are 3 miles from John Campbell Folk School and 5 miles from downtown Murphy. All the benefits of being close to civilization but the serenity of the mountains.

Wonderful views of fall colors from this cabin perched on the mountain!
This lovely, comfortable and well-appointed cabin perfectly suited our party, three friends attending John Campbell Folk Art School, just a few miles away. The house was inviting, very comfortable and charming. We’ll hope to stay there again in the future.
Thank you for your kind words. We have had many students of the Folk School this season. We hope to see you back again in the future
Fall Break Get Away
This is a lovely chalet in a really pretty setting. The arrangement of the rooms and bedrooms is convenient and offers privacy. It's nice to have the 2 living spaces as well as the wrap around porch. The chalet isn't isolated as it's a part of a community of chalets but it's facing away from other places and towards the hills. We liked having the views and tranquility of the chalet with the convenience of Murphy only 5-10 minutes away. A great place!
Thank you for the kind words. The cabin does take on a tranquil feel, especially this time of year. If you com back to the Murphy area we hope you think of us.
