Cottage - 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6 total with LR fold out couch.

South Mission Beach - 100 feet to the ocean with a large front patio. Sleeps 4-6 (lower unit).

May combine with upper unit 720 Balboa Ct. 4BR/2BA - sleeps 10-12 (#7009493) for large groups to sleep 14-18 total.

June 1 to Aug. 31 - 7 night min. (Sat. to Sat.)

Easter, Thanksgiving & X-mass 5 night min.

Feb. thru May and Sept. 4 night min.,

Rest is a 3 night min.

Kitchen and master bathroom remodeled in March 2017.

2BR / 2BA unit, 1000 sq. ft., third bldg. from the ocean and 1½ blocks from the bay. The French doors off the dining room open onto a patio which has a partial view of the beach area. The patio has an umbrella table, six chairs, two lounges and a grill.

The master bedroom has a queen bed, master bath has shower/ bathtub. The second bedroom has two twin beds and second bath across hall has a shower. There is a fold out queen couch in the LR which sleeps two.

The kitchen has recently been remodeled and has basic kitchen items for meals and BBQs. There is a dinning room table that seats five. The kitchen, living room and dining room all open onto each other, and to the front patio. There is no AC, but opening all windows to the ocean breeze cools the unit even in summer.

There is a tiny one car garage which can fit a car or small SUV. Stacked washer/dryer in the garage.

Not rented on Craig's List, No A/C.

Grew up in New York State. Attended University of San Diego School of Law and fell in love with San Diego. This beach house started as a family venture with my mother and sister in 2002 and we still take care of all details ourselves.

Why David Catalino chose San Diego County

This beach in South Mission (Lifeguard Tower 10) is the biggest beach area in San Diego. There are volleyball courts and room for any beach game you can think of. You can also find an area of sand all for yourself for sunning.

The property faces south and gets sun on the patio all day long. Sunsets are visable all year long from the beach as the sun sets to the west over the water.

What makes this townhome unique

Large patio to grill and enjoy the sun and your family. Mainly families with young children stay in this area of South Mission Beach as it is away from the roller coaster and the teen action that is a short walk north.

Small garage with parking for one vehicle No Airconditioning - Open all windows and unit will cool down. Washer/dryer in the garage. Beach chairs; boogie boards and sand toys are shared with the upsairs unit. It is a smoke free unit and patio, if you smoke stay else where. Maid sevice upon departure is included.

Nice stay

Nice house with privacy and room to relax. A bit noisy when people are upstairs, but I'm sure there is nothing that can be done about it. It wouldn't hurt to provide a king bed with more than a bed frame in the master bedroom. Bed easily slides around. Bedsheets had a hole in them. Love the living room, kitchen, and dining areas. Nice bathrooms too. Could use more beach towels.

Great location great memories

My family of 5 just had a great week, enjoyed being so close to the beach and walking/biking distanct to so many great places. Access to the beach toys was a huge hit with my kids and the laundry was a huge hit for me. We will be back for sure.

Well appointed, plenty of space to make ourselves at home. Just had to get used to being so close to and hearing the neighbors and having planes fly right overhead every 5 minutes! But that is the price you pay to be a few feet from the beach!

Awesome location and customer service!

My husband and I decided to invite his siblings who live on opposite sides of the country to come to our sunny California for the New Years holiday this year. We knew we would be unable to accommodate nearly 18 people in our little 4 bedroom home so began a search for a rental home that would fit all of them. We found this property on home away and requested to rent both floors (718 and 720). I kind of fumbled about trying to figure out how to reserve the place and even accidentally entered the wrong dates on one of the units. David was such a kind and helpful landlord. He responded to emails and phone calls very quickly and was also very flexible with arrangements. The weather was uncooperative during the week we were there so we spent a lot of time indoors and with that many people we never felt crowded indoors. It was a very short walk to the beach and a short walk to Belmont Park. Plenty of parking spaces as well. Thank you David for all of your help! We had a wonderful and memorable weekend!

Nice Place - Easy to work with

This little cottage has an excellent location! Just a few steps to the ocean or a block to the bay and a few blocks to markets, restaurants, and bars. The cottage has a wonderful patio and a garage filled with beach accessories. The interior is spacious for a 2 bedroom and although it is low on frills, it will meet all of your functional needs. A great place for a couple wanting extra space, a small family, two couples, or a group of friends.

David was incredibly easy to work with and was quite accomodating, which made our stay much less stressful and far more enjoyable.

This cottage is a very good value for the space and location and David is a great host.
