Very nice cabin. Love to listen to the river.

Everything was very nice. My only complaint would be not getting the dvd player to work. Every disc we put in it said it was a bad disc. Not sure if it was the player or operator error. Also there was some garbage under the kitchen sink on the door. Maybe previous renters. But overall it was very nice.

Winter Fun.

Ms Maria our experience at Your place was amazing! Your cabin had everything we needed. Location is great. Close to supermarkets, snowmobile rentals, maybe like 15-20 min away from most of the restaurants. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

And hopefully we will be back soon! Thank you so much Ms Maria.

One recommendation- main bedroom curtain is to light, so morning light was waking us up little bit too early ☺. I think you should change it to something like dark blue or gray.

I truly cannot say enough about this property and Maria (owner)...Our stay at the cabin was so wonderful and relaxing...it was everything and so much more than its presentation...the cabin was clean and the décor was accentuating the cabin feel...the view was superb....the living room and bedrooms were comfortable and clean...the kitchen was stocked with what was needed for our stay, (all we brought was our food)....we were able to bring our dog, Sandi, and she too had a wonderful time...this was our first stay here, and we plan to come back in the Summer months to experience that Season...Maria, thank you for your hospitality...The Sanzari Family of Rochelle Park, New Jersey, appreciate what you offered us...have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I will talk to you the beginning of the New Year for our Summer stay...

The property is magnificent! The cabin is very clean and comfortable. Very relaxing atmosphere.

When we arrived at the cabin we were pleasantly surprised by the overall condition and cleanliness of the cabin and property. We are used to staying at rustic places in Wisconsin where the condition of the cabins leaves a lot to be desired. Maria's cabin is very clean, well maintained and the atmosphere of the place helps you feel very relaxed and comfortable. Various pictures and other works of art are hung throughout the cabin, making the place quite interesting. The cabin is located above a really nice rapid and boulder field on the Schroon River and the constant sound of rushing water adds to the overall atmosphere of the cabin. The privacy is great, with no visible neighbors on either side of the cabin or across the river. The beds were very comfortable, and the fact that the cabin has internet access is great for those who can't get completely away from work. We hope that Maria continues to rent her cabin through VRBO so we can come back soon!

Take me to the River

  • 4 of 5

This house is not too far from the main highway and yet it feels very secluded and its super quiet. The view down to the Schroon River is so nice and relaxing. The house is set up nicely, with a small living room, dining area and kitchen with many amenities. I wish I had gotten a chance to use the wood stove! The central heating responds very quickly. Love the deck off the bedroom and living room, so you can wake up and have coffee overlooking the river and listening to the sounds of the water rushing over the rocks.

Somethings you might not know unless you stay here. It didn't seem like there was a clothes dryer? There was a washing machine in the bathroom and that was it. So if you like your clothes tumble dried this might be an issue for you. Bring paper towels and a box of kleenex if you like to use paper products. There is no garbage pick up, so if you make a lot of trash you will be hauling it to the landfill assuming its open the day you leave. The mattress is somewhat firm, and while I prefer pillow top, it didn't bother me. Although if you change positions in the bed there's a lot of creaking. The bathroom was a tad musty, so crack a window and may be bring a febreeze plugin.. The internet I found slow; adequate for looking stuff up, but not for browsing. While you are there, definitely eat at Lizzie Keays for their Prime Rib night and if you make it down to Saratoga Springs go to Druthers for their Pretzels and Beer Cheese. Also take note the path down to the river is not for the faint of heart and is awaiting repairs. While you don't need to be a hiker you need to have your wits about you and be very careful cause it's pretty steep and the ground is crumbley. I would not recommend kids/older people/people with injuries going at it alone. Maria was very nice and accommodating during the whole process.

For me, my major concerns are quiet, cleanliness, and comfort- and this did not disappoint. The view and sounds of the Schroon will take most of your cares away.

Peaceful and uplifting...

  • 4 of 5

My family and I rented the cabin in mid July, 2016.

Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc ?

The cabin had everything we needed and more. We did cook in must of the time. There are few supermarkets withing 30 min. of the cabin. The washing machine and dryer were working fine.

Was the property clean and well-maintained ?

The cabin was clean and well-maintained. Few MINOR items were in need of attention, Ex. the master bedroom curtain allows morning light in and the cabin gets a bit warm during the day.

Did the owner provide good customer service ?

Yes, we had trouble finding the key and we were able to talk and solve the issue.

Would you recommend this property to your friends or relatives ?

I would both recommend and use the cabin again.

What activities, attractions and restaurants did you like or dislike near by ?

We visited and had a great time at Lake George Village, The Natural Stone Bridge, The beach at Hague and fort Ticonderoga, We also drove to NH and visited Polar Caves and Lost river gorge.
