Another year, another GREAT time.

We have been coming to these wonderful homes since 2005. We started out as five couples renting the "Lake-n-Logs" home. In 2010, we added three more couples that rent the "Cabin on the Cove". Both homes are always clean and have plenty of utensils so we don't have to bring much more than the food and drink. ALWAYS A GREAT TIME!!!

Great House in a Great Lake Location

  • 5 of 5

Great location that is very close to Moors Resort for boat rentals and other activities. Recommend bringing your own food options, as there isn't too many options nearby. House was very clean upon arrival, and the owner was extremely accommodating.

Perfect house for a vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

On August 18 my family, ages 1 to 65, arrived at Cabin on the Cove for an extended weekend. When we pulled up we were shocked at how nice and big the driveway is. We were able to easily park 2 trucks with boats and trailers plus two additional cars. There was even room for more.

Once we entered the house we noticed it was clean with a well stocked kitchen and a second refrigerator in the lower level. It has 3 different gathering areas, living room on the main level, family game/TV room on the lower level and the wonderful screened in porch overlooking the lake so we were able to have quiet areas if the babies were sleeping and areas for fun family games. Tim and Jane seem to have thought of everything needed for a fun weekend, including the air hockey table, pool table, the fire pit that we used to enjoy s'mores and a guitar led sing-a-long and a grill we used one night for brats and the next night for grilled salmon. Having a boat dock almost right outside the back door was also a plus making it easy to get even the little ones to our boat and back into the house.

Of course the wonderful weather and viewing the total solar eclipse just made the weekend almost perfect.

We are hoping to return soon:-)

About Timothy Lewis

I was a US Navy pilot, and retired in San Diego in 1991. Jane and I started a business in our garage printing t-shirts, and now, over twenty-five year later, our son is running it. We looked for a place to buy for a vacation home, and having grown up in Southern Indiana, I had spent some time at Kentucky Lake as a teenager, and remember loving it. We still have family in the area, so we bought a lot and with the help of my parents, we built Lake 'n Logs.

Timothy Lewis purchased this house in 1998

Kentucky Lake

Kentucky Dam creates the largest man made lake in the eastern United States. It backs up the Tennessee River for 184 miles and creates a lake that stretches south across the western tip of Kentucky and nearly the entire width of Tennessee. At maximum normal operating level, Kentucky Lake covers 160,300 acres.

More important than the project's size are the jobs it performs. Kentucky Dam is the spigot that TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) uses to help control floods on the lower Ohio and Mississippi rivers; it is the gateway to the Tennessee River waterway and is a major generating plant in the TVA power system.

Kentucky Lake is a magnet for vacationers and fishermen from a wide area of mid- America, with recreation use amounting to some 17 million visits each year. Along its nearly 2400 miles of cove-studded shoreline are many boat docks and resorts, 4 state parks, the Tennessee National Wildlife refuge, 48 public access areas, 2 county parks, 5 municipal parks, 2 state wildlife management areas, 10 group camps and clubs, 92 commercial recreation areas, and 3 small wildlife areas.
