Great relaxing get away!

  • 4 of 5

The house had everything we needed, The lake was quiet and beautiful! We had a fantastic getaway from the busy city life. Caught some fish, had camp fires, went for a hike, & made new memories!!

Perfect spot to get away and relax. Peaceful lake view.

  • 5 of 5

We managed to get out in the canoe for a long paddle between rain clouds. Raced a downpour home. The last morning was glorious. We got up early to enjoy the deck. The loons were talking to us. Slept so well. Comfortable for our rainy day cooking and hanging out. Thanks for the tips on where to go fly fishing.

home on the lake

  • 3 of 5

Overall the stay was ok /good with a few issues. The three main issues were the couches, the cleanliness/especially the window areas, and the unevenness to the dock, with not adequate steps and a good railing. The couches were extremely worn and uncomfortable, you just sank in them, we had to sit on blankets. The windows do need screens as we couldn't open some of them. The bedrooms were very good and the large bed was excellent to sleep in(newer mattress). The smaller bedroom had a strong smell, not a bad smell but a strong scent. The day we left i stripped the beds and found about 20 dryer sheets on each mattress. That was the strong scent and very unhealthy to breath in. I should have told the owners sooner but life goes on, and clearly it was done for a reason. The washer and dryer were a nice added feature. Overall the lake is beautiful and home is right on the water.

Owner's Response: Thank you for letting us know about your stay. We really wish you had contacted us during your stay, because we could have addressed these items then for you. Regarding the couch, we have removed the large one, which you sink in to when you sat in it out. As for the unevenness of the dock, this is an easy fix and we would have been happy to straighten them out for you if we had known. Some times people renters have boats and with wind the dock can shift. You may have noticed there is slate rock against the shore, so if dock leg is pushed off a rock, it can get uneven. Generally, the docks are quite nice and even and there is a ladder at the end for folks to get in and out of water. There is also an iron railing on one side as you walk down the naturally landscaped 2 to 3 steps to get to them. Regarding the dryer sheets, that's simply unacceptable. We have addressed it with the cleaning person, who she said she put a "few" there to make the room smell nice. That will never happen again. Once more, thank you for the feedback. We hope you return to enjoy the Belgrade Lakes area again in the future.

great lake but this cabin needs work

  • 1 of 5

I usually don't like to leave negative feedbacks, but this house needed a lot of work. Half of the windows had no screens, the gas grill was almost completely rotted out, the fridge took a full day before it was cold enough to keep drinks cold, and the whole house, and property needed a very good cleaning. I know the house is for sale but should still be keep up for rental's.

Owner's Response: Grill parts were replaced. Upon examination of refrigerator, no issues found. Working fine and no other complaints from renters (rented through October). The only thing we can think of which may have happened was perhaps door was left open? No other complaints regarding cleaning services have occurred the entire season. However we are always looking for feedback in this area! Thanks. ~Kellie

Exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

The area had a lot to offer with hiking, boating and fishing. The house had everything that we needed for the week that we stayed there and just as pictured online.. Shopping and dining were easily reached by being only a few miles from the house, especially Ninety-Nine restaurant and Belgrade Seafood for lobster rolls and Day's Store for fresh-steamed lobster.. Nighttime breezes along with visits from the loons made for enjoyable evenings. This was our first time staying in the Belgrades region and we will probably be coming back in the future.
