About Thomas Lobasso
We are the proud owners of this beautiful mountain retreat that we enjoy sharing with family, friends and our guests. We designed and built it for the express purpose of having a peaceful place for people to get away and unwind from their busy day to day lives. Our family and friends frequently come up to the house to enjoy the culture and scenic beauty of the Berkshires. My wife and I are professionals in the environmental field and have a deep appreciation and love for the natural beauty of the Berkshire region.
Thomas Lobasso purchased this House in 2004

lt was totally like being at home. Wonderful stay and looking forward to a future stay
We booked the property for Thanksgiving week as it was the perfect location to bring our kids together who had been apart at different schools and countries for about a year. The log home is beautiful and immaculately maintained! The location is exceptional as activities, supermarkets, etc. are all within a few miles of it.
It was a wonderful place to spend Thanksgiving- with the table set, a fire blazing in the fireplace, and a backdrop of the log walls and snow covered trees, it could have been a perfect setting for Norman Rockwell to apply his genius.
We look forward to renting this property again to experience it in summer!
Beautiful Getaway in the woods
From the moment I first contacted the owners, and exchanged messages with Tom about the cabin, I had a good feel about it. When we arrived, after a long day of driving, Tom was there to welcome us to the home. He showed me how everything worked, gave me a tour of the property, and made us feel like welcomed guests. He even had a lovely bottle of wine for us. The home is easy to get to, only about 10 minutes from I90. The home is comfortable and well appointed. We found lots to do in the area, and also enjoyed just lying around the house and and relaxing. We had a fire one cold day, cooked some fine food, watched old movies, took some hikes, hit a couple of farmer's markets, and enjoyed walking around the quaint towns of the Berkshires. You must make a point to get a take and bake pizza from The Berkshire Bakery in Housatonic, just 10 minutes away, they are delicious! This was a lovely home in which to enjoy peace and quiet, with many venues nearby for fun and adventure. Thanks, Tom and Kathie, for a wonderful vacation!
My wife and I stayed here for about 10 days starting Labor Day and we were quite impressed with the accommodations and just the overall feel of the place and location. The master bedroom is very roomy and comfortable; the kitchen has everything needed to cook meals; and there is plenty of space in this house if you have a family or guests. We used this beautiful log home as a home base to do some scenic motorcycle riding in the area and we were not disappointed. Tom and his wife met us at the house to give us the tour and checked on us once to make sure everything was okay. We really enjoyed our stay and would rent this home again if we travel back to this area. The location was perfect for us and allowed us to travel about the area into Vermont, New York and Connecticut on day trips. This is a 5-star place folks and you will not be disappointed.
Pleasant Get Away HQ
My family of three enjoyed the log home immensely. It's not difficult to forget how easy it can be to travel around the Berkshires region, but this is a great homebase. We enjoyed warm weather and a sudden snow storm. Fun playtime with our five year old and some nice stops in surrounding restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and the amenities were 100% what one might need for a quiet few days of reading and relaxing with the wilderness surrounding you. We'll return in time. Thanks, Tom.
Great time in W. Stockbridge!
We loved our stay at this beautiful log cabin. The owner, Tom, was very accommodating and quick to reply to all of our questions leading up to our stay. He met us upon arrival with a bottle of wine and gave us a quick tour of the cabin. It was perfect in every way and exactly what we expected from the photos. My wife and i were with our two kids (ages two and one) and the in-laws and we all had plenty of space for everyone. Just a few of notes/highlights below...
- Great master suite upstairs with loft that can easily be gated off both upstairs and down below to keep the kids safe.
- Close to everything in the area (skiing, museums, town centers, etc.) but super quiet and tucked away with lots of privacy.
- Fireplace worked great. There were a few logs at the house which Tom kindly offered for us to burn during our stay, but plan on bringing/buying your own wood.
- There was a great library of children's books which the kids loved going through
- Good wifi - which is key b/c cell signals are not terribly reliable in the area
- The sound traveled through the walls a bit between bedrooms, but there were white noise machines in the rooms which we turned on at night making it barely noticeable.
- There was LOTS of snow ahead of our three night stay, and the hilly driveway was plowed perfectly. We had no trouble getting in and out.
Such a great log cabin! Thanks for everything. Hope to return with the family soon.
