The Alcove Retreat on Lake Lanier is waiting for your visit. Enjoy the thrill of the lake or the surrounding area during the day and the comfort of home at night. If it's warm enough for you, bring your boat and tie up at the dock. There is a boat ramp for
launching very close by. After a day of activity come back and relax in the hot tub on the lower deck. If you?d rather be cozy and comfortable inside, relax with satellite HDTV (51? RPTV) in the gathering room downstairs or the dedicated theater upstairs perfect for sports events like the Super Bowl (are you ready for a near 10' diagonal screen?). Both can handle the DVD's you bring along including BluRay DVD's in the theater. If you want to just get away from things then relax in the library, close the doors, and read to your heart's content. Or break out a puzzle (dozens available) and spread it out on the dining room table for a challenge. A limited selection of books is available. If you'd like to surf or stay in touch with the outside world, bring your laptop and wireless card to tap into the DSL wireless network.
This is an ideal getaway for that special vacation or for team building. An offsite meeting place is a great way to get that office, club, or church group focused on that special roject. The Retreat offers the wooded seclusion of a mountain cabin and all the comforts of home as well as the fun and enjoyment of being on Lake Lanier.
The Retreat is only a 45-minute ride up GA400 from I-285 on the north side of Atlanta. It's located on the northwest corner of Lake Lanier on a quiet Chestatee River cove. The location provides easy access not only to "The Lake" but also a wide variety of activities
in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains. Dahlonega, Helen, Amicalola Falls, North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall, Mall of Georgia, and much more are close by. Boating, hiking, horseback riding, rafting, golf, gold mining? whatever you would like to do is
probably close by as well.
Sorry, but there is no smoking. Pets will be considered upon request.

Loved the home, but dock could use some repair
Stayed 4 nights, Robin was very nice to work with, the house is very nice. There were 14 of us , grandchildren loved having their own room with four single beds. Close to shopping and dining. The house not being on the lake was not an issue for us, but the disrepair of the dock was. The dock was functional for loading and unloading on the boat, but not for leisure.
Incredible home! All and much more then I expected. Extremely clean and very well maintained. The movie theater made a great nightly entertainment. Property centrally located to all needs. The owner was amazingly helpful. The lake is beautiful. Gettimg ready to book it again for next years getaway.
Incredible location, amazingly convenient and an extremely nice owner.
We recently stayed at this house for a week and actually brought two boats and 2 families. The owner, Robin, has prepared a meticulous guide to the house and the area nearby, including how to launch your boat. While the house is not actually on the lake, the dock is excellent and extremely convenient, just like the rest of the house. I would say that staying right on the lake has little real advantage, as the views from the house are all gorgeous. The beds, linens and towels are all top notch and the little touches that make the stay even better are everywhere. The home theater was a huge hit with the kids, and the bar area with a blender and mini-fridge was a perfect milkshake station. Robin is a great host and you will be guaranteed a great house if you rent it.
My 4 grown children, their families & I enjoyed 4 days/nights at this property.
One of my sons has brain cancer and we wanted a place where we could all be together and visit with him. The Lake house was the perfect solution! There was plenty of space in the large house for privacy when desired and togetherness also. My son enjoyed the deck where we took turns visiting with him. The children enjoyed swimming in the lake while we sat on the dock. One day some of us went tubing while others rented a pontoon boat, tube & jet ski and had a wonderful time on Lake Lanier. Restaurants and shopping were close by.
I was surprised and pleased at how well stocked the house was. There were plenty of dishes, pots & pans, towels etc. The theater room was enjoyable also.
I would certainly recommend this lake house to anyone.
Our family Christmas vacation was really enjoyable here the amenities and layout were perfect. We had family flying in from Michigan and Texas for a total of 17 quests overnight and five of them were children under 10. All enjoyed the house tremendously especially the theater room. The accomodations were great, the house well maintained. We really enjoyed having a well stocked kitchen of utensils and space.
We enjoyed being near shopping (Walmart)expecially. However, though the lake was in close walking distance I personally would have liked actually being on the Lake.
We were looking for a central location to have Thanksgiving this year and this was perfect! There were reservations from members regarding what it would be like, but all doubters were pleased once arriving. Many comments about how clean the house was & how nice it was. It was the perfect size for our family (14 adults and 2 young children). We will definantely keep the info for future famiy holidays!
