Overview

About the property

Condo, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 5 Sleeps

The uncrowded white sandy beach consists of seven miles of beautiful

North Carolina coast and is accessible by a private walkway from the

property. Lifeguards are on duty during peak season and hours. Enjoy

walking the beach, shelling, swimming, surfing, or just relaxing on

the beach.

There is so much to do at Carolina Beach. A fantastic new North

Carolina Aquarium is at the south end of the island next to historic

Fort Fisher. Daily programs include divers who swim with sharks and

rays and a touching pond for the kids. Just north of our condo is

the marina with daily departures on fishing charters, sunset

cruises, dinner cruises, and boat rentals.

Carolina Beach has festivals throughout the year,

as well as fishing piers and the boardwalk. A short walk out your

door will bring you to a variety of Carolina Beach's best

restaurants. Britt's donuts is only a couple of blocks away.

The historic port city of Wilmington, located 17 miles away, plays

host to various special events. One is the North Carolina Azalea

festival in April featuring live musical and theater performances,

garden and historic home tours, outdoor activities, food and crafts.

During the summer outdoor activities are scheduled along the

Wilmington riverfront. The North Carolina Battleship Museum and

riverfront cruises are in Wilmington. The historic riverfront

downtown has brick streets, waterfront restaurants, loads of antique

shops, horse-drawn carriage rides, and fantastic restaurants.

A ferry boat makes the half hour trip to the quaint town of

Southport. Cars or Bicycles may be taken onto the ferry that goes

from Ft. Fisher to Southport, both great places to visit.

Great location with all the items needed for the stay.

  • 4 of 5

Location was great for proximity to the boardwalk, shops, and food. Minimal driving was great.

Condo was nice. There was plenty of room for my family of 4. Nice that the linens were included. Did not know cable was included so that was a nice surprise.

Would definitely stay again.

Very quaint with spectacular beach views.

  • 5 of 5

I am not sure that there is a property literally any closer to the ocean. 90 seconds and you're in the Atlantic. The beach is great and even on the hottest day, the sand is bearable. The condo itself is simple but honestly bigger that the listing leads you to believe. Everything is in working order and there are ample linens as well as towels. The A/C will keep you as cold as you could ever want. The balcony is great and quite spacious. If there is a complaint at all, it would probably be the tight parking. It is no fault of the property really, the entire island is like that. I was still easily able to park my giant diesel Excursion in the same parking lot as a Dodge Ram dually. We will most definitely stay there when we want to go to Carolina Beach if Brian will have us. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home, we had a great time.

"Beach Fix" fulfilled

  • 5 of 5

For first visit to Wilmington, we chose a great rental. Proximity to the ocean was perfect. As former Long Islanders (NY), spent many hours sitting on deck overlooking & hearing the surf. Accompanied by our dogs, we enjoyed early morning & early evening walks with our greyhounds.

Property clean & everything in working order. We are seasoned VRBOers. There was plenty of drawer & closet space for a lengthy stay. The kitchen is extremely well stocked; wonderful foresight by owners to leave one large kitchen cabinet void of supplies so could be utilized for personal items & groceries.

Plenty of onsite parking. The immediate area is very walkable,

with a nearby lake & park. The residents are very friendly & sociable

& shared info where to dine and tour.

As in all previous reviews, I have a 'minor' criticism of all VRBO owners...perhaps extra towel racks so the towels can air & dry; this unit too could use an extra one. And another 'minor' issue was the lack of a dining table on the porch. We brought a foldable card table so could eat overlooking the beach.

Despite the initial confusion with our reservation that changed three times, the owner was patient, responsive and accommodating.

A 'local' recommended eateries "Jack Mackerels" (fish=skip it=more french fries than fish), "Freddies" (delicious; great bolognese by NY standards, superb pork chops, we shared a meal=still took home leftovers) & "Gulfstream" (best Eggs Benedict ever=Saturday only!).

Walk the varied trails of Carolina Beach St. Park., tour Ft. Fisher,

& see SS Carolina.

Highly recommend this comfortable rental...will happily return.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

Great property and location. Several restaurants and shops within walking distance meaning you could potentially spend an entire week without having to drive anywhere. The view was amazing from the back deck. If you plan to visit the state park or the park near Kure beach pack some serious bug spray- we learned that the hard way.

Wonderful vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this wonderful condo this past week. It is right on the beach, so we didnt have to carry our beach stuff very far.My husband and son stayed in the condo while my daughter and I went to the beach. The beach was not crowded at all. Plenty of room inside the condo, and the kitchen was stocked very well. We will definitely be back again next year. Thanks for a relaxing place to stay on our vacation .
