About the Owner

Making your vacation excellent in every way is my #1 commitment and customer service and relations is something I pride myself in. Read my reviews to see that others agree!

Pacific Beach exudes the essence of a true California beach town with its brilliant, year-round sunshine and blue ocean swells that greet its sand and boardwalks. This small, colorful community blends an eccentric mix of surfers, local beach bums, college students, professionals, and families. A few blocks west of Pacific Beach, you’ll find a fun jumble of surf shops, taco stands, craft galleries, hotels and smoke shops flavored with a hint of tie-dye. The architecture here is varied, with 30s-style beachfront cottages next to large, upscale, earth-toned hotels and condos. Expect ultra casual and zero attitude in Pacific Beach. For a less crowded alternative, try the more protected waters of Mission Bay, located just four blocks east of the south end of Pacific Beach.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was our first trip to San Diego and we had a wonderful time. The condo is in a great location - close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. It was equipped with everything we needed. My husband and daughter biked a few times and we all enjoyed the beach each day. Thanks! We had a very memorable stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place!

This condo is a gem!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week here in early July 2016 and had no complaints. We’re already talking about when we’re going back next year!

AMENITIES: The condo comes fully stocked, from the kitchen (cookware, dishes, appliances), to everything you’d need at the beach (chairs, towels, umbrellas, cooler, boogie board, toys). The condo also came with 3 beach cruiser bicycles. We even enjoyed the binoculars provided to watch the surfers by the pier.

BUILDING: The building was very secure and clean. We had access to a pool, Jacuzzi, outside patio area and gas grill.

PARKING: I can’t say enough how wonderful it was to have a reserved parking spot in a town where parking comes at a premium. We’d watch people drive back and forth searching for the rare open parking spot on the street, thankful that our car was tucked away in its own covered spot.

LOCATION: It was perfect! It was very convenient being right across the boardwalk from the beach. And there were dozens of restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance. We walked everywhere, including to the grocery store.

VIEW: Sitting in the living room, we had a lovely view of the beach and Crystal Pier. We could also see the 9pm fireworks at Sea World every evening from our living room.

OWNER: Dean was a delight to work with. His communications were prompt and clear. We even had the pleasure to meet him in person when he stopped by during our stay to drop off some additional fans to get us through the “heat wave” (which was probably 80 degrees – 30 degrees cooler than our home in Phoenix).

We are looking forward to a return visit to Pacific Beach, and specifically this condo. Thanks for everything, Dean!

Awesome vacation! Condo has everything that you need for a great stay, you are covered with everything from beach to kitchen. Condo was also clean and well kept, always a good thing. Outside patio common area was great with lounge chairs, grill, pool/jacuzzi. Would recommend this rental to anyone who wants to be close to the beach, shops, pier, and nightlife. Owner was also super nice and helpful, fast email response time also. Thanks again

Basic Condo/Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We recommend this condo. Building is older and unit is a bit basic but spotlessly clean! Many nice homey touches. We felt safe at all times. Seems to be mainly vacation rentals with a few permanent residents. Everyone is very nice and quiet. (For some reason, we had next door neighbors who slammed their door a lot but they left after a few days.) We slept well. Ocean sounds are wonderful.

Dean was excellent to deal with. He was patient with questions and returned calls and my deposit check promptly. His instructions were accurate. Check in and out was easy. Parking is very important in PB. Very handy to have community laundry in garage level. Elevator was in good working order.

Unit is not child-proof due to a screen at floor level which Dean acknowledged. He provided many beach toys, boogie boards, etc which we did not use but families would. Also regret we did not use the bikes or pool but wish we had.

Would be wonderful if there was a balcony and two nights we wished we had AC (Not common in SD). Good value for money. This was our first time using an internet vacation rental. We were a bit nervous but it turned out to be a good experience. We would rent this unit again.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the accurate and informative review. I hope we will have the opportunity to have you as guests again. I love our Canadian guests and get quite a few from there. I wish the exchange rate didn't make a US vacation decision a bigger expense. I've been there when neighbors let the door slam also. When the their front window is open often a breeze blows the door shut when people leave if they don't physically shut it slowly. A taped note to "Please don't let door slam" works. Idea just now! I'll put a sign up between the doors to remind everyone not to let the door slam. When it's windy it's easy to not remember to catch it.

Gem of a condo on Pacific Beach!

  • 4 of 5

This is the second time our family has used this condo on Pacific Beach. It remains a gem, perfectly situated steps from the beach and within in easy walking distance of restaurants, and shops. For those with farther flung plans, it's got easy access to the interstates. The condo itself is well kept and very beachy. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen that allowed us to cook at home. The crock pot was a life saver! The only addition we'd suggest is a small beach cooler.

We'll be back again!

Next time we go for a stay a cooler will be included. We love going to the thrift stores and that will be something to search for!

Great Pacific Beach Ocean Front Condo

  • 5 of 5

Our group of four had a wonderful time at this oceanfront condo which was equipped with everything from dishes and beach umbrellas to three bikes. We very much enjoyed the beach and bicycling on the boardwalk and especially on the boardwalk at nearby Mission Bay, which was much less crowded. The waves were great and the weather, too. Restaurants and stores were withing walking distance. The condo was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a great time! P.S. The owner was very accessible and helpful when we had questions.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review! Customer service is a commitment to us. We want our guests stay to be as fun and carefree as possible. We use the condo as our get away during weeks that it is not booked and have went to the extra effort to have it clean, decorated in a beach theme and to have a complete and convenient kitchen.

Location

From the Owner

The Unique Benefits at this Condo: Between the ocean, the bay, and nearly 15 miles of bike paths — not to mention year-round sunshine — Pacific Beach offers a myriad of recreational activities for families, weekend warriors, and outdoor enthusiasts. Surf, swim, kayak, or body board in the blue waters of the ocean. Bicyclists, skaters, walkers, and joggers have miles of paved paths winding between the ocean and Mission Bay. The paths afford spectacular views of the beach and bay; they also offer up a slice of local life at Pacific Beach, including neighborhood basketball games, family picnics, Frisbee, and kite activities, and lots of outdoor barbecues. Sunbathing opportunities abound on the ocean, the bay, or a quiet grassy knoll. With the endless supply of ocean and sand at Pacific Beach, parents will never hear the words “I’m bored” from their kids. Pacific Beach is a saltwater playground offering all the activities kids love — building sand castles, splashing in the ocean, or (for bigger kids) romping through the waves on a body board. The beach isn’t the only happening scene in Pacific Beach. Shoppers will find dozens of funky, eclectic surf shops, clothing stores, smoke shops, and craft galleries along Mission Boulevard and on Grand and Garnet Avenues. You can rent surfboards, body boards, roller blades, and bicycles at shops located near Crystal Pier. Lifeguards are stationed at Pacific Beach year-round. Pets are permitted from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and must be on a leash. Parking at Pacific Beach is easy most weekdays during the winter. However, it will be challenging on weekends and on any day during the summer. We advise arriving early for the best selection. Unmetered street parking is available but fills up quickly. Better yet, stay at one of Pacific Beach’s awesome hotels for the ultimate vacation convenience.
