About Dean Meek

Making your vacation excellent in every way is my #1 commitment and customer service and relations is something I pride myself in. Read my reviews to see that others agree!

Pacific Beach exudes the essence of a true California beach town with its brilliant, year-round sunshine and blue ocean swells that greet its sand and boardwalks. This small, colorful community blends an eccentric mix of surfers, local beach bums, college students, professionals, and families. A few blocks west of Pacific Beach, you’ll find a fun jumble of surf shops, taco stands, craft galleries, hotels and smoke shops flavored with a hint of tie-dye. The architecture here is varied, with 30s-style beachfront cottages next to large, upscale, earth-toned hotels and condos. Expect ultra casual and zero attitude in Pacific Beach. For a less crowded alternative, try the more protected waters of Mission Bay, located just four blocks east of the south end of Pacific Beach.

Why Dean Meek chose North Pacific Beach

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:

Between the ocean, the bay, and nearly 15 miles of bike paths — not to mention year-round sunshine — Pacific Beach offers a myriad of recreational activities for families, weekend warriors, and outdoor enthusiasts. Surf, swim, kayak, or body board in the blue waters of the ocean. Bicyclists, skaters, walkers, and joggers have miles of paved paths winding between the ocean and Mission Bay. The paths afford spectacular views of the beach and bay; they also offer up a slice of local life at Pacific Beach, including neighborhood basketball games, family picnics, Frisbee, and kite activities, and lots of outdoor barbecues. Sunbathing opportunities abound on the ocean, the bay, or a quiet grassy knoll. With the endless supply of ocean and sand at Pacific Beach, parents will never hear the words “I’m bored” from their kids. Pacific Beach is a saltwater playground offering all the activities kids love — building sand castles, splashing in the ocean, or (for bigger kids) romping through the waves on a body board. The beach isn’t the only happening scene in Pacific Beach. Shoppers will find dozens of funky, eclectic surf shops, clothing stores, smoke shops, and craft galleries along Mission Boulevard and on Grand and Garnet Avenues. You can rent surfboards, body boards, roller blades, and bicycles at shops located near Crystal Pier. Lifeguards are stationed at Pacific Beach year-round. Pets are permitted from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and must be on a leash. Parking at Pacific Beach is easy most weekdays during the winter. However, it will be challenging on weekends and on any day during the summer. We advise arriving early for t

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just got back from my another stay at Dean’s condo. Nice place to come home to after sightseeing, and a wonderful place to be on those days you just don't feel like going out. Easy views of the ocean, beach, boardwalk and surfers make staying in VERY easy. Bed and furniture are very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped with rice cooker, crockpot, Foreman grill. Nice selection of seasonings. Cookbooks, birding books and binoculars, novels, big stack of DVD movies. Cards and board games too. Felt like I was staying at a friend's house. Bikes (and helmets!), walking distance to Ralph's grocery, Mission Bay, Tuesday farmers market (great Indian food!). I felt safe walking the boardwalk and beaches early morning and in the evening too. Dean was very easy to work with and refunded my security deposit quickly. Cozy beach condo

  • 5 of 5

Great location for family. Not in the main craziness of the boardwalk but on the boardwalk and able to walk to everything. Grocery store, CVS, liquor store all in walking distance. Had a great time sitting on the couch and viewing the ocean and pier.

Condo was clean and comfortable. Loved the big window in the living room to listen to the ocean waves. Will for sure be returning in two years.

Marvelous Experience

  • 5 of 5

I have divided my review into the three categories that I feel are the most important in vacation rentals:

Owner

We have used many vacation rentals over the years and Dean Meeks was by far the best owner or rental agent we have ever worked with. He is organized and professional, he responds to questions or inquiries in an exceptionally timely manner. I real pleasure doing business with him. He even suggested a terrific restaurant for a family reunion.

Condo

The condo is well maintained and well stocked, including bicycles and beach toys.

The furniture is comfortable and the seaside decor enhances the experience.

I miss the view of Crystal Pier and the surfers while gazing out the living room window.

Location

A beautiful beach community. The mild San Diego weather is perfect for walking along the beach year round. We were there in February with temperatures were in the 70's. You have easy access to many local attractions like Balboa Park, Sea World, Liberty Station, and restaurants. We will return.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for booking with me and for taking the time to write such a wonderful review! I love any time one of my guests takes the time to write a review, but yours was extra special. I was a small business owner in the past and believe in putting my customers first.

Quiet, clean, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Just had my third visit to Dean’s condo. I love watching surfers from the living room, sleeping with windows open and listening to the surf. Daily walks on the boardwalk are lovely. Mission Bay and Ralph’s grocery are just minutes away on foot or by bike. Dean even provides helmets! Birding books, binoculars, lots of games and beach toys, novels, and a well-stocked kitchen make staying in as enticing as going out. The bed and furniture are quite comfortable for when you need to rest up from all your Pacific Beach adventures. I’m already looking forward to my next trip!

Wondeful escape

  • 5 of 5

The place was great. Steps from the beach and within walking distance of dozens of great places to eat and drink as well as shopping if that's your thing. The pier was fun to walk on. Twice we saw dolphins. I recommend walking the beach north during low tide. There lies a wonderment of tide pools where we came across sea cucumbers, crabs, snails and were told there are sometimes octopus. Very cool. The apartment was well furnished and clean. Being avid bikers in the city we live in, we were very excited that the property had bikes. They are fine for cruising the lovely boardwalk however don't anticipate going any where to far. We made the mistake of biking to La Jolla, beautiful area, rough bike ride. Take the convenient public transportation or get a lyft. Thanks Dean for the wonderful vacation.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the review! You are right about the bikes. They are single speed beach cruisers and any kind of incline is a challenge.
