A Short Walk to the Beach
When I reserved the studio, I didn’t catch that it was a second floor studio. However we can handle stairs. I did suggest to Joe that he cut down the tree that drops sticky fruit on the stairs. The studio was nicely furnished and quite comfortable.
Thank you for the good report card. It was a pleasure to work with you prior to and during your visit. I will look into the online description and make any changes that are necessary in case its not clear that there are stairs involved. Thank you for letting me know. I hope you have a great summer and I'll look forward to seeing you again. Best wishes, Joe
Great week on the quiet north end of Clearwater Beach
Excellent accommodations for 2, close to the beach within walking distance of countless restaurants and bars on north CWB. Joe did a great job with communications, following up on the system generated messages with additional detail and a personal touch. Highly recommended!
Delightful studio, very short walk to beach and sights
My husband and I (and our dog) stayed in this studio for a week and really enjoyed it. We looked at many vacation rentals and hotels in the area, and this was under the cost for the location--hotels tended to be around $180 a night, and didn't have full kitchens. Other vacation rentals were a bit more expensive, but some of them could sleep more people, but for just two people (or perhaps a couple and a child) this was more than enough for our needs. It was also great to be able to have dog, especially given that the beach is dog friendly beginning 1 block north of the unit.
Unit: The vaulted ceilings in the studio make it seem much larger than the square footage. The photos are representative. The bed and couch were comfortable. The outdoor deck and table (with umbrella) was nice for eating on the deck. There is a small view of the ocean from the deck, but it is not an "ocean view" deck. We enjoyed being able to see the bustle of people on the street from the deck without being a part of it.
Amenities: We found the kitchen to be well stocked with dishes and utensils for all of our cooking needs. The Wifi was really easy to access, which is unusual for vacation rentals. There it was quick and easy to connect. We brought an Apple TV and had no trouble streaming Netflix movies in the room. There are chairs and floats for use at the beach if you need them, and there are plenty of towels for shower and beach use.
Location: It is a *very* short walk to the beach, and the north end of the beach is far less crowded or touristy than the south end. We really appreciated the quiet and more "low-key" feel of being on the North Beach side of Clearwater Beach. However, it is also really short walk (about 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you walk or whether you walk on the beach or road) to get down to Pier 60 where all of the charter boats and excitement are happening. It is also really close to the Palm Pavillion, which is a great place to listen to live music and watch the sunset. Despite the walk from the more populated areas, we found it safe to walk back after dark and a safe place to walk our dog in the evening.
Management/Owner: It was a delight working with Joe! He was responsive and very helpful. Anytime we had a question we heard from him virtually immediately, and he returned our security deposit within 24 hours of checking out -- on a Sunday, no less. I would love to have all VRBO owners be so helpful, professional, and pleasant!
There are so many things to do on Clearwater Beach, you name it, we've got it. Frequent volleyball and other tournaments and contests are held here, and many restaurants and bars feature live music by day and night. Our restaurants have an exceptional assortment of fresh seafood, as the docks are located nearby. There are several golf courses nearby. For the family, the Clearwater Aquarium, miniature golf courses, street festivals, activities on the Pier, and more are held on a regular basis. Splash Island Water Park is just down the coast on St. Petersburg's beach. Major attractions in Tampa are the Lowry Park Zoo, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, just to name a few. Within two hours you can get to everything in Orlando: Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Theme Parks and more.
The beach at the end of the block is the best, with fine, white sand and the dining and sightseeing are exceptional. This portion of Clearwater Beach is approximately 1/2 of a mile away from the mainstream of activities and while its a pleasant walk to those activities it is just far enough away so that you can enjoy more peace and quiet than if you were there in the middle. The
block is a residential block and has a community feel.
