Comfortable two-story charming upside down home 1.5 blocks from a beautiful beach at 220 99th street. Within short walking distance to 96th Street's quaint shopping and dining. Tennis and basketball courts and a charming tot park only a few blocks away. Two bedrooms with full-size beds. 2 additional bedrooms with 2 twin beds each. Sleeps 8 easily, but can sleep up to 10.

2nd floor outdoor deck with patio furniture and gas grill. Full kitchen, living room with TV/DVD/VCR.

Not as advertised

Upon arrival we realized the home had not been updated or thoroughly cleaned in a good amount of time. The outside shower cold water needed a wrench to shut it off. The indoor shower didn't have any cold water and we couldn't shower in there. It states is comes with a grill, it didn't state no gas to use it though. There was no umbrella on the deck and no cleaning supplies. During my initial contact with Shu she was great. Once I called to complain she all of a sudden didn't understand the English language. Not to mention the beach house has no beach badges or any wi-fi. I asked to be compensated and she has since ignored my request.

Owner's Response: This review is not justified and is inaccurate. In the following Response to this Review, Ms. XX represents the person who has submitted this Review. Ms. XX has signed the Beach House Rental Lease Agreement on 6/4/15. My beach house has been renovated about 6 years ago. The professional landscaping was completed in 2014. In addition, TV, gas grill, a long bench for dinner table, the modern window curtains in living room and dinning area are all new in 2015. All our tenants at the beach house, before Ms. XX, after Ms.XX, and even until the present time, Never complain of the shower water problem inside or out side the beach house. EXCEPT Ms. XX. According to the Lease Agreement, all tenants agree to clean the beach house themselves before the date of departure. The beach house is not a Hotel which provides daily cleaning services. All our tenants understand this. EXCEPT Ms. XX. I have informed Ms. XX that I will reimburse the expenses of refilling the gas tank of grill. I am still waiting for her receipts. Providing the beach tag to tenant is not in the Lease Agreement. All my tenants for many years understand this situation. EXCEPT Ms. XX. The availability of wi-fi is not in the Lease Agreement. However, if the tenant requests for wi-fi service, then I will provide this service. Ms. XX NEVER REQUESTS this service. I already have provided Ms. XX A SPECIAL BIG DISCOUNT for the beach rental rate. I have many years of experiences in real estate business management. Some of my beach house guests are repeat guests every year. They all state that they had a great time and comfortable vacation at my beach house.

Highly recommend

We stayed for the memorial weekend and had a great time.

Its location is great. Beach is two blocks away / 5 mins walk. A fancy boutique shopping area is three blocks away on 96th st and all the way along 3rd ave. We also enjoyed the walking distance to a bike shop around the corner on 3rd avenue. It's the friendliest and most helpful bike shop I've been to. We got six bikes and toured the island for two hours and half. Great fun.

The beach was splendid. Deep, wide, clean and soft. Water in May could be chilling for some. However, we found it to be OK and had a lot of splashes fun.

House is clean and well kept. We didn't bring any cooking ware and managed to cook breakfasts and pasta. Living room is on second floor and really sunny with a great outdoor deck, which we should've really taken more advantage of.

The last thing is during my hunt, I didn't find this house initially when I was searching on web browsers on my PC. It only showed up when I used the HomeAway mobile app on my phone. Probably sth to do with the fact the listing's availability hadn't been updated for more than two months. Once we emailed the owner Mrs and Mr Kuo, everything went smoothly from there.

Worked great for our family of 8!

This was our second stay in Stone Harbor and the second rental we had tried. We were very pleased in all areas. THe house was very clean and had no odors. Having some hardwood floors also added to the cleanliness. The furniture was in great condition - I loved the leather couches. I did not feel cramped in the kitchen even though I was cooking for eight every day - and the refrigerator was clean. I did need to bring linens but the comforters provided were warm and clean. TV/cable was fine. We also used the grill on the balcony which already had a propane tank. The bedrooms on the first floor were a plus because it made changing after the beach less of a chore. The washer and dryer worked fine. The location was fine for the rent charged - just two blocks two main shopping and two blocks to the beach. Also, the Catholic church was just up the street. I would highly recommend this property.
