House, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 4 Sleeps
Enjoy the ever changing views of the ocean currents and 20 foot
tides, only 230 feet from the house. From the dining room table you
will see seals at play in the current and the local fishing boats
coming in with the day's catch. This home has been completely
refurbished and is decorated with charming period furniture. The
house brings back memories of Lubec's waterfront history, as do
Lubec's main streets lined with Victorian homes. Shops, restaurants,
library, and boat landing are a short stroll from the front door.
Lubec's public beach with three miles of beachcombing -- is also just a
short walk from the cottage. After a day exploring the area, what could
be better than curling up with a good book by the cozy living room
stove while the foghorns sound in the channel? If you are unfamiliar with the art of cooking lobster and steamers, the owners will order, deliver, and cook your lobsters, steamers, and mussels for you right at the cottage. And they'll show you how to shell and eat them 'Way Down East' style. Fun & relaxing after a busy day! The home has two bedrooms with two twin beds in one bedroom and a full-size bed in the second bedroom. The house is equipped with a washer and dryer, full
and 1/2 baths, full kitchen, and TV/VCR with cable, broadband Internet with WiFi and free long distance phone service. ** Pet accommodations limited to one small to mid size, crate trained dog. Prior approval needed for pet. Turn over day is Sunday.

Best Get-A-Way Ever!
Never had a vacation as relaxing and enjoyable as this! Owners Pat and Gary live close by and gave us all the information needed to soak up the ambiance of this charming village. Campbell Island is a short walk over the bridge with great beaches, the Roosevelt Cottage and an extensive biking/running dirt road system. You won't regret staying there. It's clean, cozy and affordable. We can't wait to return in 2016.
The Coziest Spot Down East
This was the second time that my wife and I stayed at Fisherman's Cottage and we loved it both times. The house is very clean and comfortable and has a good layout, especially cozy with the gas fireplace for cooler nights. The location is perfect for exploring the village and the surrounding coastline, with Mowry beach and its abundance of wild roses almost at your doorstep. And the owners are incredibly nice, friendly people who are a joy to talk to. We are already looking forward to our next trip down east!
Fisherman's Cottage -- It's the Best
We could not have asked for a more charming place to stay in Lubec. From the time we arrived until we tearfully left a week later, we were continually delighted not only by the cottage but also by Lubec and the surrounding area. The cottage is comfortable, well-maintained, and more than adequate for three adults. The bonus of Pat and Gary (the owners) and Daisy dog made the cottage more like home than a rental. Pat and Gary answered our questions and then went about their lives -- leaving us to decide how we wanted to spend our time. Visits of Cohill's, Water Street Inn, and Frank's proved to be good choices for meals and Annabell's for an after dinner drink was a slice of local color! Our options included hikes, exploring the beaches, visiting Campobello Island, and blueberry picking all added to a rapidly building memory bank! We would visit again in a heartbeat.
Twenty on a ten point scale
From the moment we arrived until we tearfully left, we were enchanted by the special place that Lubec is. And, Fisherman's Cottage is the ideal place for a small group to stay. The cottage was exactly as described -- no surprises! It was comfortable and well maintained and being able to pick vegetables from the garden was a bonus!
We had great weather, met and talked with great people, walked and hiked, searched for whales, saw an eagle and her nestling, ate our way through a significant amount of seafood, and relished the memories we were making. We even met a woman who invited us to come pick wild Maine blueberries from her low lying plants, as she had too many! Thank goodness we have digital cameras, as we would not have been able to afford to develop photos the old fashioned way.
We enjoyed the Summer Keys concert and only missed the Thursday barbeque because we wanted to try the Water Street Inn -- having already fallen in love with Cohill's Inn, where we went back another night to listen with great enjoyment to a Country/Bluegrass concert!
One week was clearly not long enough. Our week was a twenty on a ten point scale! We look forward to two weeks or more in Lubec at the Fisherman's Cottage!
Terrific and cozy place - highly recommended
This is a lovely cozy home with every comfort and convenience included. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped, furniture comfortable, and beds and linens very nice. Towels plentifyl, and so clean and well-kept that the most white-glove person ever couldn't have faulted it. The owners live next door and offered us access to their vegetable patch and were friendly, considerate, and unintrusive. The rental agent, Jody, was very helpful and responsive. The house is in easy walking distance of Lubec village, including the store, post office, library, wharf, restaurants, pub and the Summerkeys HQ and practice rooms. It has a pleasant view of the water and a cute little patio where you can watch the tide go in and out (which is quite exciting on the Bay of Fundy). It's hard to imagine how a place to stay could be nicer.
Fisherman's Cottage -Loved our Time There
We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely, comfortable cottage. The owners Pat and Gary were thoughtful, and helpful and also gave us privacy. We enjoyed the FDR historical site of Campobello Island and also the lighthouses of the area (East Quoddy our favorite). We saw several bald eagles and took a day trip to Acadia National Park-quite a drive but so worth it-just beautiful. Frank's Dockside Restaurant and Cohill's Inn were good places to eat. All the folks of the area were friendly..We loved staying here, and we were NOT ready to come home. Thank you Jody, Gary, and Pat.
