About Colin Stewart

About the owner: I moved to Leadville in 2001. I love Colorado and the mountains and wanted to move here. I drove all over the mountains of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Wyoming, trying to find the perfect location. When we came to Leadville, I knew we had found the place. It is completely surrounded by mountains, has beautiful views of Colorado's two highest peaks - Mt. Elbert and Mt Massive. Leadville is centrally located in Colorado and within 45 minutes of Vail, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Beaver Creek. The local ski resort, Ski Cooper, is 15 miles. I can ATV, snowmobile, cross country ski, hike, and bike right out our door. My large family, 3 siblings, 9 nieces/nephews all love to come to Leadville for all of the outdoor activities.

clean and fresh nice place to stay

  • 5 of 5

this mountain cabin was perfect for our needs! it was just out side of town in the woods. it was very nice, inside was amazing. out side decks were nice to have morning coffee and watch the wild life roaming through the woods, and birds in the trees. I would recommend this quiet, spacious place to all my friends when going to the Leadville, twin lakes area.

Definitely don't pass this one up!

  • 5 of 5

This one is special. It's a lot bigger than what the pictures can show. There has been a lot of updating. Most notably is in the kitchen with new appliances and natural slate countertops. In the bathroom there is also natural slate in the shower. The main bedroom has a king size bed. The upstairs is a loft that would work great for kids. The full size bed in the pictures has been replaced with two twin beds with one having a trundle. Nice little deck upstairs too. The cabin is in a nice neighborhood less than a mile out of town. Accessibility is very easy. Lastly, i have to say that we just love staying in Leadville. It's a great little town.

Quiet retreat that is close to everything we wanted.

  • 4 of 5

The Mountain Cabin was a nice retreat for my husband and me. The kitchen is great - fully equipped! The only thing we could not find was oven mitts. The living area only seats three. The sleep sofa, more of a love seat, will handle two, and there is one other chair. Our bedroom was fine - very comfortable bed. There is an upstairs loft, only accessed by a ladder. A sink and toilet are also up there, covered by a half wall. Be sure and take all toiletries, including soap, shampoo, etc. I missed having a hook on the bathroom door. There is a hair dryer “hidden” in the cabinet under the TV in the living area. The yard is eclectic - nor quite sure of some of the displays! (Everything from skis to an iron to bones.). But it is interesting! We spent most of our time at beautiful Turquoise Lake and in the town of Leadville. The cabin was only a couple of miles from both. We loved the location, the quietness, and the kitchen.

Fun family place

  • 4 of 5

We had a nice time. House is clean and well stocked with amenities.....having a dishwasher and washing machine were fabulous. We had 2 little ones so it was a little more challenging with the loft area-getting up and down but in a few years it would be perfect for us. Loved having the fire pit and room to explore. We definitely want to come back.
