Townhome - 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 10; up to 12 w/ LR futon

South Mission Beach - 100 feet to the ocean sand with a front deck. Sleeps 10-12. May combine with lower unit 718 (#7006161) which sleeps 4-6.

4BR / 2BA upper level unit, 1700sq. ft. Older style townhome built in 1985 with deck which has partial ocean view. The deck is furnished with table, 5 chairs, umbrella, 2 lounge chairs, and grill. There are also 3 folding chairs for the deck area.

Indoor eating area has table and 6 chairs and 3 folding chairs There is also a kitchen counter that seats 2. Kitchen is stocked for basic cooking needs and BBQs.

The 1st BR has a queen bed; 2nd BR has a queen bed; 3rd BR has two twin beds. The 1st bathroom has combination shower/tub and two sinks. The loft area has a king bed and 2 twin beds. The loft bathroom has a shower and separate bath with 2 sinks.

The LR has a queen futon and two couches. The kitchen, eating area and living room are an open area.The living room has a vaulted ceiling, fan and sky lights. One TV in living room. Washer and dryer are off the kitchen.

There is no Air Conditioning but the unit cools by opening all windows even in summer.

There are 2 tiny parking spots for cars or small SUVs. One is a garage spot and the other is an outside covered spot west of the garage in front of the garbage cans. Large SUVs or Ford F-150 trucks or similar will not fit in either parking spot. There is street parking, but there is street sweeping every other day at 8-10AM and you can not park on the street during that time.

June 1st thru Aug. 31st - 7 night minimum (Sat. to Sat.)

Easter, Thanksgiving & X-mass - 5 night min.

Feb. thru May and Sept. - 4 night minimum,

Rest of the time 3 night min.

No air conditioning. No bikes.

Planes taking off from the San Diego Airport fly over Mission Beach and Ocean Beach. At times you will hear plane engines. The units in south mission are very close together. You can hear conversations from the neighbors in the unit.

About David Catalino

Grew up in NY State, and came to San Diego for law school. Love San Diego and been here 30 years. Bought this property in 2002 with my mother and sister and it is a family operation and we still take of all the details ourselves.

Big deck that faces south and gets sun all day. Short walk to the biggest beach in San Diego (Lifeguard Tower 10). Beach has volleyball courts, and room for any beach game you can think of but also private spots for sunning.

What makes this townhome unique

Quiet area with mainly families and small children. Teenagers can find the action of the roller coaster by a walk or bike ride north. New restaurant Draft near roller coaster has great food and 40 beers on tap. Upstairs is Cannon Ball for sushi and other seafood, drinks and sun.

Garage parking for one and outside for other vehicle. There is additional street parking on Mission Blvd. and in the nearby parks. There is wireless internet. Sand chairs; boogie boards; and beach toys for the little ones are shared with the lower unit. No Smoking on any part of the property or decks or patios. Maid service upon departure is included. There is no AC.

A great place for a family getaway!

This property was perfect for our 2-family group - plenty of space, and lots of amenities included. The recent interior upgrades were a very pleasant surprise as well! Aside from some loud neighbors, the stay was amazing!

Ship Shape Perfect Location

We have rented all over Mission and Pacific Beach and this was by far our favorite property. Excellent use of space, large kitchen and open deck. And the owner was a joy to work with. Thank you for making our family reunion the best!

Fantastic location and beautiful beach house!

We stayed at this beach house for a week and loved it! There was a total of 6 adults and 2 young boys and this beach house had more than enough room for all of us. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, as well as a nice BBQ grill on the huge balcony. The beach is a casual 2 minute walk away and there are other parks nearby as well as easy access to the bay on the other side. The owner was very friendly and responsive in all email communication. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this beach house to anyone visiting the Mission Beach area! Thank you!

Large, clean gem of a house!

I was worried that it would be cramped with 12 people, but the layout was perfect. There was plenty room for all. Bathrooms and kitchen have been updated since pics were taken, which was a pleasant surprise. Very spacious and the fact that it was a quick walk to the beach made us fall in love with the place. A lot of extra blankets, pillows, pans and the extras made it over the top (bikes, sand and water toys). Yes, parking spots are small and if you have partying people next door, it can get loud...but all houses on mission beach are close together so it's expected. It was nothing major. If you keep the windows closed, you won't hear them as much 😁?. We had a Dodge minivan and were able to park in the outside spot fine if everyone exited the car first. The big party area is by Belmont Park with shops and eating places along the boardwalk. That's 0.6 miles from the house. Close enough to walk to during the day but far enough where the busy night noise doesn't bother you. Bike rides are a must! I'd recommend David's place to anyone visiting the area. The one regret is that we didnt stay longer...We're already planning our return and will most definitely stay in this house if it's open!!

Spacious Townhome and Great Location!

We stayed at this townhome Mar 29 – Apr 5, 2018. There were 5 adults & 2 kids (ages 3 & 5).

We chose this townhome because of the convenient, safe location, proximity to the beaches, reasonable rates & onsite parking.

LOCATION: Ideal location–an easy walk to ocean & bay beaches. Nice, friendly, well-maintained neighborhood with lots of character. We were lucky, our entire stay was quiet, no loud parties nearby. Nearby businesses (within walking distance): Mission Market, Sara’s Mexican Food, Mission Beach Coffee Break, Liquor Store

TOWNHOME: we had the 2nd and 3rd floors. With 2 active kids, we were mindful of not making too much noise for the tenants on the 1st floor. Very spacious, enough room for everyone to gather as well as private spaces for some solitude. There have been some upgrades that aren’t shown in the photos (cabinetry, granite countertops throughout, updated bed linens & huge dining table). Clean and well-maintained. Wonderful, sunny open living space (kitchen, dining & living room)

KITCHEN: nicely stocked. Could have used more bowls (for breakfast cereal) and small spoons. The owner surprised us with new wine glasses (Thanks, David!)

BEDROOMS: all spacious, especially the loft, lots of closet space, beds were all comfortable. Extra pillows were provided, but we couldn’t find any extra pillow cases…no problem! The owner brought some new ones the next day

BATHROOMS: clean! Great water pressure, plenty of hot water & cabinet space. Hair dryers in each bathroom

LIVING ROOM: plenty of seating

DINING ROOM: huge table, enough seating for all us to dine together

LAUNDRY: we used the washer & dryer every day (packed lightly & saved on checked-bag fees). Detergent provided.

DECK: spent a lot of time on the front deck. We had no rain during our stay, so enjoying the sunny deck every day was a plus!

PARKING: we parked a late-model Hyundai Sonata in the garage and a late-model Nissan Sentra in the outside spot. The outside spot was tight - have someone help you park.

BEACH SUPPLIES: beach chairs & a nice variety of beach toys. Beach towels supplied.

OWNER: David was quick to reply to all of our questions before & after reserving this townhome. He stopped by to make sure everything was going well (and to drop off the new pillow cases & wine glasses). Friendly and professional.

We had a wonderful week in San Diego and would recommend this townhome. Thank you, David!
