Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms (2 master en suite), 3 Baths, Sleeps 6

The only true waterfront rental house with water views from almost every room and a private newly refurbished dock! Very relaxing and natural decor-everything blends in with the beautiful water that is just steps from your back door. When you enter the king size master suite, you will be overwhelmed by the view. It has its own bath and a large glass-walled view with access to a private deck. Enjoy watching dolphins, boats, sunrises and sunsets on the calm waters of Taylor Creek. The newly remodeled second master suite has a queen bed with full bath and water view. The kitchen has an open floor plan with a breakfast bar and a large pine dining table that seats 10 and allows everyone a view of the wild ponies and sailboats. The second story deck with spiral stair affords gorgeous views all the way to the Atlantic ocean and Shackleford Banks-a perfect sunset watching spot for cocktails! You can walk or bike to town everyday or night for lunch and dinner in Beaufort's historic downtown where there is no shortage of restaurants and ice cream parlors. This is a kid-friendly town where streets are all flat and perfect for bicycling.

About Stan Breakell

We fell in love with this town while dropping our oldest son off at Camp Seagull in 2001.

We have brought our 4 boys here since then and they have all grown up loving Beaufort as well. 5 of us got certified for scuba here at Discovery Dive and we tend to make every vacation a diving opportunity. We hope to retire here one day-if we can ever get our boys out of college! We know you will fall in love with Beaufort too!

Stan Breakell purchased this house in 2001

Why Stan Breakell chose Coastal North Carolina

Carrot Island is right across the creek and you can watch the ponies and dolphins from almost any window Private.Dock in backyard that does not even require you to cross the street!. 1 level living. Large windows and open floor plan bring the views all the way into the house. Deep water dock for serious boaters and sailors.

What makes this house unique

You can see the water from the front door all the way through the house. When you walk up the spiral staircase to the second floor deck you know you are living large!

Month Long Stay

  • 5 of 5

Our month long stay at this gem was both relaxing and convenient. The home is spacious and comfortable with amazing views of horses, dolphins and birds. Historic Beaufort is within walking distance and offers opportunities for shopping and coastal dining. Will recommend to family and friends.

October trip

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely home for the second time and just love all things about this property. The views are spectacular and our weather cooperated perfectly. The house is so comfortable and being right on Taylors Creek is ideal because we love to kayak. Horses on the shore and dolphins playing in the creek. What great surroundings. Thank you again Stan for sharing your home. Hope you get to use it soon too. Dee

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind comments. You can understand why we bought it back in 2001. Now I just need to get down there more myself and work on my fishing!

Amazing Beaufort experience!

  • 5 of 5

My family has visited Beaufort annually for decades. Staying at this home was the best way I've found to experience true Beaufort living. We brought out boat and enjoyed the easy dockage right in front of the home. Quiet evenings by the water, enjoying the view of Taylor's Creek while we prepared supper. Not many places do we get up before sunrise on vacation, but it was a must to enjoy the spectacular views of the sunrise, horses, and schools of dolphin moving through the creek. The house is like coming home after a long day fishing or beaching it, not like a condo that you drop your stuff as you pass through. Definitely returning for this taste of paradise.

Wonderful rental for water-loving family!

  • 5 of 5

Great location! Easy bike ride to town. Waterfront pier is excellent-kept a paddle board, dinghy and kayak there all week. Bedrooms are at each corner of the house to allow for privacy.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you had a great time. We are a water family too. We bought the house for the deep water dock, Taylor Creek and the access to the marine preserve for the kids.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us and for your kind remarks. It is a nature lover's paradise with the Rachel Carson Estuarine Preserve at your back door. Kayaks or boats of all kinds are welcomed and advised. Having your own private dock 10 steps from your back door is great.
