About Stan Breakell
We fell in love with this town while dropping our oldest son off at Camp Seagull in 2001. We have brought our 4 boys here since then and they have all grown up loving Beaufort as well. 5 of us got certified for scuba here at Discovery Dive and we tend to make every vacation a diving opportunity. We hope to retire here one day-if we can ever get our boys out of college! We know you will fall in love with Beaufort too!
Stan Breakell purchased this House in 2001

Charming house with magnificent views!
Thanks! We do enjoy watching the boats go by and the Wild Horses grazing along the far bank of Taylor Creek. Not to mention the sunset view.
We had an amazing time and will certainly be back!
Best vacation on Taylor’s Creek!
We absolutely LOVED staying here. The house was perfect for us. The cleaning service didn’t do a good job before we arrived, but Stan made it right. His communication was awesome! We loved the house, location and especially the dock. We brought our boat and went fishing everyday (even when it rained). We will definitely stay again. Maybe for two weeks next time.
Stay for the views!
The views in this house are so amazing you will never want to leave. We found so much to do in Beaufort and enjoyed boating. Having our boat right out the front door was great!
Our home away from home on Front Street
We were thrilled to return the Breakell Cottage for the 4th time since 2015. The location is unbeatable! Where else can you view horses without binoculars, watch boat traffic or dolphins from the living room or decks, view the ocean and shipping channel from the rooftop deck, kayak to the Rachel Carson Reserve in a matter of minutes (go at high tide to gain access to several inlets that are not available during low tide--consult the tide clock in the kitchen!), and walk through the historic district of beautiful homes every morning!
The Breakells' home is tastefully decorated, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need. There is a huge dining table to accommodate family meals, a breakfast area that looks out onto the water, two living room areas, two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, and a third bedroom with twin beds and a separate bath, but it's toward the back of the house and offers privacy. Remember to bring your own towels and sheets--washer and dryer available! Many times, guests will leave spices, etc., so check the kitchen before you go shopping that first day. Kayak rental available from Stan but we've also brought our own.
Thank you again to the Breakells for sharing your beautiful home with us!
Great place to visit
We had a fun yet relaxing time in Beaufort. This house is spacious and well appointed. The water access right out the back door is a real treat! We are looking forward to staying here again sometime.
Thanks for staying with us!
Look out your back door at the wild ponies that roam on the
protected Rachael Carson Preserve across the water. Cape Lookout is a nice round trip in a
day to see the lighthouse. Collect shells on Bird Shoal or Carrot Island.
Ride bikes anywhere your heart desires (just 5min. to town on bikes). It is a nice 10 minute stroll to the downtown docks. Walk to town, have lunch or dinner and see the million-dollar yachts that stop in Beaufort on their way up and down the Intracoastal Waterway and the great Atlantic.
You can go ferrying, kayaking, sailing, walking, bicycling, cruising, shelling, and lounging. You can visit Fort Macon, too. And when no one is looking, you can check your email with free WIFI.
Boat slip with deep water access in front yard! Downtown Historic
Beaufort is a stroll away. There are beaches, state parks, kayaking,
excellent shopping, awesome restaurants, and a ferry to the outer islands. This is a quiet vacation spot for couples and families. Just across the draw bridge is a more-active Morehead City, with miniature golf, theaters, malls and all the touristy activity kids sometimes want. Fishing is excellent and many tournaments are held in Beaufort all year round. Walk or bicycle to the North Carolina Maritime Museum and see Blackbeard the Pirates' recovered artifacts.
There is also a wooden boat-building workshop. Bring your boat and tie
it up to our deep water access dock!
