Nature Lovers have found paradise.

  • 5 of 5

I woke each morning before sunrise, took a steaming cup of coffee 30 steps to the Sweet Springs Preserve to watch the sunrise on Morro Rock, then watched the eagles and egrets forage for breakfast as the sun came up. Once things calmed down a bit--I went back for a second cup of coffee in the hot tub, and watched the birds come to the bay by the thousands--from the hot tub. Later in the day we took the kayaks out on the bay, saw great blue herons resting on the shore, and walked the dunes that were untarnished. This part of the central coast is the only truly unspoiled landscape. This is truly a one of a kind place. It is so nice to find such a comfortable nest in the midst of such natural bounty.

How do I like my coffee? With egrets and eagles, of course. What an incredible find

  • 5 of 5

I woke before sunrise every morning, walked out the door, to a menagerie of egrets, waterfowl, even a bald eagle having breakfast over my head. Don't sleep through this magnificant spectacle, just steps from your door. My toes got a bit chilly in December, so I slipped into the hot tub once the morning sunrise dwindeled .to daylight. This place is one of a kind.

Relaxing get-way for vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely little house! It was so nice sitting outside, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the cool of the breeze. We spent a week around graduation at Cal Poly. It was great to move away from the craziness of SLO and enjoy the quite of Los Osos. The house was a little dated, but all amenities were there. The bed in the master was soooo comfortable. The hot tub so soothing. Walking through the Sweet Springs Estuary brought us closer to nature. Would highly recommend for a relaxing get-away with access to other areas.

Very nice

  • 5 of 5

The house was great! Very clean and roomy. Hot tub is a plus.

So many things to do in the area. We did a lot of sight seeing. We went to Cambria, lots of shops there, cute little town. Went to the mission at San Luis Obispo, also went to a botanical garden in SLO. Recommend going to Ragged Point, the farthest up the coast you can drive before the Hiway 1 road closure. Beautiful place. Good snack bar there for lunch. Make sure you stop to see the Elephant seals!

Cayucos has a nice beach, and the Estero Bluffs State Park is a beautiful place. You can look for moonstones or other nice pebbles at Moonstone beach.

We took the kayaks out. Launched them at the marina at the state Park. You will need a truck to transport them. Good restaurant there by the kayak launch, and stop by the museum there too.

The town of Morro Bay has great shops and restaurants and is right next to the harbor.

Make sure you go out to Morro Rock, there are a lot of Sea Otters that hang out there.

The Elfin Forest is not far away from the house and has a nice boardwalk path.

The Audubon preserve is right next to the house and has a nice path through it.

So many things to do, if you are a nature lover you will like this area.

We cooked dinners at the house, then a glass of wine on the deck or hot tub.

Kye was great to communicate with before the trip, and will get back to you right away if you have any questions.

Thank you Kye for sharing your house with us!

Los Osos Back Bay Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

When we driove up to the house, our first thought was it didn't have much personality. Inside we found a cozy and inviting home. The backyard has a great place to sit and relax or read while looking up gives you a beautiful view of the Back Bay and Morro Bay rock. We enjoyed the backyard spa in the evening to soothe our tired muscles from hiking, shopping and dancing at a wedding reception in Pismo Beach. Location is conveniently located for heading South to Morro Bay, Cambria,, San Simeon and beyond, inland to San Luis Obispo or North to Pismo Beach (where you can drive onto the beach, play in the ocean or sand dunes and more or take a day trip to Solvang or Santa Barbara. We enjoyed our stay and will not hesitate to rent this house again when we are in the area.

Beautiful weather, waterview from the deck, short drive to area beaches and fantastic seafood restaurants. Morning strolls through the adjacent sanctuary, bird watching, even a few deer in the sanctuary on out last night. Highly recommend!
