Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish.
We are leaving today & are all very sad! This is a wonderful place on the planet.
Great house - beautiful view
We loved the house and the sound of the surf and the sunsets over the water. The pool and back yard area is fantastic! Jenny (property manager) was friendly and helpful. The kitchen is a nice space and the dining table and sitting area are comfortable. We had two parents with two children ages 4 and 2 in one bedroom and one parent with one child age 16 in the other. We had a great time!
That said, it is important to note that there was very little beach except at or near low tide, so we didn't really get what we were looking for in terms of a beachfront vacation. We were there in April and apparently there is more beach in the winter, although the one day we went down to dig in the sand we were greeted by a swarm of sand flies that sent us packing (the rumors about horrid bugs are true, but very manageable as they are worst just at dusk and early morning). We had good bodysurfing / boogie boarding right in front of the house - but too much surf for children.
The area is great - cool little town of Aticama just up the road (15 min walk or quick drive) with basic amenities, some good eats and plenty of local flavor. The big beach at Matenchan is just up the road, too, and great for beach time.
Fun, clean, spacious, and comfortable!
We visited Jardin Escondido for Spring Break ‘18 with 4 adults and 4 children over the age of 10. This house was perfect for us. The home is spacious and comfortable. We felt secure and liked the easy access to the main road. It’s located close to San Blas, Las Islitas (our favorite beach), Matanchen, and Aticama. The views from the house are breathtaking. We couldn’t wait to return in the evenings to watch the sunset from the backyard. The owner has taken very good care of the yard and the greenery gives this home it’s charm. Jenny, who manages the property, was awesome communicating with me before and during our stay. I would definitely stay here again.
Other attractions include miles of private beach to sun and surf,
bird watching, kayaking, fishing and hiking. Also a beautiful
waterfall in El Cora (9K North of Playa Los Cocos) is located nearby
and tours, by boat, of the extensive jungle mangroves are available.
Transportation: There is bus service to San Blas on the hour, however
a car is more convienent (car rentals are available at airport).
