About Susan W Gravitt

Husband and wife team, Stan and Susie Gravitt built, own and operate the cottages. Stan is a general contractor on Lookout Mountain. Stan grew up on Lookout and Susie grew up in Chattanooga. Together they make a great team to manage the cottages, welcoming guests from all over the country and even those from other countries.

Susan W Gravitt purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Susan W Gravitt chose Georgia

We bought this property because we love Lookout Mountain and wanted to move back after living off the mountain for several years. After buying it, we realized that it was perfect for vacation rentals, our favorite type place to stay when we travel. We feel it is a great location, out in the country, up on the mountain, but not far from the beautiful city of Chattanooga, TN, "scenic city of the south".

What makes this cottage unique

Because there are 4 cottages in the same location, this is the perfect place for family get-togethers, reuions, youth groups, ball teams, wedding groups, etc. Because they are somewhat spread out, much like a small neighborhood, they also afford privacy for those wanting that. The large central area is great for the kids to run around, throw ball, play tag, etc. The fire pit is enjoyed by many guests (we hear about s'mores a lot) and the gazebo is a great place to picnic or just sit in the glider. Many guest enjoy cooking out on the gas grills or rocking on the porches.

Great getaway!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was in a lovely setting and nicely appointed on top of Lookout Mountain. It is close to several attractions, but is also remote enough for anyone just wanting to get away. The hot tub felt great at the end of a day filled with climbing and hiking. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short due to some very bad storms. The whole mountain lost power for several days. The owner was very helpful in a very stressful situation. If we have the opportunity to go back to this area, we would definitely visit this cabin again. I have already recommended it to a couple of my friends.
