Jewel on the Beaverkill
We have been staying here, once or twice year for the past ten years. It’s a cozy house, right on the river with a few hot spots to fish. Close to good restaurants and all the Catskills have to offer. It is impeccably clean and very comfortable. And a great deal.
The house has a lovely garden and yard, as well as a wonderful view of the river. In fact, we were lulled to sleep to the sound of the river; very calming. Lots of light and space in the home and duly equipped with everything one needs for a wonderful family trip. A very beautiful location!
Wonderful family vacation!
The house was so charming! Our family had a wonderful time playing horseshoes, relaxing on the front porch and tubing down the river! The house was so clean and neat! We will definitely rebook another vacation stay here!!
3 guys enjoyed a great long weekend of fly fishing...Mary is always a pleasure to work with. Her property is close to many great rivers, restaurants, shops, etc... well equipped kitchen and supplies (we do all our dinners at home - grill). Nice beds and linens. If I had to provide any constructive input; hanging closet space in smallest bedroom is a little tight, perhaps and over the door hanger? Bottom line a great location and property!!
Lovely home overlooking the Beaverkill River!
We enjoyed our visit. The house was comfortable and easy to live in.
Would love to visit it again.
Outstanding Place to Stay
My wife, son, and I chose to stay here to enjoy some time relaxing, fishing, and visiting the surrounding Catskill area towns. The home is not far from Roscoe and Livingston Manor. Hancock is an easy 20 minute drive away. The home is also central to all area rivers (with the Beaver Kill out the front door). We settled into the house as if it was our home. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. The owner, Mary, is a delight to work with and incredibly responsive. The home has beautiful hardwood floors, comfortable furnishing, and the eclectic artwork and decorations throughout add a nice touch. Upon entering, the kitchen is straight ahead and the den is immediately on the right. The den flows into a large dining room and the very functional kitchen. If needed, one can sleep comfortably on the futon couch (I did one night to check, and was very comfortable). The kitchen has all the necessary and well-maintained appliances. The downstairs also has a large half bath, pantry, utility closet, and mud room (with washer and dryer). Out back, you'll find a nice patio with a table and chairs, gas and charcoal grill, and plenty of room. Out front, we enjoyed listening to the river flow while relaxing on the large front porch. Like with a few others who have stayed, the Bald Eagle made an appearance for us. Three spacious bedrooms (two with queen beds and one twin) and a full bath occupy the second floor. Mary's home is clean, roomy, solid, and welcoming. I am already looking at dates to book a trip with my two friends with whom I fish regularly. I am looking forward to future stays with family and friends.
