Beautiful cabin with nostalgic decor. Dock on the Suwannee allowed for fishing and watching the river. Great location. The owners were kind. Finding a great place like this that is dog friendly was a bonus. Very peaceful stay.
Old Florida Getaway
This was a very nice cabin in the woods right on the Suwanee River. There are neighbors so it's not completely secluded but it is very quiet and peaceful. The screened back porch is a great place to sit and read on the rocking chair. Living room, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs. There is carpet throughout except in kitchen and bathrooms and carpet looked new. Everything was very clean and comfy, and it was great having a washer and dryer when we came back from paddling and tubing in the nearby springs and rivers. Ichetucknee, a great place to go tubing--and diving with a permit--is very close by. We also enjoyed playing ping pong and Foosball downstairs. The only complaint I have would be that the outside of the cabin was dirty with cobwebs and general yuckiness including in the game room which is downstairs in an unfinished--bare wood--screened area. But hey, it's a cabin in the woods! Billie was great about giving us directions and info on where to go for supplies and activities. High Springs is not too far and we enjoyed an excellent meal at the Great Outdoors Restaurant there. Try the coconut pie--YUM. Mom, dad and the two college kids had a great time. I would definitely recommend this cabin.
The perfect place to stay if you're around Branford and spring hopping!
Paw Paw's place was absolutely gorgeous! The cabin was perfect for a group of 6 people. The porch provides awesome views of the river and trees, not to mention a couple of owl sightings. We put the fire pit to use and it provided perfect lighting for the surrounding area at night. The kitchen worked great and all of the appliances and TVs work perfectly. It was clean and cozy. We are definitely going to be visiting again sometime soon. :-)
Our Stay At PawPaw's was very enjoyable and our small part of Jupiter Jeep Club will put this spot on a definate return list! The accomadations were very nice, off the beaten path, clean, comfortable, and had a cabin/antique homey feel. Thank you to owners Scott and Billie for this awesome place...
Peace & Quiet
Paw Paw's place was just what my mom and I were looking for, peace & quiet. The fact that we could bring our dogs was the selling point for us! The nature, the kind people driving by waving hello, and the warmth of the cottage was just what these 2 city girls (country at heart) were looking to escape to! We drove around the small town, Nanny's cafe is a nice southern cafe, super nice people, if you are looking not to cook for the day/night. And the ichetucknee state park is a must for tubing, beautiful and relaxing. PS don't forget some goggles to peek in the spring water. Billie, the owner was very accommodating, and made us feel even more at home. Thank you!!
Our stay was an exciting experience
We loved our stay at Paw Paw's place. The boys were a little apprehensive when we first arrived because it was night and was very dark. The property is so beautiful, you really feel disconnected from the city life. We went fishing at the river and caught a few cat fish. That was exciting for me because I had never seen a cat fish that big. We would definitely come back and stay at Paw Paw's place.
From the Owner
“We have been vacationing on the Suwannee River for many years. It is a great place for families to enjoy nature, connect with each other and just all around have fun. Paw Paw (Billie's dad) dearly loved this place. When he became ill, he needed to sell it and wanted it to stay in the family. We purchased it and have been renting it to vacationers since. He was proud to have so many families be able to experience the peacefulness and family fun that his family did over the years.”

“There is nothing like having your morning coffee on the screened porch overlooking the slow moving water of the Suwannee River. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you watch the squirrels scurry through the trees, fish jump and see the occasional fisherman pass by. When you're up and ready to go, there are many springs nearby for swimming. You don't want to miss floating down the Ichetucknee River in a tube or on a raft. Canoe the Suwannee or bring your motor boat. Or just stay and home and fish off the dock or play in the water. Grill your supper and have an outdoor meal on the picnic table. Then end the evening with a campfire. Makes for a great nights sleep!!”
