About the property

The Cottage has 4 BRs 2 Baths; "in-law cabin" has double bed, bathroom & kitch

Overlooking picturesque Bartlett's Harbor, this secluded property, set

among spruce trees, wildflowers, and rocky ledges, includes a small

house plus an "in-law cabin." It offers two parties privacy but close

proximity: a lawn separates the two buildings by 50'. Access to two

beaches (rocky and pebble) and the pier, along a dirt road, is a

two-minute walk.

The Barnacle proper has 3 small bedrooms plus a loft under the eaves

(6.5' standing room in center of loft), living/dining area with

wood-burning stove, small kitchen (gas stove, microwave, coffeemaker,

but no dishwasher), bathroom, and deck. The "in-law cabin" is a

one-room efficiency, with a comfy double bed, kitchen area, bathroom.

and washer-dryer. Both have great views, especially of the sunsets

over the Camden Hills.

About Katherine Allen Roth

My elderly parents, Fred and Sue Allen, own the Barnacle, and I manage the rentals. They live in California, near UCLA. My dad's family has owned property on Barlett's Harbor since 1914, and they both continue to fly east each summer. Since I live closer, in NJ, tenants can contact me easily. I am a piano teacher. My husband and I have a teen-age son, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Katherine Allen Roth purchased this cottage in 1960

Why Katherine Allen Roth chose Maine
