Very Peaceful

  • 4 of 5

The lake home is in a beautiful location. The serenity was greatly appreciated whether sitting on the large deck, sitting down by the dock, or taking the kayaks out on the water. Early in the morning, the loons were amazing as they popped up by the dock. Our 3 year grandson called it his Maine home as it is homey. The interior was rustic with basic amenities, but was comfortable. The home has definitely seen many good family times. Cell service with Verizon was sketchy at the house. There wasn't wi-fi, but we were able to get some service with the Veriaon jetpack. We enjoyed visiting the Lincolnville Beach and experienced many of Maine's beautiful coastal scenery. Acadia National Park was unbelievable. Archers in Rockport was our favorite eatery. Camden is a beautiful town with good restaurants and shops, however the Waterfront restaurant in Camden had great atmosphere, but the entrees were so, so, for the price. If you're looking for a spot to relax and get away from everything, this property is it.

Wonderful location, lovely lake

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay for one week in August at this home. The location is fantastic, a clean, relatively quiet lake just a few miles from Camden and Lincolnville Beach to enjoy all the coast has to offer. The fishing was quite good -- my 4 year old caught a 12 inch small mouth on the dock! - and the lake was just the right size to explore in a kayak.

The house itself was very clean and well kept, and the kitchen well stocked with supplies, with a very classic Maine lake house feel and an amazing deck overlooking the pond. The lawn was a great feature, and we used the two kayaks and hammock countless times! The owner was also very responsive.

The only caution, which may not be a problem for some: cell service was very spotty (enough to receive calls from outside, but not data and no service inside for us), and no wifi.

Vacation on Norton pond

  • 5 of 5

Excellent , would recommend it to anyone interested in the Camden area. Norton pond was great for fishing with the pass way into megunticook lake. Home was very clean and well set up to just stay a cottage and relax with kayak's provided.. Hiking Fernald'd neck was very clearly marked and easy walking.
