Keauhou Punahele is rated by the book 'Hawaii Big Island Revealed' as a 'solid gold value' and 'it's also a real gem, too'. Keauhou Punahele is located in Keauhou, a beautiful upscale,quite and relaxing area of Kailua-Kona with low traffic. The complex is well maintained with beautifully landscaped grounds next to the eighth fairway of the Kona Country Club. The buildings are constructed of cement therefore maintaining a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. Gentle tradewinds, ceiling fans and concrete construction keep this condo at a pleasant temperature without air conditioning. The large pool and jaccuzzi provide a quiet, relaxing retreat.

This luxury condo is very roomy at 1500 sq. ft. with vaulted ceilings, and is well appointed with new stainless steel appliances in the remodeled kitchen(2016). The master bath was recently remodelled with a large walk-in shower and double sinks. The second and third bathrooms were remodeled in 2015. New carpeting and drapes were installed in 2016. It is in excellent condition as the owners had lived in it . The views from the spacious lanai are of the ocean and golf course. It is located only minutes from Keauhou Bay where boats leave for snorkeling, whale watching, sunset cruises and diving. Kayak rentals are also available. From the nearby Sheraton Hotel( 15 min. walk), Manta Rays can be seen in the evenings. The Kona Country Club offering an18 hole championship course is only a quarter mile away.Next door is a tennis complex with numerous rental courts and equipment. The nearest shopping center is just a mile away with a supermarket, restaurants, shops and a movie complex.

Beaches and great snorkeling are only minutes away. Right outside the complex are quiet areas for walking and jogging.

Our two weeks plus vacation was all the more enjoyable and memorable thanks to this wonderful accomodation we were fortunate enough to secure. The condo was bright, clean and spaceous, and the kitchen was stocked with all the dishes, utensils and cooking items we needed. We put the washer/dryer and beach gear ( beach towels, umbrella, coolers, grass mats and snorkel gear) to good use. A quiet setting, at night we enjoyed dinners on the lanai overlooking the golf course and watched the sun go down. I look forward to a return visit!

The condo is exactly how it's pictured. It was a wonderful experience to stay for a week with my family of 7. It was fully furnished with the essentials needed for a vacation. It's also located near Keauhou Shoping Center, so if you need anything it's only a few minute drive. The layout of each room was quite spacious. Everyone slept comfortably in each ones bed. The bathrooms were spectacular and very spacious. The kitchen had up to date appliances and was quite roomy. The living room was mesmerizing. It was very spacious with the vaulted ceiling and the double sliding doors that lead to the lanai. Each room had a fan, but we rarely used it. As the breeze kept us cool, from leaving the windows and sliding doors open. But the kicker is the lanai. The views it gives you is breathtaking. You're able to see the ocean and you get an up close view of #8 hole of Kona Country Club. Overall our stay at Larry & Tricia's condo was awesome and I would highly recommend a stay at their place!! Mahalo for the stay!

A home away from home in paradise

I recommend Larry and Trisha’s place If you are looking for a home away from home in paradise. - Larry and Trisha seemed to anticipate our needs. Prior to our arrival they sent information about the island, the condo and the surrounding area. On our day of arrival, they touched base with us to make sure we knew how to get into the condo. We were welcomed with a bowl of fresh lemons and limes. We arrived late at night and had a question. Larry responded to our text and followed up with a call to make sure we had everything we needed.

- The condo was sparking clean with updated kitchen, bathrooms and flooring. We spent a month at the condo to vacation and for me to practice working from home from Hawaii. We had everything we needed from the loft office, kitchen, bathroom and laundry.

- We ate outside on the lanai that overlooks a golf course and the ocean. We grilled out almost every night when we ate at home. Watching the sunsets never got old.

- We hosted friends for 10 days during our stay and the condo was plenty big enough for the four of us. We could have easily accommodated another couple upstairs.

- The condo was equipped with extras for us to enjoy from a shelf of books, dvds, games and jig saw puzzles. I love doing puzzles at the beach and completed two of them during our stay. Larry stopped by on our second day to meet us and spent time reviewing the best beaches and snorkel locations on the island. We had a great time exploring his suggestions.

- The condo is located within walking distance to the Sheraton that has a wonderful luau. There is also a farmers market on Wednesdays on the grounds of the Sheraton with food and locally made goods. - There are so many different beaches and bays, we tried a different one almost every other day. In the afternoons we headed to the pool for a refreshing dip and a soak in the hot tub. In the evenings, the complex has a quiet time from 10pm to 8am which makes sleeping with all the windows open a plus. I loved waking up to the singing birds as the sun rose on the other side of the mountain.

- The condo is in a great location south of Kona only 30 minutes or less from the airport depending on the time of day. The Costco is 20 minutes away and was stocked with local produce and fresh fish. The gas price at Costco was the lowest we found on the island with extended hours. There is a grocery store, movie theater, and multiple restaurants less than 2 miles from the condo.

Great condo on the Big Island

We recently stayed in this condo with three couples for 10 days. It worked out perfectly providing enough space for everyone. The lanai is very spacious and the grill at this unit is very convenient allowing for grilling meals right on the lanai. Larry is a wonderful owner as he lives on the island and meets you to answer any questions regarding the condo. Couldn't have been happier with the accommodations.

Great Location

Keauhou Punahele is the last complex at the end of Ali'i Dr. and this particular condo unit is in the building at the southernmost end which makes it very peaceful and quiet. Large 2 bdrm unit with loft makes for a very spacious living space. Very large lanai with BBQ overlooking the golf course makes for a great place to just hang loose. Super convenient to have your own grill rather than having to share at a common BBQ area like at most condo complexes. A big +++ for those who like to grill their meals.

Larry the owner answered all emails promptly before we booked with him and was around to meet & greet us when we arrived. Having the owner live in Kona is a huge +++ in case anything goes wrong during your stay. The dryer went kaput during our stay and Larry had a new dryer delivered the next day. Talk about service!

Thank you Larry & Tricia for a wonderful stay. Will see you again!

Very homey condo

This condo is in a beautiful quiet neighborhood, conveniently located close to a small shopping area with a grocery store, drug store, post office, restaurants. It is close to downtown Kona without the noise and congestion. There is plenty of room for adult children and in-laws to have their own space! The lanai is spacious with a beautiful view and plenty of seating. I really appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. A full size washer and dryer was so nice and convenient. The condo has plenty of beach towels and other beach necessities such as umbrelllas, beach chairs, coolers, snorkel gear, noodles, boogie boards. We were provided with lists of local shopping, restaurants which was very helpful and the owners made us feel very welcome. The coffee pot cracked during our stay and was immediately replaced by the owner. The complex is also very well maintained with a beautiful clean pool area. Several times we were the only guests at the pool which was very enjoyable and relaxing. I would definately stay here again when we are on the big island and in fact, I planning my return before I left!

Great Place

Condo is in excellent location. Beautiful view from lanai, quiet and very safe. Walking distance to Keauhou Bay and Sheraton.

Clean, cozy, and spacious!! We were 3 couples, so having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was wonderful. The kitchen was clean and had lots of dishes and cookware along with spices, oil, sugar, etc. Lots of extra napkins, trash bags, and other basic necessities.

We appreciated the supply of beach towels and ice chests to take with us on our outings. Having a washer and dryer to wash towels in after going to the beach was great.

Larry and Tricia provided lots of recommendations for shopping and restaurants of all sorts.

We enjoyed your condo!!

The Master bedroom has a King size bed, TV and walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed. The third bedroom is located in a very large loft with a full and single bed, a third bath and a den area with DSL internet service. All bathrooms have showers with a very large walk-in shower in the master bath. Additional amenities include phone, cable TV, DVD, stereo radio/ CD player, full kitchen with microwave, smooth top stove/oven, full size refrigerator,and dishwasher, full size washer and dryer, and iron and ironing board. Beach towels and ice chest are provided along with children's beach toys. The lanai has a table and chairs and a gas B-B-Q. Boogie boards are available by request.
