'Perfect 'Home-from-Home' for a Family Vacation in SB' July 2011
The location is great (close to Downtown and the beach yet in a quiet residential area up on Mesa with a great view of the mountains) as are the house and lot (very family friendly with enclosed back yard, ping-pong table, hot tub etc.). Truly 'Home-from-Home'. - Cathal, Denmark
'Santa Barbara Rental - Perfect' December 2011
We rented the house for a week during which our daughter got married. So comfortable and spacious. The house and yards couldn't have been more wonderful for ourselves, the kids with us, and family and friends who visited. The home is complete with everything you need...and more. Ping pong and the hot tub were particular big hits. And fenced yard for our dog! - Bonnie and Ric, Bay Area
'Charming...just perfect!' March 2012
Really nice, cozy place with a great kitchen and toys and movies for the kids. My wife was happy the kitchen had a window to the yard where the kids played so she could cook and they could play. We played ping pong almost every day and liked having a hot tub too. I liked the wireless Internet - was able to take a couple more days vacation that way. We walked to Hilda Rae Park a couple times (took five minutes) where they had great views of the city and good play structure for our five year old. Thank you! - Scott and Judy Mae
'Pleasantly Surprised' December 2011
We had never vacationed using a vac home and we were really happy with what we landed. The house was in a quiet neighborhood and the way the house sits, we didn't have any neighbors, yet we were in a neighborhood. We loved the views (wow!) and the gated yard for our toddler was perfect. She loved the hot wheels car and the dvds. The beds were comfortable and the home was really well-stocked in the linens and kitchen department.
Thanks Lynn and Scott, we'll be back. - Gay and Tom Sheegay, Boise
'Cute, Nice Views' October 2011
We loved this cottage! Just girls for this trip and it was a perfect location. Had fun playing board games, sitting on the patio watching the sunset and bbq'ing. They have a good collection of DVDs. It was close to downtown (loved the shopping) and even though we didn't go to the beach on this trip we noticed they have a boogie board and other beach stuff. We've already planned a repeat girls' weekend for July 2012! Thanks Robinsons, neat place. - Cindy, Jennifer, Megan and Bryce

Your hosts have been offering two vacation homes for nine years and love meeting guests and helping them create a comfortable and memorable stay.
We love what we do and take great pride in providing a clean, comfortable and well maintained place that will accentuate and improve time away from home.
Lynn purchased this house in 1999
We chose all of our homes because of their neighborhood locations, proximity to downtown and the beach and amazing views.
Our favorite spot at this particular home is the patio where birds sing, the sun sets and an evening dinner at the patio table is easy with the kitchen close by. It's a relaxing location and when we can get in (very ifew openings these days) we thoroughly enjoy our stay.
Comment from TripAdvisor.com:
"We love our February home-away-from-home on Calle Cortita in Santa Barbara. We especially love the location of this small house, in the hills overlooking the city of Santa Barbara. We love getting away from Wisconsin winters and living in Santa Barbara in a neighborhood where we can walk to wonderful stores, to the Ocean, downtown for lunch. We love winter walking without worries about ice and snow. We love looking at the sky over the mountains as we sit at the breakfast table in the mornings. We love the patio at our little house in the hills. This is our Feb. home."
We stayed for a week in this place and had a great time. The house isn't huge, but there was plenty of space for us especially because of the patio and outdoor furniture which, being right off the living room and kitchen, was like another 500 square feet of living space.
The decor is super cute. We've not experienced a vacation home this well-stocked in our six years of vacation home stays.
Ping Pong was fun as was the hot tub - jets were good at soothing sore muscles after our sailing and body surfing at the beach.
We took walks to the Village for groceries and dinner. If you like to park your car and walk, this house a good one. The "Village" - as they call it - is 15 minutes and uphill on the way home, great after stuffing yourself at Alcazar (tapas bar) or Sczechuan Chinese - yumm
Lynn is responsive and quick to help when asked. She is easily accessible and the place is great.
We had the best vacation in a long time. Gorgeous setting, cozy home with all the amenities of home and then some. Lynn the owner was both gracious and unobtrusive. We will definitely return
Good location, few recommendations: wifi rarely worked during our stay, trash and recycling were not emptied prior to our visit making it difficult to keep our trash organized, shower water pressure was poor when attempting to use hot water. Accommodations were nice, two bedrooms were very large and spacious.
We stayed at this cute little house for a weekend getaway. The check in / check out process is easy. It has a nice lay out and would be great for a family.
Lots of stuff stocked in the kitchen to make meals - although like most vacation rentals (we travel and rent quite a bit) you have to hunt for stuff as things are sort of thrown into drawers in a big mish mash, but not a deal breaker - it was easy to find what was needed.
If you want to walk to State Street this isn't really the spot for you - but it's a quick car ride away and just down the hill is anything you could need as far as supplies go.
The house was very clean and it was lovely to sit with the French doors open and watch the blue jays and woodpeckers and the mountains of SB.
The only drawback for us was the state of the lawn in the yard all around the property. Look, I'm a native California, I get that grass is a no go with the drought, but dead brown grass and dirt is just so bad aesthetically. We didn't use the hot tub, or the outdoor table, or the ping pong because it was just super uninviting out there which is a pity because it really should be a huge part of the rental experience. Digging up the dead grass and putting down fake grass, ground cover, DG or even pea gravel would be better than looking at that. Not to mention the toll it takes on the carpets if you have people tracking dust and dirt in and out.
Anyway, that would probably be the only reason to say we didn't love the house 100%, other than that it's nice place and the owners were very nice to deal with.
We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation to Santa Barbara while staying in Lynn's beautiful beach home. We are a family of 4 and we felt very comfortable here. It was clean, quiet, cozy & had lovely decorations & views, just as described. It was a close drive to everything, beaches, shopping, Mission, Zoo, but was far enough away to be in a nice, quiet neighborhood to get away from it all. We really enjoyed the ping pong table, spa and boogie boards. This is a great place to stay while vacationing in Santa Barbara. Thank you Lynn for such a wonderful home to stay in away from home!
