This home is a true sanctuary. Luxurious, lakefront property on Schroon Lake with plenty of privacy. Last home on a quiet deadend road, nestled on 7 private acres.

Very unique level property to lake. Front lawn is perfect for the sports minded. Park-like setting. Play soccer, football, tag etc, in the front yard.

Great Stay- I would highly recommend this location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 and dog stayed here in May 2011 for 7 days. We loved it, beach area is on the property, kayaking, kids were safe because the shoreline starts off at 6 inches and gradually drops off after a while. Dog was able to swim with us. Local Karaoke bar "the wolf" was a lot of fun. We fished and did some target shooting in Chestertown about 10 minutes away, also visited Lake George which is 15 minutes away and Saratoga .

Owner's Response: Kitchen updated in 2011 with new stainless steel 5-burner dual fuel stove, convection oven and stainless steel refrigerator. Gradual slope to deeper water great for children direcly in front of house (no roads to cross). Plus 1 minute walk to community access beach with sandy bottom and less gradual slope.

Nice Property

  • 3 of 5

The home is in very good condition, and the property is very peaceful. The house was clean, and most living was on the first floor. Upstairs there was only 1 bedroom, which made it extremely private. Both bathrooms are on the first floor. One is small, so it is good for kids. The kitchen was adequate for our needs, as we like to BBQ. I loved the old sink, but the oven, even though it is vintage, was not practical. The 2 oven parts are extremely tiny, and new pots and pans would be nice. I spent more time scrubbing kitchen items before we even used them! If you plan on cooking outside, no need to worry, and the stovetop was safe.

If you intend on fishing, you do need a boat. This place does not have a dock, but there is a mooring. The lake is VERY SHALLOW for a long distance out, so even fishing off shore was not possible. The lake bottom was muddy, and you kicked up all of it when you waded and walked. It was a chore to get to waist-level water! Needless to say, swimming was not easy. Besides, who wants to be in murky water like that.

We ave been renting homes in the Adirondacks for many years, and I do love the homes with charm. I did like the house overall as well as the property. We used the firepit and wood stove nightly, and the beds were comfy. I was very disappointed with the lake and kitchen. I now know I do have to ask more specific questions about the lake and fishing when inquiring about a property. This was the priciest home we ever rented, perhaps I was expecting better lake conditions.
