House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6
We invite you to experience our newer vacation home, located on the north end of Fort Myers Beach (where all the action is), on a saltwater canal. Enjoy fishing from the dock, walk to the beach (1 block from 7 miles of white sand beaches)or shopping in Times Square. Enjoy the numerous restaurants or dancing without having to worry about driving. Great action for both the kids and adults. All are in close walking distance.
An artist from California built the home in 1998. The furnishings/decor is Shabby Chic with antiques, faux finished walls, Mexican tiles, and an out door lanai. Plus a new fully programmed salt water pool/spa added in 2004 includes a closed in cage and an added deck off the upstairs living area for more outdoor private enjoyment and party space. A fully equipped remodeled kitchen in 2013 with lots of seating accommodates any sized occasion or holiday needs. You will feel warm and cozy here. But please, no smokers or spring breakers allowed!
If you would like to bring a boat, you can use the dock, at no extra charge.
If you enjoy bird-watching/listening, there is an amazing array of birds to view right from the deck. I have seen blue herons, night herons, egrets, pelicans and osprey. Every once in a while you might see a neighborhood otter, dolphin, or manatee in the canal. It is rare that you don’t see a dolphin while taking a walk on the beach. A walk to the tip of Bowditch Point (north point of Fort Myers Beach) and back takes about 1 hr. and 10 min. A walk I like to do once a day for both mind and body. Or just sit and enjoy the sun, warm water, shelling, or whatever your mood? The daily sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico should not be missed.
We highly recommend Casa Roxanna and hope to return in the future!
About the Owner
I'm an artist living in the Bay area of California, but have been coming to FL for over 30 years with my family who were snow birds from the Philadelphia area. I built Casa Roxanna in 1998 and have been sharing it with guests ever since. My sister lived next door and when my son was small we used to come for all holidays, but now he is grown so we usually spend the month of November there were we enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving with family and friends.
4.8 based on 8 traveler reviews
We had a terrific stay at Casa Roxanna over the New Year holiday. Roxanne was very wonderful to work with and accommodated us on short notice. The house has everything guests could need and is in a great location. We really enjoyed the pool and the short walk to the beach and surrounding restaurants. This was a week well spent!
We highly recommend Casa Roxanna and hope to return in the future!
beautiful property great location
My family had the pleasure of staying in Casa Roxanna last month. The booking process was very easy. The owner made the instructions very clear and was easy to contact if needed. The owners thought of everything a traveling family would need. We flew to Florida so conveniences we like to have at the beach were provided.(beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, plastic cups, towels, snorkeling gear, etc.) The house itself is walking distance (i would guess 2-5 blocks) to beach, restaurants, bars, times square, shopping. The beds were very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were a wonderful place to unwind after day trips and relax at night. The neighborhood was quiet. The furnishings are a little outdated could use a remodel soon but not a huge deal. The water pressure in the master bath is weak and although the washer is brand new it is so loud when running.
As far as the town goes, it is busy and loaded with tourist. If you are looking for that then it is perfect for you. Personally I liked Naples (much classier) but not a walkable city. I also really liked Sanibel and Captiva Islands. If I were to go back to the area I would stay on the Island. Short drive there 20 minutes. We enjoyed the food at The Beached Whale, Heavenly Biscuit, Doc Ford's and Reese's. We did take a boat trip to Cayo Costa State Park from Captiva Island. It was pretty but the water is not as beautiful as other places we have visited so we were not able to snorkel at all.
Overall we had a wonderful stay at the property and a great family vacation. Thank you to the hosts Roxanna and Robert
PERFECT IN EVERY WAY
Our family of five just returned home from a 9 night stay at Casa Roxana. There are so
many things we loved about it: Plenty of beach chairs, towels, and some toys and fishing gear as well; walk to a beautiful beach (don't have to pay $10 for parking) close to times square for some night life, convenient to shopping, and beautiful sunsets every evening. Loved the "take a penny, leave a penny" provisioning...everything for convenience is already there...spices, condiments, paper products, etc. Only needed to buy the food we
needed and any extras we left behind for others' use. The home is decorated in such a manner, that you feel totally at home. Not pretentious, but comfy and homey. Then, last but by no means least, the king size bed in the master was AMAZING. I have chronic back
issues and slept like a baby every single night. Beyond comfortable. So to sum it up, yes we would recommend Casa Roxana, and would return in a heartbeat!
Relaxing wonderful place
My husband and I stayed here and you couldn't ask for a more relaxing place, including hot tub and pool. We walked to Times Square to eat out and shop. Owner is so great to work with and keeps a wonderful clean house.
We sat a lot on the veranda and read books. We will definitely come here again.
went with our children and had a great time,
Great location lots of room and walking distance to beach and times square, lots of neat pubs close by
Everything your looking for!
This is the rental property you are looking for. Everything is beautiful and clean and neat. Location is perfect! I rent a lot of houses and this is by far the best. Pool is clean, hot tub is spotless and house is immaculate. Roxanne cares ALOT for her guests and properties.
From the Owner
“Casa Roxanna is a sweetheart of a house with all the amenities for entertaining. The kitchen is fully equipped and remodeled in Dec. 2013 with lots of counter space for a buffet like party with plenty of seating. When the weather is not too hot, you can open up the 3 sets of French doors, turn off the air conditioner and the inside becomes part of the outside with open deck, more seating and tables, plus you are inside a 2 story cage, so bugs are not a worry. It is very pretty at night to watch the sunset and then the property is illuminated with the lighted pool and landscaped areas. You can bring a boat, fish off of the deck, walk to the beach or Times Square...where all the action is...is minutes away. We love it. Note: a 3 week maximum stay and during high season (Nov. thru April), I rent from Sat. to Sat. During the off season renting mid week is OK. One small dog welcome too. Thank you!”
Activity and Interests
About Fort Myers Beach: Fun for the Whole Family!
Fort Myers Beach, Florida, located on Estero Island, has been dubbed the “best beach in the world,” because of soft currents, shallow water, and gently sloping terrain (gentle surf is great for small children). Much like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Fort Myers Beach is filled with tee-shirt shops, restaurants, and gift boutiques.
Outdoor activities, like water skiing, parasailing, boating, fishing, golf, and seven miles of beautiful beaches, the main attraction.
Fort Myers Beach is also near other great vacation possibilities.
Sanibel Island, a short ferry rides away. Close to 80 miles south,
Everglades National Park makes a great day trip. And to get a great
historical perspective on all of Southwest FL trek less than twenty
miles into Fort Myers and see the Fort Myers Historical Museum.
Whatever your taste, Fort Myers Beach is a perfect vacation spot for the whole family.
Fort Myers: Royal Palms & Industrial Legends
Fort Myers, Florida was built along the Caloosahatchee River as one
of the bases of operations during the Seminole Indian Wars. Fort
Myers was named honor of Colonial Abraham C. Meyers, the son-in-law of the commander of Fort Brooke in Tampa. Located in beautiful Lee County, Fort Myers has activities to whet any taste bud.
With its temperate climate and close proximity to both the
Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico, Fort Myers is a
fisherman’s dream comes true. Snook, tarpon, redfish, spotted sea
trout, sheepshead, jack crevalle, shark, barracuda, mackerel, and
mangrove snapper are all prime targets for both inshore and off
shore fisherman. Golf courses are also in abundant supply.
Eastwood Gulf Course, designed in 1976, has been listed by Golf
Digest as one of the best public couples in the United States.
No visit to Fort Myers is complete without stopping off at the home
of one of area’s most famous citizens, Thomas Edison. He ambled
into Fort Myers and decided to build a winter home here. The
Edison/Ford Winter Estates museum houses Edison’s home, “Seminole Lodge,” and is now a registered historical landmark. The property is also home to Edison’s laboratory, his Botanical Garden,
his “electric launch”, the boat he used to entertain guests to the
estate, and the Edison Museum, which exhibits artifacts used by the inventor, as well as his collection of automobiles. Tours are
available to show visitors the estate, and enlighten listeners on
Edison’s inventions (and exploits). You have heard about the light
bulb, but did you know he invented wax paper and tin foil?
Edison’s next door neighbor didn’t do too badly her himself, Henry
Ford bought the property adjacent to Edison, and the two magnate’s families wintered together in Fort Myers. Ford’s estate, “Mangoes”, is separated from Edison’s by a “Friendship Gate”,which came to symbolize the close bond between the two tycoons. They entertained luminaries such as Charles Lindbergh, Harvey Firestone, naturalist John Burroughs, Nobel Laureate Alexis Carrel among others.
Fort Myers is rich in the history of Southwest Florida. A must-see
for any history buff is the Fort Myers Historical Museum. Built
from a converted railroad depot and opened in 1982, the museum
covers the history of the Calusa and Seminole Indians, Spanish
battlements including a cannon of the early 1700’s, and models of
the original fort used in the Second Seminole War. Military history
is also the focus for the museum’s WWI and WWII display, which
includes a recovered P-39 Airacobra fighter plane.
Due to its central location, Fort Myers is a great spot to base a
Florida vacation. Fort Myers Beach is almost fifteen miles away,
and Sanibel Island, and its pristine white beaches, is barely twenty.
Fort Myers, known as the “City of Palms”, for the 1800 royal palms
(given first by Thomas Edison) that line the streets on McGregor
Boulevard, is both a monument to the Old South, and a bridge to a
new Florida that thrives on energy and vitality; a town where you
can simultaneously step back in time, and run headlong into the

From the Owner
“The decor is shabby chic with faux finished walls, Mexican tile pavers throughout with bamboo floors in the 3 bedrooms, family antiques and fun art collectibles from all over the world. It is different from the typical Floridian style of furnishings and colors. A homey and comfortable home for a family of 4-6 people or it flows for a party if you have family or friends in the area (only sleeps 6 comfortably though). The location is quiet with easy access to everything. Some guests have been coming for over 10 years.”
