This is a wonderfully situated cottage, convenient to the town & harbor & also within walking distance of an excellent restaurant. The cottage is cozy, clean & adequately appointed. The landlord is attentive & courteous. National Seashore beaches are nearby, as are kettle ponds & town beaches.

The best part of Cozy Cottage is the very private wraparound deck overlooking the marsh, where each night of good weather reveals an astonishing sunset. Romantic, relaxing and magical place to stay. Can't wait to go back!!!

Please BEWARE

  • 1 of 5

I booked the trip through the Home Away website and the owner Robert Nazarian. He told me to send him a check because that would save me the fees, I trusted him and that was my Big Mistake. I arrived at 9:20 PM The house was pitch black and the electricity was not working. I went back to my car and tried to call the owner and got a disconnected message. I sat in my car trying to find another hotel for the night but everything was booked. I pulled out at 12:30 AM because without lights it was pitch black. (However the restaurant one door down was brightly lit.) I ended up spending the night in a hotel lobby. The following morning I tried to reach the owner, but still the same message. I went to the cottage, still no electricity, ( FYI: the bedroom does not have air conditioning and to leave you have to pull your car out backwards on route 6, you cannot turn around) At that point I got into my car and booked a reservation for a hotel for the week I was alone and was scheduled to attend a conference). I then learned a transformer had blew in Wellfleet. When I finally reached the owner he wanted to talk about how hard the power outage was for him and his wife. He said his phone lost power and he didn't come to check on me because he thought I had arrived at 2PM. He insinuated it was my fault because I came later. When I asked for refund he began screaming saying "I was a horrible person and I would never see a penny of my money again." While the power outage was not his fault, he could have called me to tell me about the outage. Maybe brought a flash light. He has not returned my calls and I have just lost $1200.00. Please don't make the same mistake I did.

Owner's Response: All this individual had to do was stay in the home, maybe go to bed and when she awoke she would have found the electricity had been restored as we did. The restaurant that was lit has a generator so the food will not spoil if there is a power outage, not hard to figure out for most, no other lights were on in this entire section of town and the outage ended at 9:00 the next morning. Why would anyone sit in their car from 9:00PM till midnight when the cottage was open for her and very safe! There are candles and a flashlight at the cottage and there is adequate space to turn around to get on our two lane street.I contacted her in the morning after reading her nasty email that I received demanding her money back, I did return her security as that was all she was entitled to. I tried to explain we were all in the same situation and she would not stop screaming. I asked her to stop screaming and let me explain and then she could speak, she kept screaming and I said if you do not stop screaming I will hang up on you, she kept screaming out of control and I hung up, this is why I decided there would be no more contact with her. She has written this review simply because of not getting a refund and has filled it with untruths. We have no control of power being lost in half the town. We lost ours as well and made it through the night. The cottage has air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan and a stand up fan, view the pictures on my site and judge for yourself is she is being truthful. She is being vindictive and threatened she would write a scathing review if I would not return the fee. Had she called the next morning saying she had an uncomfortable night I would have gladly returned the first nights charge. Reviews can be a very helpful tool for a potential renter but only if they are truthful, this one is most definitely not.

2nd year staying at the cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was as advertised. Neat, clean and very comfortable. It is set in an extremely peaceful and private location. It is conveniently located, almost next door to Moby Dick's restaurant, making rainy night dinners easy to get to. Wellfleet has much to offer; lovely beaches, galleries and a wonderful library. The owner is on top of things and is available. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone seeking a peaceful and quiet vacation on Cape Cod.
