About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 4 Sleeps

"Rancho Relaxo" (yes, there is a story behind the name) is a comfortable, clean and cozy cabin, located in the popular summer resort community of Scotch Creek, on the sunny north side of Shuswap Lake. The cabin has tons of character and will provide you with a completly relaxing and fun vacation. It is absolutely perfect for a small family or a romantic get away.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, shawdirect satellite TV with piles of channels, DVD, and CD player. The two queen sized beds are very comfortable and are supplied with linens, comforters and pillows. The cabin is one big room with a wall and curtains seperating the living areas from the bedroom area. The other queen bed is in the living room area with a wall and curtain as well. For this reason, the cabin is best suited for a couple or a couple with children. There is a shower (no bath tub) in the bathroom. The front deck is completly covered for your outdoor entertaining and BBQ'ing (barbeque and propane supplied).

The cabin is situated on a beautiful, grassy, treed and privately owned double lot, on a quiet street away from the highway, with plenty of room for parking (even your boat), picnicing, volleyball, badminton and bocce. There is a set of bocce balls for you to use and a sunken, private fire pit. Bring some firewood with you or you may purchase firewood locally. Quite often however, there are local fire bans during the summer months. Check the website, www.bcwildfire.ca for updated information.

The lake is a very short walk (a few minutes), where you will find the Provincial Park, a boat launch, a park with a playground, picnic tables and a swimming beach. You do not have to cross the highway to reach the lake. Everything you need for a fun and comfortable holiday is waiting for you at Rancho Relaxo. If there is anything you feel you require, just let us know and we will do our best to make you happy. We are a short drive away.

Check in is 3 pm Saturday and check out is 10:30 am Saturdays.

Please email us for detailed directions to the cabin if you need them. The address is 4192 South Ashe Crescent in Scotch Creek.

Bath towels, kitchen and bed linens are supplied. Bring your own beach towels. Please ensure you leave the cabin as you find it, clean and tidy for the next guests. If you choose not to leave it clean and tidy, you can choose to pay an optional cleaning fee of 150$. The barbeque, if not left clean is 25$.

Bookings are weekly Saturday to Saturday during the summer months. Please ask about staying for lessxthan a week. We require a 350$ deposit when you reserve to secure your booking. This is completly refundable upon departure after we check out the cabin.

The Vacation Rental website shows a booking fee. This is a "booking with confidence", which is a service they offer. You pay this seperately and directly to them. Please read about this.

For my previous and future guests with questions about this booking fee, please call or text me directly at 250-318-3235. Especially if it is something that is new to you and we can talk about it.

The refundable deposit, rent, pet fee and optional cleaning fees are paid to us. The refundable deposit is paid at the time of booking by mailing a check or by email bank transfer. Once received, your tentative booking is reserved.

The rent and other fees are payable to us by cash upon arrival.

There is an additional 40$ pet fee as well if you choose to bring your pet with you. We ask that you bring a kennel if you are going to leave your pet in the cabin alone.

There is plenty of room to pitch a tent or bring an RV, if you would like to have other guests join you. The fee for an RV is 25$ per night. Tents are 15$ per night.

Rates are based on occupancy of 4 people in the cabin. Extra guests are 25$ per night.

Please enquire about booking less than one week.

About Brenda Bryan

We built our Scotch Creek cabin using all recycled materials in 1996 and used the cabin for our weekend getaways for 10 years. In 2005 we sold our home in North Vancouver and bought another cabin in Celista, 7 kilometers away from our Scotch Creek cabin. We now live in Mexico during the winter months and in Celista from April until November. We started renting our Scotch Creek cabin in 2005. It is our love of everything mexican that inspired the design of the cabin.

Brenda Bryan purchased this cabin in 1996

Why Brenda Bryan chose Shuswap Lake

Rancho Relaxo is perfect for a couple with or without children or pets. It is on a private double lot and not in a complex. The property is entirely yours to use.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is located in the heart of a quiet residential area with mostly summertime folks visiting the area. It is on a double lot so there is plenty of room to have fun. The property is very shaded with huge trees so there is always shaded areas in the hot summer months. The best part of the property is the sunken private firepit area. It is also located a very short walk to the Scotch Creek Provincial park and public swim area. There is also a dog friendly area at the beach.

Rancho Relaxo

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I showed up at "Rancho Relaxo" late in the evening after a very long drive to Scotch Creek from Northern Alberta. I was trying to get a wireless signal for my computer to get online to retrieve my contact information, but it was fruitless. As me and my husband were becoming more frustrated and looking for SOMEONE in the area that knew our contact, she called to see if we had arrived safely!!! What a relief! We then got the necessary directions for the cabin and met the contacts husband there who then gave us a tour of the cabin and some important information for staying cozy while there.

All in all, our stay at "Rancho Relaxo" was a very positive one and VERY relaxing!!! The cabin is set up very nicely with EVERYTHING that one will need to perform cooking/cleaning duties.

I just want to give a shout out to Brenda and Dave for all their input to make our stay one of the best we have ever experienced!!

Thanks again. We will definitely try to come again next year!!

Scotch Creek Rancho Relaxo

  • 5 of 5

My family of 3 just had an excellent time at Rancho Relaxo! It was a perfect spot for my husband, 4 year old daughter and I, and fully equipped with everything you think you need! Scotch Creek is a great small community that has a farmer's market every Wednesday and a few km down the road in Celista they have another farmer's market every Saturday and a winery. We missed out on the Friday nights live but they have a small market and music right in the town every Friday night in July and August. Hope to be back again!

Seeking R&R in Scotch Creek

  • 3 of 5

Scotch Creek Cabin is in a great location, only a few minutes from the Provincial Park. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood and has plenty of grass and space to relax. Though the bedroom is separated by only a curtain and the bathroom involves walking outside (though its indoor plumbing!) the cabin offered all the conveniences of home, including a large selection of VHS movies! The property was very clean, well-maintained with a rustic lived in feel.

A welcome note was awaiting our arrival and Dave (one of the owners) was available for any questions we had, he even stopped by and cut down some branches for us to cook our marshmellows over the open fire pit. I would recommend this property to couples or a large group of friends or a family as it offers everything you require for a relaxing getaway.

If you are looking to relax, BBQ and enjoy the outdoors Scotch Creek is a great choice for some R&R, though recommend renting a boat and partaking in some water sports.

Owner's Response: We are happy that our guests had a wonderful vacation. However, we would like to add that the property is not great for large groups, as it really does only sleep four people and is more suitable for a couple with 1 or 2 children, a single couple or 2 adults needing seperate beds. The bedroom actually has a wall between it and the living area and the curtain is there for privacy. The cabin is essentially one big room, with a wall seperating it. The bathroom is seperate on the covered deck and is perfect when there are tenters and visiting guests. We have never had issues with this before and all of our guests are thrilled with the value for the property.

If you decide to book through the website, they require a "booking with confidence" fee for using their site. This is payable to them and I do not see this fee.
A refundable payment of 350$ is required when you book to secure your booking and acts as a damage and/or cleaning deposit. This is payable directly to me and I am responsible for refunding it to you. Provided is an optional cleaning service. This is $150 and can be taken out of this $350 deposit if you choose to use our cleaning service. You may choose to do the cleaning yourself. Dishes are to be done regardless or this is an extra 25$ fee. If you leave the BBQ dirty, it is an extra 25$. The fridge should be cleaned out, stove cleaned, the kitchen cleaned, floors cleaned, carpets vacuumed and the sinks, shower and toilets left clean. The beds can be left unmade as we will take away the linens and bedding and replace with fresh linens and bedding. The garbage is taken out and bag replaced.
