Comfort and location can't be beat
This is a well-kept, comfortable, extremely well-located cottage. I didn't need a car once, because I could walk most places, or take the nearby bus to any of the major beaches. Marianne is extremely responsive, not that I had any major problems. The bed is comfy, the air conditioning effective, and there was plenty of space for everything. I can't wait to stay there again, if the wait list isn't full!
Thank you Valerie - so glad you enjoyed the cottage and our downtown neighborhood. I too hope you come back soon!
Great stay at 642 1/2 Lafayette Ct in Sarasota Fl
Cottage was clean, quaint, cozy and convenient. Loved the screened in front porch as well as the private front courtyard. Great location! Easy walk to downtown Sarasota restaurants, shops and galleries, as well as the botanical garden, marina and grocery stores. Short drive to beautiful beaches, St. Armand’s Circle and other interesting attractions. Highly recommend.
A very quaint little cottage.
The instructions and information provided to get to and settled into this unit were done very well. I flew into Tampa and had I done a little research, I would have driven a different route to get to this place. This is no fault of the owner of the unit. I should have taken 275 to 75 then south to Fruitville then west to 41 then south to Oak.
When I first walked into the unit, I observed an odor. I wasn't sure if it was mildew or just what it was. Musty smell. I thought perhaps it was because the unit was closed up so I opened the windows and pretty much kept them open my entire stay. The weather was cooler and I'm not a big AC user anyway.
The bed was very comfortable and the unit was nicely furnished. It is a quiet area and it was enjoyable to sit on the enclosed, screened-in patio.
The washer and dryer are right there and that is a major plus for me. The Wifi worked well the entire time I was there. The instructions for the heat/AC and all were excellent.
I'm not a big TV watcher but the TV is very small. I estimate 20 inches but if you are vacationing in the area, what are you doing watching TV?
Another big plus of this unit is it's close proximity to the beaches and, more importantly, Owen's Fish Camp, which I absolutely love.
I would stay here again. One star short because of the odor. Hopefully they can get that resolved and figure out what is causing it to get it rectified. I bought a room air freshener to help out but opening the windows was a help. Thank you.
Super cute place that is close to everything
Awesome 1 bed, 1 bath - small, but perfect sized kitchen with plenty of room in living room and screened in porch. Really quiet street with plenty of parking and you can walk to Main Street and 15 mins drive to beach. It had everything we needed and plenty of AC as well. I would definitely stay again and recommend this place. Thanks for a great visit!
Charming and cozy
Very quaint, comfortable, convenient property in close proximity to downtown Sarasota, but quiet and private at the same time. We enjoyed our stay very much. Marianne was quite helpful and accommodating. We recommend this cottage.
Ideal urban cottage
What an awesome cottage: walkable to downtown, art district, botanical garden, marina, urban trail and 15 minute drive to Longboat Key. And the lanai offers sheltered space for evening wine -- a really comfortable, ideally located spot for enjoying all that Sarasota offers.
Sarasota offers a great combination of cultural resources along with
fantastic Gulf beaches. Visit the Ringling Museum or Mote Aquarium,
attend performances at the Van Wezel concert hall or Opera House, catch the Film Festival if you come in April, eat authentic Italian at Mediterraneo or Japanese at Utamaro (both a five minute walk), shop at St. Armands Circle, stroll nearby Payne Park or the Bayfront, or just relax on the beautiful white sand at Siesta (named #1 beach in the US!), Lido or Longboat Key beaches.
A half hour drive will take you to fantastic outlet shopping at
Ellenton; two hours away is Orlando and DisneyWorld.
