Amazing location white sand blue blue sea
We watched the sun rise every morning and watched it set again every evening .. it almost felt like we were on our own private beautiful sandy beach with two handy palm trees for shade. We saw turtles and some really friendly birds
Location is great, right across from a supermarket bank, next to surfers cafe which has great food and just a short walk along from Oistins Friday fish fry. Short walk to Miami Beach which is a small beach with calm sea and some friendly locals ( no beach loungers) easy to catch buses into town .
Inside the beach house was basic, mostly very clean however we had to wash /scrub cutlery crockery etc .The air con in the main bedroom was great however very noisy. The WiFi is fantastic and works on the beach There were lots of padlocks to open to get into the house which initially makes you nervous.. however I guess it’s the same as having a burglar alarm at home and once used to these felt very safe and secure. If the locks were colour coded to the keys it would really help
. We had a couple of problems which were dealt with straight away by the owners who were very easy to contact.
we would return again and again just to have the BEST most relaxing place on the beach with long swims both day and moonlit at night.. bring plenty of mozzi spray for the evenings .
. the people in Barbados are so friendly and they all offer directions and advice when lost! Oh and drink the rum punch and eat the rice and peas yummy!

This is a beach house, as the pictures show, but when we traveled there in July 2018 the beach was disgusting and unusable. The water was black with seaweed and the beach was covered in it. There were small flies hovering all about, and the stink on the property and inside the home was unbearable.
Consequently, we spent as little time there as possible, and had to "commute" to some of the beaches in the northwest of the island that were still unaffected.
I contacted the owner to inform her of our disappointment, and our irritation in the fact that we had booked the stay in January, leaving her ample time to warn us that the beach was unusable, but didn't.
She was unapologetic, unsympathetic, and simply told me to make the best of it. But make the best of what? This is a BEACH house that we dreaded to return to each evening and couldn't use as a BEACH house. Talk about bait and switch.
And forget any assistance from Home Away/VRBO. They simply pass the complaint along to the property owner and wish you good luck. It's a great business model - collect all the money and deny all responsibility.
This is what I'd advise anyone about traveling to Barbados... it's a beautiful island and the people are some of the most friendly and genuine you'll ever meet. But do your homework with respect to the beach conditions, (if that's why you're traveling there), and seriously consider a hotel or resort over a house.

This is an extremely popular rental property. The people who stayed there prior to you and after you have given it a 5 star rating even with the seaweed on the beach.... Unfortunately for you on the day of your arrival there was an influx of Sargasam seaweed come in on the beach. This came in on the very day of your arrival. Being it was fresh, there was a raw smell which came from this seaweed.
This smell did not come from anything inside or around the property it came from the seaweed that was on the beach...
This is an act of God if seaweed comes into the beach or not and I cannot tell when seaweed will arrive on the beach or not.
Sometimes it comes in and the next morning it's gone with a rough sea. The beach behind the cottage is now FREE of seaweed.
This property does not have anything smelling in it or around it but because of the fresh seaweed deposited on the day of your arrival on the beach this caused the smell. This property was thoroughly cleaned for your arrival by myself and my maid .it is always in immaculate condition for any arrivals at the cottage.
All of the Caribbean,Central and South America this year suffered with seaweed this year. It just was not only happening behind my beach cottage. A world class 6 star hotel just 1 km down the road ,where people pay US$10,000.00 for a 7 night stay had seaweed on their beach as well. How can I be held responsible for seaweed ? I guess if it rained all 7 days of your holiday I would be responsible for that as well. You wrote Home Away/ Trip advisor asking for a refund and if they felt you were entitled to a refund they would have given you, but they did not.
You continue to blackguard my property for seaweed on the beach ,when tenants before and after you have given it a 5 star rating even with the seaweed on the beach.
I am sorry the seaweed came in during your stay ,but that's an act of God and if I were God I would have turned it off for you.
However , glad you had a car for your 7 days that you could enjoy our Island fully.
