About the property

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, 7 Sleeps

Located in the Wildernest area of Summit county our Gore Trail Condo is easily accessible - under 90 minutes from Denver Int'l Airport and just 3 miles from the Silverthorne exit off I-70. Based in the heart of ski country you can ski Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain or A-Basin. Vail and Beaver Creek are slightly further (30-45 minutes) but still great options for a day of skiing. In summer there's Lake Dillon and miles of cycle paths to explore, plus hiking, rafting, fishing and golf.

There are no outside steps so you can walk straight in to the unit! Inside the accommodation is arranged on 2 levels with a half flight of stairs up or down from the entry hall. The lower level has a bright, uncluttered open plan living/dining area with a kitchen and breakfast bar with 3 bar stools. The living space has a sofa bed, TV & DVD player, gas fire with 6-hour timer, dining table for 6 and a private balcony with beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding nature preserve. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare and enjoy family meals.

There are two bedrooms on the lower level and a loft space upstairs overlooking the main room. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed, a TV and its own bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top) and a large TV. There is a bathroom off the main hall with a walk-in shower and a washing machine and dryer. The loft has a queen bed, a bathroom and plenty of floor space for setting up air mattresses. Other amenities include free high speed wireless internet service, individual carport, uncovered general parking, drying racks, hair dryer, laundry baskets and CD/radio player.

Gore Trail is at the top of Ryan Gulch Road where the road loops around. We love this circle for early morning and evening power walks/runs. The road runs right past the trail heads for Lily-Pad Lake and Buffalo Cabin trails, so it's very convenient for hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Gore Trail has a private clubhouse with 2 outdoor hot-tubs, locker room, showers, large screen TV/DVD player and a foosball table. Outside the south entrance to the parking lot is the Summit Stage bus stop - Summit County's free bus whose destinations include Silverthorne (with its outlet shopping and Recreation Center), Dillon (marina), Frisco (great town for shopping, restaurants and bike rental) and the ski areas of Keystone, Copper and Breckenridge. Perfect if you visit without a car and great for teenagers who want to do their own thing.

We're sure you will enjoy your stay with us!

Guestbook comments from the owner

The place was easy to find and it had plenty of room. We were a group of 7 adults and we all slept pretty comfortably. The location is central to several ski resorts so we were able to visit Copper Mountain and Vail easily.

Tucked away in the mountains you will find the accomiding Moose Roost. Gas fireplace, wonderful view, great location and amenities in every cabinet and closet. The staff is a phone call away to help and answer any question. The only complaint would be very stiff mattresses, but after a seven mile hike or two, you barely even notice the mattresses. Over all I would give this stay away from home an 8.5 out of 10. Enjoy, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Great location and beautiful view!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the spectacular views from the balcony every morning and evening! We enjoyed watching a fox family play and a couple moose one evening. Great location to many conveniences but quiet and relaxing. Perfect for hiking the Buffalo Mtn. trails. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of space for our family of 4 to kick back and relax. Thank you for sharing the Moose Roost with us!

Wildernest - Gore Trail Stay

Great property. Quiet and convenient for most everything in Summit County. 15-20 minutes from the ski areas (Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper, and A-Basin) The unit was very clean and the management was great to work with.

This place is great!

Place is clean and well furnished. It is super spacious and the views are phenomenal. One thing we really liked was that the apt is at the level of the parking lot, so no stairs to climb when getting groceries or ski gear!

How do you truly express how amazing, how outstanding, how perfect a vacation rental can be! You just can't put into words how WONDERFUL this place was. First, the view is unbelievable! Every morning and every evening, the first and last thing we did was go out on the balcony to see the view. Gorgeous.....felt like I was in Heaven. Second, the condo has EVERYTHING you could need! The layout was perfect and the bedrooms/bathrooms were great! As well if not better than the pictures show.

Honestly, if I didn't have to work I would beg Sandy to just let me be her year around renter. Loved the condo, loved the area, not a thing was lacking! Most of all, I felt like I got a new long distance friend. Sandy could not have been more accommodating to all my many questions! Enjoyed so much getting to talk to her and even shared with her while we there the exciting moments of our trip. She didn't seem to mind at all.

I highly, highly recommend this condo for your stay in Colorado. My son snowboarded at Breckendridge, we rode out to Vail and Copper Mountain, and spent a day in Denver. The location of the condo is perfect for all those activities.

Thank you Sandy for the best vacation ever!

Owner's Response: Amanda, I am so happy to hear that you had such a wonderful time in the mountains with your family. I really enjoyed the wildlife photos that you took from the balcony. We have not yet been lucky enough to spot a fox up there. If you didn't get a chance to see the moose, you'll have to definitely make your way back here for that! Summer months in Summit County are as beautiful as the winter months. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience in the review. -Sandy
