House & optional cottage with lakeviews. Paddleboards, Canoe, and dog friendly
bought this cottage in a summer cottage community in lake Geneva for myself, and tore down to build a new home. I repurposed many of the doors and used antique barn beam to support the loft. I did much of the work myself before meeting my now husband...and moving in with him and having a now 5 yr old daughter, so I never got to enjoy myself. I hope your family enjoys my home, I live only minutes away and always happy to help you make your stay perfect.
cass purchased this House in 2007
Why cass chose Lake Geneva
this home is not priced like many of the rentals on the larger lakes and has an optional 2br cottage next door to rent for additional space. Our smaller lake is less crowded and it is an easy commute to everything in lake Geneva without the price or traffic. there is a little restaurant/pub next door with a great family friendly menu. our community is a charming summer cottage community with many of the cottages owned by generations of families
What makes this House unique
2 miles of private HOA owned lakefront with 2 beaches. Use the 4 man canoe or our 2 paddleboards to enjoy our calm lake. Boat rentals available as well. Our lake has good fishing for bass, bluegill and northern pike, kids can catch catfish off the shore. my nephew won the largest fish contest a couple of years ago...his catfish was so big...he had to hold it with both hands!! we also are a golf cart friendly community. you can drive a golf cart on our roads and along the lake!!

A Little Run Down for the Price
The owners are very nice and responsive and seem concerned about the “details of the visit“. However, the property was not real clean and sleeping accommodations were not great for a large group such as ours. One of the pull-out sofas was in disrepair and didn’t appear to have been changed or cleaned under. It was not easy to find adequate bedding, that was folded and looked believably clean. The kitchen cookware is in rough shape, but the owner was very nice to provide a Keurig coffee maker.
There is a bar next-door, that has a very good Friday night fish fry, but also has the sound of bottles being dumped out at various times of the day and evening. A lot of traffic coming and going, also.
We paid quite a bit of money, possibly because of the holiday period, but for the price I expected a little more.
I’m dissappointed by his review. I did respond to his many requests ASAP, and apologized that the sleeper sofa was an issue and he said it want a problem. They identified damage from the previous guests dog that we missed during the quick changeover to accomodate their arrival. I acknowledged that the sleeper sofa was broken by a previous guest, and the new one not arriving till January, So I added a double fouton and extra bed all with clean extra sheets and pillows, folded and clean for each of those extra beds. There was an extra set of clean sheets on the sleeper sofa for them to use if they still wanted too. As a rule I don’t leave extra sheets (outside of the extra beds) for my guests to rifle through, so yes, they are hard to find for a reason. my experience is that people will use them on their air mattresses and whatever and leave me with a double load to wash. My license only allows a strict occupancy limit. I rented them the 2 br cottage w an extra sleeper sofa too accomodate their extra guests. If they had Not enough sleeping accommodations for the number that I’m approved for that would be a violation on their part. The holiday season is a very busy time for the bar and restaurants in our tourist area. I do note there is a bar/restaurant next door in my advertising, and many guests have given positive reviews. Although my rates are higher during the holiday and high seasons like all of the properties, I’m still priced below other properties. The owner wanted a refund on his pet fee after they left, and unfortunately I don’t refund those. It’s too difficult to identify pet damage and which guests will responsibly manage their pet so I simply assign a pet fee to all who being a pet . I did offer however to wave the pet fee in the future if they want to return since they seemed to leave the place in good shape , I believe that may have negatively impacted his review.
Great space in Lake Geneva area
This was a wonderful property for my sisters and friend. It would be a great place for a large family gathering or girls' get away. With 3 large bedrooms that slept 8, as well as hide -a -beds in the loft and basement family room, there was generous space for together time, as well as places for people to be by themselves. Plus, there's a charming little cottage right next door that's part of the owner's property, if you needed room for an even larger group. Three very nice bathrooms with plenty of towels. Wonderfully convenient location for Lake Geneva and Delavan; and just steps away from beautiful Lake Como. So many things to do in the area. The property was immaculate; beds very comfortable. And a well stocked kitchen for cooks. Lots of comfortable seating for meals and gathering; very enjoyable gas fireplace. Two nice decks for sitting outside. The neighborhood is quiet. Can't recommend this property highly enough.
These ladies were the most courteous of guests. They left the house immaculate, and were extremely respectful. They are welcome back any time
We had such fun staying here. We were 4 couples and we ended up renting the next door cottage as well, although in retrospect we could have certainly made it work with just the main house using pull-out sofas/the basement. The neighboring area is gorgeous and it felt amazing to get away for some lake life fun. The kitchen had the basics and during our stay the owner supplied us with one extra item we needed. We all fit around the dining room table and in the living room for tv and games. Everyone slept fine and bathrooms were clean and nice. Checkin was a breeze. We didn't get to use the backyard/porch due to weather but we didn't mind hanging inside. Be aware there is a bar next door, so there were some really loud noises that happened when they emptied their garbage (bottles, from the sound of it) in the alley. We were a bit loud ourselves, so it didn't really bother anyone. In fact, we stopped in there for a round. A wonderful weekend and certainly recommended!
Great Location, Easygoing Owners!
We had a fantastic stay at the house + cottage. Setup was excellent for what we needed, and the location could not have been better along Lake Como and right next to a local bar. We met the owner the first night of the stay and he was very friendly.
Great house...confusing manager
The house was great, it was in an awesome spot, easy to get around, and plenty of space for our group.
Upon arrival one of the toilets was flushing slowly and the garbage cans were full. Considering we had 10+ people in our group by the end of the weekend there was nowhere to put the trash, and the toilet was clogged upon the first night. We tried plunging, and upon leaving I texted Cass letting her know.
We thought we left the place in pretty good shape, but I received a long message of things that were left in poor condition.
To wrap it up, the house was great a little dated but as expected for a lake house, just be weary of how you leave the house at check out, and make sure to keep the owner posted on house challenges throughout your stay so you don’t get a charge at the end of your visit for some things we felt we couldn’t control.
This group was a nightmare. I was going to refrain from reviewing this group, due to the horrendous experience, but I see they pre emptively complained, and I think future homeowners should know. I would never rent to this group again. My neighbors complained they were extremely loud, very disrespectful to the neighbors, a lot of people and partied late into the night. We were not notified the toilet was backed up, until after they left. it was so plugged up that I had to call a plumber on a sunday who actually had to use a special tool to unplug the toilet. The toilet was plugged with feminine products and paper towels or some type of cloths which never should have been put in the toilet. I am pretty sure they didn't contact me the first night, because we would have likely evicted this group on the spot. there was blood or bbq sauce all over the comforter, they left a horrendous greasy mess allover the grill and broiler, with meat and there were a ton of flies in the house and on the deck by Sunday. they had helped themselves to ALL of my extra sheets, and left me with a huge pile of towels and sheets which exceeded the normal amount. My cleaning crew had to spend 3 extra hours dealing with this mess and billed me for double time and I had to hire a plumber on a weekend to deal with the toilet and had to postpone the next guest arrival. I have been renting to wonderful respectful guests for 10 years and this was one of the most extreme I have seen.
Great place for a family
Plenty of room for a large family. Nice house and very clean.
Location is great! So close to the lake. My family and I were quite comfortable and had a great time!
This family was very respectful and left my home super clean, they are welcome back any time!
