Home Away From Home!!!

Always wondering what you will get when you rent a condo/vacation home etc. We were very pleased with what we walked into. 2 separate bedrooms & 2 bathrooms.. Nice kitchen/dining room/living room and even screened in balcony overlooking the pool. Everything you need is here too..linens/towels/kitchenware even washer & dryer. Internet & satellite tvs. Nice saltwater pool & fishing docks too. Place was nicely landscaped..Owner communication was great..Prices was very reasonable..great location..only minutes from beach nice walk or short drive & 5 minute nice drive to the great "Siesta Village" So..yes..I highly recommend this place and will return..Thanks Tracy!!!

Always wondering what a rental will actually turn out to be like when you arrive. We were very happy with what we walked in to. Very homey condo. EVERYTHING you need is here. kitchenware..bath towels..washer/dryer..2 separate bedrooms & 2 baths!! Nice size dining & living room with screened in balcony. Salt-water pool was great. Pool table came in handy when it rained. 2 nice docks for fishing or just relaxing. Owner communications were very prompt. Property was clean and nicely landscaped..carport was handy. Short walk/drive to beach access and the great "Siesta Village" shops/restaurants ...Self check-in/out was nice. HIGHLY recommend this place for families w kids..not crowded..so you can relax and keep eye on kids easily..

Relaxing is all you will do

  • 2 of 5

The condo was nice. If you have children, I do not recommend staying here! The pool is the only entertainment other then the ocean, which by the way you have to walk forever to get to or call someone to come and take you. The game room consists of nothing more then a pool table, tv, and some board games. If you are looking for wifi- the only place you will have access is the "clubhouse". I found this to be more of a retirement center then a place to have fun- the pool closes at 10pm- not much to do after that but sleep.

Owner's Response: Wow! We have several children ages 3-18 and they can't wait to go back to our condo on the Key every time! There is so much fun in the sun here! We all love to go downstairs to the pool, play tennis, fish off the Bay dock, play a pool game in the clubhouse or watching a movie in the clubhouse. We also like to walk and rent bikes to bike around the island! We walk to Crescent beach all the time. It is a very easy walk. If you prefer there is free parking there also- and it's a 30 second ride in the car! We like to go shelling at Turtle beach too. You can walk to Stickney Point and rent jet skis, kayaks, go parasailing, take a sunset cruise, rent a boat, etc. So much fun in the sun to be had here I'm very surprised the above reviewer didn't seek any of these wonderful things to do on the Key out! There is also a free ride service on the island called Johhny's Free Beach Rides and they take you anywhere on the island for FREE! It is beach island living!! If your looking for Disney World this is not your destination!

Siesta Key = Heaven

  • 4 of 5

Siesta Key is our family's favorite vacation destination for beach time.

We found this particular condo online at a great rate! I would have given the rating five stars except for the fact that the day we arrived some workers were power-washing the walkway areas. The machine sat right in front of our door. I've got video to prove it, it was so amazingly loud we couldn't hear ourselves think. After driving for 20 hours this was not the greeting we had been hoping for. We just wanted to rest and chill out, but this went on for nearly an hour. Then the same the next day. It would have been nice if we had been warned ahead of time that this would be going on. We tried many times to find the manager to ask when it would end but she was never in the office. It was always closed. Thankfully, it didn't go on the whole time we were there. We stayed for seven nights.

Also, the individual who I booked the condo with explained to me that the beach was within walking distance, by about .24 miles. That is not the case. Public beach access is about half to 3/4ths of a mile. Too far to walk carrying beach chairs, beach umbrella, bags, cooler, and a three year old. A short drive, no problem.

We really enjoyed the food at Captain Curts Oyster Bar on Stickney Point Road. Try their fried shrimp. Great seafood, very reasonably priced. We also ate at Phillipi Creek Oyster Bar and Restaurant on Tamiami Trail. We eat here every time we come to Siesta Key making it an official tradition. A-MAZING seafood. Higher priced. Always packed so expect a wait, but so worth it! You can visit the gift shop next door to help pass the time. :) We stopped and had Pina Coloda's at The Daiquiri Deck near Siesta Key village. It was two for one daiquiri's making up their happy hour...VERY GOOD. The food, typical bland fare. The drinks are what you're there for. And finally, sorry for this, but I cannot for the life of me remember the restaurant in Siesta Key Village that boasts the Mexican food. The atmosphere, while inviting from the outside looking in, was not. Food was so so.

But one must visit The Sandbar restaurant on Anna Marie Island, a 40 min drive north. Trust me. Trust. Me.

Other than that, the condo was great, very clean, very spacious and stocked with the basics! Loved having a washer and dryer! The pool was awesome! And the beach, well, that speaks for itself. We would stay here again. Knowing what to expect now.

Owner's Response: I would like to clarify this particular renters comment on the 3/4 to approx. 1 mile to the Siesta Key Public Beach. That entrance is to the right of the complex and he is correct approx. 1 mile. The beach access we use and all our other renters use is to the left of the condo complex at Stickney Point Rd. It's less than .4 of a mile. We walk it all time with our children and so do our renters. It's also a 30 second ride in the car. They do have free parking there also. A great feature is there is a shopping complex right across the street from the beach so you can get a cold drink, cocktail, coffee, ice cream, lunch, plus crescent market is there too! It's a fantastic location!
