Our Favorite Holland House So Far!!

  • 5 of 5

My extended family and my own have been visiting Holland every summer for many years. We have typically stayed on the South side of Macatawa but were looking for a slightly larger house this year. The Lilley Pad fit the bill perfectly for our July 4th getaway! With 4 different families, 10 adults and 2 kids, we had just the right amount of space and never felt crowded. We enjoyed the proximity to Tunnel Park and to Holland State Park, and downtown Holland was just a short drive away. After a day of beach and/or shopping, we were happy to return "home" for dinner and the fire pit. The 5 bedrooms were all wonderfully accomodating, and with 3 bathrooms no one was ever waiting. Having the garage to store our beach stuff was invaluable, as I have stayed at other properties where the garage is off-limits. The neighborhood was fantastic with many people out and about all week. My 10-year-old could not get enough air hockey, foozball and ping pong. Many, many great family memories were created during our week at the Lilley Pad and we look forward to a return visit in 2017! Thank you, Dan and Dorene!!

Great for Families!

  • 5 of 5

The Lilley Pad was a fantastic place to spend Memorial Day weekend. We were traveling with 3 families total, with kids ranging from 2 years old to 7 years old. The house lacked nothing! Everyone was very comfortable, both kids and adults. Having 3 bathrooms was a real lifesaver! The house was very clean, and had none of the musty lake smell we've found at other rentals. The proximity to tunnel park was fantastic.

Comfortable, Large and Inviting... Great Place!!

  • 5 of 5

The Lilley Pad was a perfect place for us and our extended family to stay for our son's Holland wedding! Dan was very helpful and accommodating, and answered all my questions quickly. The place sleeps 13 comfortably and that's how many we had there! It's big enough to not be tripping all over each other.

7 of us stayed downstairs and it was helpful to have such a large living space down there. The couches and living area were really comfortable and homey. It felt very much like being at home.

Each night, we all gathered in front of the upstairs fireplace and talked into the night. The sofas and chairs are cozy and inviting. The kitchen, while smallish, was perfect for our needs of cooking breakfast at a leisurely pace and the dining area fit us well (although we never had 13 eating at once!).

I highly recommend The Lilley Pad to anyone who needs to accommodate a lot of people while not sacrificing an at-home feel. A fantastic find!

Very good location and lots of room

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at 'Lilley Pad'. The location was great. We went bicycling quite a few times and rode nearly 100 miles during our stay. We took a couple of walks through the neighborhoods to Lake Macatawa which was only about a 3 mile round trip. The trails are so nice and convenient from your place. Tunnel park was so close we walked there almost every day. We also visited all of the parks from Holland State park to Grand Haven State Park along Lake Michigan. We also enjoyed visiting the Holland farmer's market three times during our stay. The house had plenty of space, charm, and it was a joy to have been able to obtain this rental on a fairly short notice without any problems.

Owner's Response: It is a joy to rent our home to an appreciative customer. Holland does have lots of places to explore, all seasons. Great location for winter fun, too! Join us for cross-country skiing, winter fest in downtown. Shopping is good year round. Tulips are beautiful in the spring--so much more to do than sand and sun.

Excellent home and location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week in August, 2011 at this lovely home and everyone in our large group was so impressed with the gracious accommodations. Everything was very clean when we arrived and we didn't find anything lacking in comfort or amenities. The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, we enjoyed the gas grill, the hot tub, the ping pong/air hockey/foosball games and bikes. The proximity to Tunnel Park was a real plus. Beds are comfy, kitchen appliances are good quality, lots of room for different activities. The back yard is an incredibly beautiful wooded area, very private, with deer making an occasional appearance. Holland is a city with many things to do. We enjoyed Dutch Village, Kollen Park, Craig's Cruisers, the amazing Farmers Market and the Thursday evening street performers in downtown. The owners were very nice to deal with and I HIGHLY recommend this property.

Owner's Response: We enjoy preparing our home for your enjoyment. Holland is an awesome place to visit and live. Off season in September is a great way to enjoy a still warm Lake Michigan and enjoy the beautiful fall colors. Come for a weekend, or week and experience Michigan at its best. Great cross-country skiing in the winter and a fireplace to enjoy after. Hot tub is open May to November.

Hospitality Plus!

Great home, great location, close to beach, clean and comfortable. The owners thought of everything that anybody could want or need while away from home including a first aid kit and suntan lotion! All 14 of us enjoyed our stay from the oldest (76) to the youngest (12). We would stay here again.
