About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 6 Sleeps

Seagrape Cottage is a charming 3 bedroom, 2 bath beach cottage with unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico and just 35 steps to the white sand Gulf beach. Located at 601 Gulf Drive South in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island, it is a privately owned turn-key furnished “Old Florida Style” beach house that's shaded by large Seagrape trees. The cottage has been updated with new appliances, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, tile, sofa, beds and furnishings. Seagrape Cottage still has the feel of a “beach house” while having the amenities guests have come to expect.

Seagrape is a 2 story cottage. Upstairs, there is a bedroom which has windows on all 4 sides that provide a panoramic view of both the Gulf and Bay. This upstairs bedroom has two twin beds, a flatscreen tv and lots of storage. Also upstairs is a bathroom with shower.

On the main floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a Queen size bed and flatscreen tv with dvd and one with a twin with trundle. The main floor has a full bath with tub/shower combination, a big living/dining area with large windows and flatscreen tv and a large dining table that seats eight. A fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, stove with oven, most of the small appliances you could need plus a breakfast bar which seats four and a nook with views of the beach. In the living room, there is a sofa and loveseat. The sofa pulls out to a full size bed. Seagrape has free WiFi and cable.

One of Seagrape's favorite features is it's large wrap-around porch overlooking the Gulf. It's great for watching the Gulf, beautiful sunsets, eating outside or just relaxing.

So come and have a very enjoyable, memorable stay at Seagrape Cottage on Anna Maria Island!

A most perfect get a way!

From the moment we arrived, we knew we found the place we had been searching for for years! Quaint, homey and clean, this beach cottage is the most comfortable and well equipped place for a relaxing get a way. The beach is clean and beautiful and provided a daily spectacular sunset! Walk to the pier and many fine eateries. We can't wait to come back!

Charming, relaxing, & convenient!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at the Seagrape Cottage for an extended weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is an authentic, historic beach bungalow located steps from the beach, a few blocks from the pier, shops and restaurants and a stones throw from the free trolley stop. I was a little nervous about the traffic and noise but neither were an issue. Previous reviews had indicated the upstairs bedroom was a little warm, so we brought a fan and were

perfectly comfortable. There are no shades upstairs which doesn't pose a privacy issue (b/c the windows are high) but the light does come in pretty early. It wasn't an issue for us since our young child wakes up before sunrise anyways!

All in all, it is a unique home with lots of charm. I am so glad Dan and his family are preserving a property like this so visitors can receive an authentic old Florida beach experience!

Perfection from start to finish! Seagrape beach cottage is the epitome of old Florida style!

  • 5 of 5

We had spotted this charming beach cottage on a previous trip to Bradenton beach. When we decided to make a quick visit back to the beach I was excited to see that Seagrape was available for a few days and quickly made a reservation. Heard back from Dan within a few hours and packed our bags!

The cottage was absolutely perfect for us. First the location. Directly across from the beach so the view is quite spectacular. Early morning beach walks or watching the beautiful sunsets are a few steps away. There are many restaurants within walking distance so you can enjoy a cocktail and not worry about driving.

Now the cottage. So charming! Very clean; comfortable bed; AC kept us nice and cool; great beachy decor - little touches everywhere that shows a lot of thought went into making this cottage a home away from home!

It's time to finish loading our car and head back to real life. But the next time we need a beach escape we will certainly head back to the Seagrape. It's truly a gem!

Great location within walking distance to the beach, shopping, and restaurants.

Three friends shared the cottage and agree on the following:

a. the cottage needs updating/freshening,

b. mattress pads would add comfort to the plastic covering on the mattresses,

c. traffic is noisy,

d. second floor is very warm.

We enjoyed our stay and the suggestions above and in the category of nitpicking (other than b.). Thank you.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Most everybody loves Seagrape Cottage. It is a special place. It has that Old Florida charm that is increasingly hard to find. Big porch overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, lots of wood, ceiling fans and character and central air and three flatscreen tv's. The location is amazing, 35 steps to the beach. A four short block walk to Bridge Street with lots of restaurants, bars, shops and the pier. The free trolley stops nearby for rides up and down the island, without having to use the car. Staying so close to the Gulf and beach is exciting and convenience. If complete quiet is what one is looking for, the beach is probably not the place although it is very relaxing. Mattress pads are usually on all beds, but like anything else, if you need something, just ask. We are always doing things to update the cottage and will continue to so families can continue to make wonderful memories at Seagrape Cottage.

Wonderful Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

This is our second trip to Seagrape Cottage. We love the old Floridian feel of the home, and all that amenities that it provides. We love having direct beach access from across the street, with gorgeous sunset views. We enjoy the close proximity of the restaurants and of course the local ice cream shop. Our family makes memories here each year, that will last a lifetime, we will continue to make Seagrape our returning vacation spot for many years to come.

Charming and spacious

  • 5 of 5

We were at Seagrape for twenty five days in March, 2016. This is the fourth time we rented through vrbo and we were not disappointed. The cottage is very accurately portrayed in the pictures but what is missing are all the charming small touches that Dan and Renae have added. It was extremely comfortable and we felt immediately at home. The beach across the street was not crowded and several times we saw dolphins right from the beach. We could walk to Bridge Street, many restaurants and the new pier. One thing I did not realize was how small the street is. You are very close to the bay and the gulf---sunrises on one end and sunset on the other. One morning I woke early and the moon was shining on the water. It was a moment I will treasure. Thank you for restoring this beautiful cottage and sharing it with us.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the wonderful review. Seagrape Cottage is charming and has a very comfortable Old Florida feel to it. The location is great, with the gulf in front and the bay so close by. Spotting a dolphin is extra special. You can watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Its an easy walk to Bridge Street and all the restaurants, bars, shops, ice cream and the pier. The free trolley stops nearby to take you to many parts of the island. Easy and enjoyable living. Thanks so much for staying and for writing a wonderful review.! Renea & Dan
