Great location but had issues

  • 3 of 5

We were really excited about staying in this house. Teri was great and the house is in a great location. Lake just across the street is clean and swimmable. However we came on a really hot weekend and there was no AC. It’s our fault for not checking if there was but we just assumed there would be. It was too hot on the second night and we found bugs on our bed. We were scared that they were bed bugs but I think they were regular bugs maybe. My husband thinks there were a lot of bugs because windows are open due to the heat. While I really liked the location, I think I would look elsewhere next time

We had a blast!

Hi folks, we just wanted to thank you for the hospitality you extended during our stay over Spring Break. Your home was great - new, clean and had everything we needed. We also appreciate your recommendations on the wineries (Ravines was our favorite) and dinner at the Village Tavern was wonderful. Definitely see ya next year! Cliff & Dana A., (Canton, Ohio)

Nice location but not for me

  • 3 of 5

Once a year our group of eight like to get together and away from our regular task and we book a place on Keuka lake. Were all over 50 like to dine together and play cards, swim, visit the wineries etc.We booked this place but were dissappointed in what we got.

First the location on the lake is fine.the boat dock and swimming area was GREAT.

However the unexpected long uphill climb on LOOSE gravel to the house and then about 20 stairs is not easy on us old folks especially with bad knees and everything we needed to carry up & Down.

The Kitchen is well equipped and everything worked.but only had room at the Kitchen table for 4 FOUR people to eat.

The "Dining" room mentioned in the listing had a sign on the dining table stating it was an antique and NOT TO USE table or chairs

Next the living room had a small couch and a chair and a small coffee table. that we had to use for playing cards, eating etc.but sitting on the floor is not for us OLD people.

Next the bedrooms.the 2 single beds were like trying to sleep on box springs only. and the double bed was VERY weak in the middle as 2 people sort of sank in the middle..

The outside deck was nice but again would be good for maybe 4 people not eight.

We didn't mind having to clean the place up before leaving (we always leave them cleaner that when we arrive)

but we Paid a Very High premium for the place and even had to bring our own sheets, towels, pillows, etc.

in the past we have rented places and received so much more for a LOT LESS

Not a place for 8 adults

Owner's Response: I have had great success connecting with vacationers through Vacation Rentals and typically receive great reviews from the families that stay at my home. I am sorry that these folks were disappointed that they had bad weather during their stay and are choosing to make less than accurate comments, but that is their prerogative. I wish them better luck next time in finding a location that better meets their needs. p.s. many of the of renters, that live somewhat close by (as these people do), usually "tour" my place to make sure it's a good fit before renting it...thanks...
