House, 3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 6 Sleeps

Nestled in the woods on a quiet road that ends on a secluded point, this cozy and comfortable all-cedar Lindal home (floors, walls and ceiling all cedar!) overlooks the Corrotoman River from the open deck in the front of this cottage and Seniors Creek (7 foot deep) from the screened in porch on the side and rear. This cottage includes a beautiful cathedral ceiling and large floor to ceiling living room windows that provide a spectacular view of the Corrotoman River.

While the cedar gives this home its rustic and cozy charm, its newly remodeled modern kitchen hosts granite countertops and breakfast bar, convection ovens, microwave, refrigerator, convenient stackable laundry suite and beautifully remodeled bathrooms. The living room includes a large flat screen television (cable), WIFI, couch and matching chaise and 8' upholstered built-in bench suitable for sleeping or for additional seating. Beautiful wood, platation shutters have just been installed in 2013, making this cottage the most beautifully decorated cottage on the Northern Neck. *NOW WITH WIFI.

This three bedroom cottage has one full size bed upstairs with a 1/2 bath, and one full size and two twin beds and a full bath downstairs.

Great family trip

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here in early September. We have two young kids and a goldendoodle, who all absolutely loved the house and the water. The view was amazing and the neighborhood was so quiet, for the first few days we didn't even see a car pass the house. My husband caught enough crabs off the dock each day to have for supper. We took our small boat and enjoyed the water. The pool was beautiful and clean. The house was lovely. There were so many nice touches, like children's books laid out for our kids in the adorable kid's room and nice plush towels and washcloths in the bath. The house is pet friendly but VERY clean! We would definitely recommend this and plan to come back again for more trips. Our kids (ages 3 and 5) are still talking about our house on the water. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home and Liz was a pleasure to work with!

Fantastic Time!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our adult daughter spent last week at this wonderful location! The house is very clean and homey. The owners were very available and kindly answered our questions. Very well supplied kitchen - we wanted for nothing when we were preparing meals. Our 2 young grand daughters and their Dad spent the weekend with us. The girls loved the yard, the fishing they both caught some). Catching crabs was also quite exciting for them. The kayaks were great, and the surrounding coast line very picturesque. We all went swimming in the river...I would recommend water shoes, though. Finally our dog had a great time running around and playing with us outside. The back yard is perfect for dogs!!

We would definitely return to this peaceful location in the future!

Fun family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

From the start the owners were a pleasure to work with. Answered questions and took the time to explain the area. The cottage was even more beautiful than the pictures, and they added nice little touches to the kids rooms by supplying books. The little things such as fresh linens, paper products and soap, made the start of vacation an ease. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed, and considering I LOVE to cook, I was overly impressed with kitchen supplies and sharp knives (almost impossible to find in vacation rentals). The views were amazing as was the salt water pool which our kids adored. The dogs had fun trying to catch crabs with us and swimming. Over all an A+ and a relaxing time had by all!

Perfect retreat

  • 5 of 5

My hubby and I had a wonderful week here. The views are incredible, the stars at night are magnificient, the fishing was good, the peace and quiet was perfect. I wish I had found this area earlier. The house is very clean and well kept and has a very warm, friendly atmosphere like being at home away from home. The owners are by far the most caring and always concerned about you achieving your perfect vacation and are available if you need them (We locked ourselves out one night and they were there for us). The recommendations for the attractions and restaurants were perfect. There is plenty to do in the area (wineries, restaurants, golfing, antiques) and the residents are all very friendly. I loved the down home, local feeling you get like you're part of the community even if it's just for a week. Definately planning on returning next year.

Highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a week in this immaculate home with beautiful views from every window. The owners were the most thoughtful that we've ever encountered. Many businesses were closed during our stay in the early spring but, as we were relaxing and visiting local family, we didn't mind. Our only regret is that the weather wasn't warmer so that we could have used the kayaks provided. All this and pet friendly too!

Quiet Bliss

  • 5 of 5

This property is a great getaway for family or friends seeking a spot on the water "away from it all" but with things to keep adults, teens & kids occupied Kayaks on property, pool in walking distance. Cute local shops & tasty wineries. Description accurate, owners friendly, courteous & avialable if needed.

Location

Activity and Interests

In addition to the ample opportunities for outdoor recreation and water sports, the Northern Neck area is also home to an extremely long and rich colonial history, much of which is still evident today thanks to several museums, parks (Belle Isle Park is only 10 minutes away), and historic sites, such as the birthplaces of Robert E. Lee and George Washington. For those who wish to enjoy the more quiet side of life, there are many boutiques, local crafts and weekend festivals, speciality merchandise stores, a winery trail of multiple wineries for your enjoyment as well as many wonderful restaurants from cafe eateries to 4 star, white linen dining. A more complete updated listing of area events may be provided for your time of arrival. Just ask! Come see the beautiful Northern Neck and experience why many of us have come here for a summer vacation and stayed!
