What makes this cabin unique

One of a kind unique experience. Not like any other cabins in the area. Step back in time. Very Peaceful and quaint. Put the cell phone down and get to enjoy the ones you love. Re connect back with Life and Nature and be blessed.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Humble Home Away From Home

As I step through this modest cabin door

And saunter all across its wooden floor,

Remembering the times I've come before,

I look again at quaint, familiar walls

And every picture from the past enthralls

Me as each image here my mind recalls...

I view the kitchen table and the chairs...

I grap the rustic rail and head upstairs

And flurr the pillows...tuck an end that flares...

Back down the steps, I check the fridge for grub...

Tonight, I'll get down in the clawfoot tub,

Soap up myself and scrub and rinse and scrub...

But for right now, the porch swing's where I feel

The peace this dwelling has; that's why I steal

Away a while: the solace here is real;

And as I softly swing and soak it it,

The river flowing by, I start to grin

And tell myself, "You've come back again".

3 sisters enjoying some birthday R & R

  • 5 of 5

Such an adorable place, great view and perfect for 3 sisters to celebrate a birthday. Plenty of room (course we were outside on the porch and by the water most of the time) and just an amazing place. We couldn't have asked for better. The only complaint I would have is the trucks that FLY by on the road behind the house (kinda reminds me of Pet Semetary). But all in all, it was fabulous! We will DEF be back!

Very peaceful and quiet

The most adorable and clean little cabin I've ever stayed in. It was so quiet and peaceful and equipped with everything I needed. I would most definitely stay again.

Not impressed. Left in middle of night. Smaller than my bedroom. My fault though. Should have done more research

The cabin was awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We really liked it here. It was very relaxing, and really enjoyed a campfire along side the river. No cell phone service which was great. Just big enough for 2 people. Would not bring little ones. There is no sneaking down stairs to use the potty...creaky floors which didn't bother me at all. There is a bit of sulfur smell from the water but that's expected with some wells. Over all, we really enjoyed ourselves!!

Owner's Response: Hi Debbie, I am so glad that you had a great stay at Glory Days our authentic 1800s cabin. It is truly an adventure. I just wanted to mention that many of my repeat guests do come to stay with children. There are 2 foam beds that seem to be suitable for them. Even though its a smaller cabin it seems to magnify the beautiful views and even life itself in such a large way. Another new expensive filter has been added to prevent any notice from the Artesian well that we are blessed with. Please come back again sometime. Sincerely, Belinda

We just enjoyed ourselves the whole time. We were with in 30 minutes of Western Carolina which was great for orientation. We loved the back porch! The area was just beautiful. We fished and Kayaked right out the back door. :) Thank you so much for the memories :)

Sleepy little get-away

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful couple of nights at Old Glory. Coffee on the porch, fires at night...wonderful and so peaceful. In complete transparency, it is only about 50 yards from Hiway 28 which can be busy (especially with motorcycles) during the day but it calms down at night and is not really problem. even so, we'll go back for sure.
