Wonderful Holiday Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and six family members spent Thanksgiving week at the Badin Lake cottage. The owners Larry and Marj were very helpful as we had many questions. They answered our inquiries promptly and were extremely accommodating with our arrival and departure times as we had to make changes a few times. Upon arriving at the cottage we could tell that the owners took great care of their property. Everything was in working order and very clean and organized. The cottage was a wonderful place for a family gathering. There was plenty of room inside and out. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking as we did a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings and found everything we needed for cooking and serving. There was enough table seating and we all sat together comfortably to eat. The beautiful island counter top is spacious and made preparing large meals a breeze. The gathering room was a great area to hang out and play games, watch tv, etc. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds comfortable. Having all the bedrooms upstairs was such a plus since we had early risers and late sleepers and with both upstairs and downstairs bathrooms nobody was inconvienced. We were fortunate to have mild November weather during our stay so, much time was spent on the covered patio. Plenty of chairs and tables outside made it a real pleasure to sit and look at the beautiful scenery around the cove. There were cook outs on the large grill and a few campfires by the water as well. Beautiful views of the lake were just a short walk around the neighborhood and everyone we spoke to in the area was friendly. The best part of our stay was the access to the water. Just steps to put our kayaks in or fish off the dock. There were endless areas to explore In the boats and having the use of the owners canoe and kayak meant more of us were on the water at the same time. We would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to stay in a great cottage with easy water access and owners who made the rental process easy.

Great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 adults had a great Christmas together at the Badin Lakefront house. It had plenty of space for us all to spread out and be comfortable. The unexpectedly mild weather gave us the opportunity to really enjoy the lakefront porch, and we even were able to use the (provided) canoe! Larry was very responsive in communicating and made the transaction very smooth.

Owner's Response: This guest gave me plenty of time to respond to their needs, as they booked the reservation about the middle of Oct. There were plenty of questions, understandable regarding a stay through Christmas. Apparently I answered to their satisfaction as the stay was booked and most importantly they were able to celebrate a memorable Christmas - together. Such is the reward for what I offer.

Great lake house

  • 5 of 5

The house has everything that you need including plenty of floats to use while swimming. We enjoyed taking the canoe out, especially in the evening to watch the sunset. Our dog enjoyed swimming and the house seemed bigger than the photos. We spent all of our time outside, but when we were inside the house was well stocked, clean, and we appreciated having the washer and dryer. Larry was great.

Great stay at Badin Lake house

  • 5 of 5

Our family had an enjoyable stay at this comfortable house on a cove at Badin Lake, where we took the canoe out, and we grilled one night. Mr. Olsen was flexible in accommodating our schedule! We visited in the Fall--it was beautiful driving through the Uwharries. Golf was available at Tillery Traditions and the town of Badin (restaurants also there). Eldorado store (close by) was a convenient place to stop for picnic items, or to get maps of the recreation areas. We are looking forward to another visit.

The property was clean and very spacious.

  • 5 of 5

The lake house was very nice and big. The stairs are a little steep going up the bedrooms. Views from the house are beautiful. Kept up very well. We enjoyed our stay very much and plan on going back. We docked our boat there and all our family came down and enjoyed it very much. Very beautiful place! Larry, the owner was awesome to deal with. Very pleasant and caring.

Baden Lake

  • 5 of 5

Me and my family had a great time at Mr Olson's lake home. The home with all its features was very comfortable. We went to fish and relax and got a lot of both. Mr Olson made our stay outstanding. We are looking forward to a return trip.
