Gorgeous view and beautiful cabin!

  • 4 of 5

We had an excellent stay! Really, the pictures of the property do not do it justice! It exceeded our expectations in terms of location, comfort and overall condition of the property. Very well maintained and beautifully decorated.

Our only issue was that the house phones didn't work and with no cell reception and wifi available, we were very disconnected from the outside world. Lucky we didn't have any emergencies.

The driveway to the cabin is very steep and tricky to climb with a minivan. I'm not sure we'd take a chance to go there in winter, but it does look like the perfect place to spend time in the summer! Our kids really enjoyed the experience and can't wait to go there again!!

An EXCELLENT choice!

  • 5 of 5

Chris and his sweet bride gave up their family vacation for our last minute rental request. We have a cabin in the area - but a funeral in the family required that we host more than could be fit in our little cabin. Chris was willing to work with us - a testament to his character and generosity. Each night we gathered together at the beautiful dinning table and the luxurious living room to share stories, and talk together. It was the perfect therapy. We even found a chance to enjoy the hot tub and a quick swim in the lake. The driveway was a bit tight - but Chris has assured me that he's working on making that better for future guests. The beds and the furnishing were perfect. We felt like royalty! Loved the shower downstairs. I slept in one of the main floor bedrooms and my parents slept in the master room. We will be renting this cabin again in the future. Chris was a great guy to work with and this cabin is FANTASTIC!

Get away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

This house is just amazing! Beautifully appointed with comfortable furniture and tasteful decor. The layout was perfect for our 3 generation family vacation (ages 20 months to 65+).

Our little ones adored the loft area and all the cute stuffed bears, moose, etc. We were glad we brought baby gates to block off the stairways though, as our little ones could climb up and down the steps all day! The living room is spacious and very comfortable as is the downstairs family room which fills the space between the 2 Queen rooms. We enjoyed the deck and the hot tub with the breathtaking view of the lake and mountains...which can also be viewed from inside the house through the walls of windows. The huge porch swing on the lower deck was a nice place to chill, as well.

We rented a boat for one day and had a blast fishing and swimming in this remarkably clean lake. The water is crystal clear! We also swam from the dock. If you come here with little ones, be sure to bring life vests for them as they are required on the dock...this lake is very deep!

We also spent one day at Great Smoky Mountain NP...(a 90 minute drive) and hiked part of the Appalachian Trail.

Come prepared to cook and/or grill as the nearest eatery is at the marina across the lake and gocery stores are not close.

The driveway is very steep with 2 switchbacks, but we had no trouble getting up to the house driving a sedan and a minivan.

If you truly want to GET AWAY FROM IT ALL, this is the place for you! Very peaceful and relaxing...we hated to leave and plan on returning some day.

Lost Moose Lodge on Lake with boat slip

  • 5 of 5

The Log Home was very clean and well maintained except faucet in downstairs bathroom fell off first night. Otherwise everything in cabin in good condition and very neat and well decorated. Beds very comfortable. View was gorgeous. Boat slip was real convenient and swimming off the dock with ladder was fun for the kids. We visited nearby waterfalls, went rafting, gem mining and spend a day at Smoky Mt. National Park. Pamplets and owner guide booklet very helpful. The log home had enough room for 3 families to spread out and the kids enjoyed the upstairs loft. The only trouble we had was the private road to the cabin was very steep with three curves. Tried to get up the road the first day and kept slipping too close to edge. So kept the car parked at bottom of the hill.

I would recommend this vacation log home to friends but be sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the private road or AAA service. This road was not described in the property listing.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and comments on how to improve our house, I was up and took care of the items you mentioned. For those who are interested in staying, please call to discuss, the driveway is passable with 2 wheel vehicles but you are in the mountains, and I would never want you to NOT enjoy our house.

Incredible stay

  • 4 of 5

Took the 4 kids to the mountains and had a wonderful relaxing stay! No Internet was great since our 17 year old daughter loves to text a ton:).

We even went boating, biking and out son actually caught a pretty big bass on the docks below even though we were told fishing in April was slim to none.
