Best Family Spring Break Ever

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our 2 teenagers rented this home for spring break. The pictures do not do it justice!! Everything in the home was top of the line, from the dishwasher to the towels. We have rented many homes from VRBO and this one was by far the nicest one we have stayed in. The pool was truly heated to 90 degrees and the hot tub was wonderful. The outdoor seating, 2 televisions, and pocket sliding glass doors allowed us to live outside for the week. The kitchen had an open pantry for our groceries and everything we needed to make our own meals. Publix grocery store was within walking distance from the house. There was an extra refrigerator in the garage so our beverages were always cold. We enjoyed waterfront dining almost every night on a nice table and 4 chairs by the dock. We rented the boat with the home and were so glad we did! There was a GPS and maps to help us navigate the canals and other waterways. We took 2 trips to Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach. It was a much nicer way to travel than fighting all the traffic! Mary Jane and her husband Kevin live next door and manage the home and boat. They were wonderful--very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed but we never felt like we were being watched. There were 2 bicycles in the garage that my husband and I rode to the marina a couple of mornings for coffee. Several fishing poles, tackle, and beach chairs were in the garage. I could go on and on...it was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to return. Thank you!!!

Loved this property

  • 5 of 5

This was an absolute gem. We loved the house , pool and hot tub. It was very clean and adequately stocked.

Convenient to shopping, Fort Myers, beaches, and wonderful restaurants. Mary, the manager was a big help with directing us to area hot spots and restaurants. Thank you!!!

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this property was perfect for our family of four! The house is spacious, well stocked and immaculately cared for. The furniture, bedding and high quality appliances were like new...which even made cooking and laundry an enjoyable part of the vacation! :) The pool and hot tub were a huge hit with both the kids and adults...both set to the perfect temp for the 80+ degree late-December weather (we hear we got lucky with a warmer than usual week). We were glad we opted for renting the boat with the property; although an older vessel, it was perfect for our needs...a good size, reliable, and so convenient with the dock right out back. I'd say it takes about 20 minutes to get from the house to open water, but even trolling through the canals looking at the beautiful houses was fun. The marina/fuel station is just outside the canal area, and is manned by super friendly gentlemen (you can expect fuel to be at least $1 more a gallon than at the local gas station). We took the boat to Cayo Costa (which is accessible only by boat but a fair distance away...at least a 60 minute boat ride) and found lots of shells to include sand dollars...we also saw numerous dolphin along the way. We spent a day looking for shells on Sanibel as well and ate at the quaint Grandma Dot's restaurant at the marina (note: there are tolls going to Sanibel and back to Cape Coral, about $8 for each round trip so cash is handy). The boys enjoyed their charter fishing excursion with Captain George Howell--they caught at least 9 different species including a shark on their 4 hour excursion (they estimate they caught about 40 fish, but you know how fishermen can tell a tale!). Lastly, Mary Jane and Kevin the property managers next door were superb...always available when we had questions but never intrusive. If/when we return to Cape Coral, this will definitely be our top property pick!

P.S. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and accessories I needed (we ate most meals at the house) but if you are a baker, you may want to bring your own cookie sheet.

Comfort and convenience

  • 5 of 5

Stayed a week in November as a family get together. House is well located with great access and set in a quiet suburban street. First impressions are good and this follows through with a well appointed interior and very good pool patio and hot tub area that all make for a comfortable stay. First time in Cape Coral which is a good base for beaches restaurants shopping or whatever. Essentials within five to ten minutes walk. Arrival and departure are easily arranged. Will we visit again? Almost certainly.

Lovely house, great location

  • 5 of 5

We can't fault the house, very clean and comfortable. The house manager, Mary Jane was a mind of information very friendly and helpful. We hired the boat for a few days and had a great time and saw dolphins, manatees and a sea turtle.

Needless to say we will be back just as soon as we can.

Excellent vacation

  • 5 of 5

We can't believe that it is only just over a week since we arrived back in England. We still keep talking about how wonderful our holiday was. The house was easy to find and was exactly what we expected. It was exceptionally clean. It even seemed clean at the end of our stay!

The house manager and the handyman were both friendly and gave us tips on places to eat and things to do.

We couldn't fault anything and loved staying there. Even the weather was good to us apart from the odd thunderstorm that we know to expect in Florida in August.

Having two teenage sons the internet was important and didn't let us down unlike in some properties we have rented before.

Overall a great place to stay.
