a million dollar view with rustic accommodations

  • 3 of 5

The exterior and the interior of the house need serious attention. There is so much wood rot that I worried a bit about mold. However, the view from the deck is incredible. I have never been so close to the water; when the tide is in, it is literally 25 steps to water.

My family enjoyed the week even though we "roughed" it. I contributed some glass wine glasses. Sometimes plastic just doesn't cut it.

I did have to do a quick clean upon arrival too. I wrote the word HELP on a surface covered in dust and pet hair. I wiped every surface, window ledges, tables, counters, etc. We cleaned the trash left under the sofas and cleaned all windowed surfaces. I left the place far cleaner than I found it.

A big positive, the shower downstairs was such a treat. After a long day on the beach, it was lovely to take a warm shower before heading upstairs.

We attempted to contact the owner to share these concerns, but he didn't call back. I think the place is quaint and with a little TLC could be improved. The access to the beach and the view really made up for the deficiencies.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the input and I apologize for any inconvenience. The home is normally very clean and I can assure you that there is no dangerous mold in the home. In the future we will make sure that there is enough time between guest to allow for an adequate cleaning. We are always budgeting for improvements as being on the ocean can be a harsh environment. Most recently a new stairway was completed and we are looking to add new siding and windows to the exterior. Feel free to check back next year, perhaps we can improve your experience.

Love it !

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at this rental for the last two years in October. I obviously love it, since I keep coming back. I would stay here more often, except that it is not available when I want to come down. That's because it is such an amazing rental for the price. I plan on coming back again this October. The home is in a perfect location, the views are fantastic. The deck is wonderful, and we spent all our time there. The house sleeps at least 8 close friends or family. The best feature is it is pet friendly, and so is the beach. The owner George is wonderful to work with, and we plan and coming back every year. Can't wait to come back, and I am sorry I took so long to write this review George. Thanks again for your hospitality.

Best Place

  • 5 of 5

I was one of five women that stayed for a girls weekend. I have to say this was the best weekend of my life. The house is beautiful, the view was unbelievable, the town is perfect. Seashells as far as the eye can see. I have told everyone that will listen about my trip. Can't wait to do it again. Will definiatly come back.
