About Carrie Mahlum
We live in Clovis, Ca. My husband Steve and I have four kids and love to travel to the beach whenever time permits. Our daughter attends Cal Poly. This is our second home and we love to share it with others for their enjoyment.
Carrie Mahlum purchased this Condo in 2002
Why Carrie Mahlum chose Oceano
We purchased this home in order to give ourselves somewhere to take the kids on vacation and make memories to last a lifetime.
What makes this Condo unique
We love that this home is large enough that we all have our own space. We also love that it sits on the beach with full ocean views.

We loved this house! It has great views of the ocean and plenty of space for everyone. Convenient parking.
We were informed prior to our stay to bring soap, paper products, beach towels and hair dryers. One issue was the garage parking had a sign to move cars on Friday for garage cleaning but then the sign was changed to Monday without any notice. The homeowner was unaware of this and will speak to the homeowner association. We loved watching the cars and RVs on the beach. Some have complained that it was too noisy but we loved it!
Overall we had a wonderful time celebrating our daughter’s graduation from Cal Poly. A quick 20 minute drive away!
Great location! Clean and spacious but outdated house!
Enjoyed a great time with family over spring break! Kids loved being able to just walk out the back door onto the beach! The house was spacious and fit our needs perfectly, but seemed tired and outdated. The sliding patio doors are very difficult to operate.
The parking underneath the building was nice, but didn’t work for our trucks pulling trailers with quads. Fortunately the lot across the street had plenty of room, but be prepared to pay and extra $20/day!
The beautiful view was the highlight!! Second floor living room is the best real estate in the house!
Rooms have lots of great storage space & good size kitchen; big windows with nice view. Parking for 2 cars (other cars are paid parking across back alley); bring your own towels, maybe extra blankets for beds. Bring your own shampoo & shower soap; Bring your favorite kitchen supplies, if you plan to do lots of cooking. Nice coffee shop next door to unit; located right at driving entrance to beach.
Thank you for your review.
We provide plenty of towels which are in each bathroom with extras in each cabinet (maybe you didn't see them?). You are asked to provide your own beach towels. There are also extra blankets in each of the closets. Guests do need to provide their own shampoo and conditioner, but shower soap is located in each of the showers. The kitchen is fully stocked, but yes, if you are a chef and love to use a specific knife you should probably bring that if you can't cook without it. If there is anything missing from our kitchen our guests are always welcome to purchase any basic items and they will be reimbursed. Items can come and go without notice! Also, guests are always welcome to communicate if something isn't located. We are at your service. You didn't mention these things during your stay so I wasn't aware. So glad you that you enjoyed the big windows and view!
Our family very much enjoyed our Christmas at this beautiful beach house
Location was AWESOME!!
Just returned from a three night stay. We were there for my annual girl's trip. Originally was suppose to be eight girls, but ended up being six. Plenty plenty of room! House was perfect and the views were amazing to wake up to every day. It is right next to the Oceano Dunes and is very busy with cars, campers etc. but did not bug me one bit! Loved the action. Very quick Uber ride to Pismo Beach. Carrie the owner was very fast in responding to any questions or concerns I had. Highly recommend.
Loved having your group! Don't hesitate to reach out for future stays!
Spacious but needs a deep cleaning
The house is spacious & right on the beach. I think it’s more like a condo, it’s connected to a few other houses that share the same garage. I could tell that they were all rented out by airbnb. My first impression was that it was a bit outdated & needed a deep cleaning. There was mold in the showers, all of the glassware was disgusting & the patio seemed forgotten about. For such a high price you’d think you wouldn’t have to worry about cleaning all your dish ware before using them. Its definitely a rental, not well taken care of or loved. It is a huge beautiful house with access to ATV rentals & bonfires on the beach. The location was good, only a short drive to the shops. I probably would never rent here again. It didn’t feel comfortable for my family due to all the dirt & rust.
Bonfires are allowed on beach
