About Pete Vega
Pete Vega Manatee Property Mgmt, Our new family lives just outside of Orlando which is approximately 1.5 hours from Crystal River. We are all Florida natives; Pete grew up in Inverness which is the town next to our vacation condos and why we chose Crystal River. We like the laid back sleepy little town feel and fell in love with the areas springs, specifically Three Sisters. What started as a weekend get a way has turned into a wonderful place we are happy to share.
Pete Vega purchased this Condo in 2000
Why Pete Vega chose Springs at Kings Bay
We chose Crystal River because I grew up close to the springs and remember swimming in them as a kid. I enjoyed frequent field trips and summer camps to see the manatees and swim in the springs. My first scuba trip was in King Springs, around the corner from our place. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we have....
What makes this Condo unique
Although the City officials do not want visitors for less than 90 nights and has outlawed vacation rentals, our property is Grandfathered in. Crystal River is a quiet little town with plenty to offer. The springs are beautiful and less than a 2 minute paddle from our dock. On any given morning you can see manatees and dolphin swim by our dock, boat or paddle to waterfront restaurants and enjoy the nature preserve in Kings Bay. A 7 mile scenic boat ride takes you to the Gulf of Mexico where there is fantastic fishing, nature viewing and in the summer, scallop harvesting. You will enjoy near by Homosassa Wildlife Park and Indian burial grounds which leave a lot to explore. Golf courses, bike/hiking trails close will allow for an active vacation if desired.

Apartment on the River!
This was our first stay at Driftwood Apartments but will definitely be back. Three Sister Springs is so close you could swim there without a kayak, thankfully they are provided. The apartment was clean with linens, towels and all the stuff needed in the kitchen just like at home. There is a small strip of shops not far with a Winn Dixie and Dollar Tree for all your supplies. Check out the Chinese takeaway Chop Stix! This apartment is all about location, it couldn’t have been more convenient! Being right on the canal was a great way to wake up each morning, take your coffee out to the dock and really get away from it all. We had a great week at Crystal River and will definitely be returning.
Love the location!
The property was clean and neat, and the proximity to Three Sisters Springs cannot be beat!
Location Location Location
This property is in a prime location. The house was super clean, and the neighbors were really friendly. I wish that my family and I could have stayed longer. I would absolutely stay there again. The kayaks were an added bonus too. It’s less than 5 min kayak ride to three sisters , and a nice to hunter springs. Can’t wait to go back.
A Great Place !
We loved staying at this property. It was incredibly close to the spring, restaurants, store, and well, everything. The kayaks were BIG plus! I really liked sitting on the back porch near the canal watching the sun set. The neighbors were so friendly .. it was like home but with a nicer view..
I'd give it 6 stars if I could.
So much more than I expected
Let me be honest here, looking at the pictures I wasn't sure the condo was exactly what I was used to, it seemed like maybe it was a little dated. It is an older property, but the quality of the lighting, fixtures etc. was outstanding. You can tell that as the owner maintains it he updates it constantly with the latest and excellent quality items.
We brought our own kayaks and had no trouble at all wheeling them down to the water. We parked our trailer on the grass in the side yard next to 2 other trailers, and hauled our kayak paddles and stuff into the back yard behind the fence. The next day we took everything down to our dock and that was where it stayed. Much to my surprise, we had our own covered dock that was ideal for our kayaks. Honestly, I want to own a place like this for vacations!
The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were very nice, and the kitchen had everything you could need.
The first day we kayaked over to Three Sisters, and that was such a blast. Maybe 10 minutes away? The water was beautiful, temperatures were perfect (in November). My problem now is I'm ruined for anywhere else! The only thing I would do different, was stay longer.:)
Thanks for the 5 star review and your fine description of our property. We work hard to keep the property well maintained and clean and try to include all the luxuries of home. The real appeal of this location is how close you are to Three Sisters (this guest refereed to 10 minutes away?? we are 150 yards so it should take no more than 2-3 minutes to paddle to the Springs). each unit has its own floating dock and easy to put in our kayaks or the boat or kayaks you bring from home...Pete
Quiet time on the river...
The plus is that this property is very close to three sisters springs and places to kayak... The property owner provided kayaks which was really nice. Fun to go out on the river! The sliding door was very hard to open and close. Replace some of the broken blinds in the master bedroom... and provide a broom and dust pan. I like to sweep everyday. Otherswise it was a quiet, enjoyable stay... restaurants ... Cajun jimmys seafood seller, the Crab Plant, Margarita Breeze, and Grannies.
Thanks for leaving your review....to reply to this guests concerns....the sliding glass door is only hard to open when a guest opens so forcefully that it comes off the tracks (very simple to put back on), if we would have been notified we could have told them how to fix or sent our local maintenance man over...we have a broom and dust pan in the closet under that stairs if this guest would have only looked or asked....we do provide frequently asked questions and will respond if there is an issue or concern....Pete
The City of Crystal River is built around Kings Bay, a manatee
sanctuary popular for snorkling or scuba diving in the winter when
manatees are in abundance. Summer offers a warm area for all types of
water sports including snorkeling, Scuba and great fishing with the
constant cool waters from the springs to keep
you comfortable. Easy access to the Gulf of Mexico for year round
fishing and when in season, scalloping. Fast becoming an area known
for ecotourism with a large number of nature trails, parks and a
canoe trail. For the Golfing enthusiasts we have 9 courses enough to
keep you busy all week. Lots of shopping for the bargain hunters.
Close enough for day trips to Orlando and Tampa for all the major
