Wonderful Casa and excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We rented this Casa in 2015 and then again in 2016. Each year we shared this house with another couple. While we tended to socialize in the bright very well equipped kitchen/familyroom once upstairs we had our private quarters. Our bedrooms were located at opposite ends of the house with a sitting room and smaller third bedroom between the two main bedrooms.. This house is very well equipped and has purified water, charcoal BBQ, washer/ dryer, wifi, Netflix , Apple TV and lots of towels! The housekeeper who comes three times a week is wonderful,. She is extremely helpful, caring and always smiling and she taught us to make great rice! After a long day we enjoyed sitting on the rooftop garden admiring the view and enjoying the peace and listening to the sounds of the neighbourhood.

This house is in Colonia San Antonia and close to most of our activities as iit is walking distance to the Jardin and to Ancha San Antonia, 2 blocks to a bus stop ( cost 5 paseos) or a 35 paseo taxii ride to anywhere within SMA. One of our favourite morning rituals was to buy freshly squeezed manadarin orange juice at a fruit store just a few blocks away.

Without a doubt, we would love to stay in this casa again.

Perfect Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My sister, husband and I were ready for a get-a-way and did we ever pick a perfect home!

The location was a simple $3.00 taxi ride to the plaza, the rooftop view was beautiful and the house was spacious yet cozy. Lupe was our housecleaner but she was more than that. Anything we needed, she was ready to help with a smile! I know that there are so many things to do and see in San Miguel, but after a few hours exploring, most nights we preferred to sit on the rooftop with our margaritas and guacamole and listen to the church bells and sounds of San Miguel. Thank you for the wonderful stay and we look forward to another visit!

Quality & comfort in SMA

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Casa Buena Vida was delightful. In the San Antonio neighborhood, the house is just a few blocks from great shopping and wonderful restaurants. After a morning of exploring San Miguel it was nice to come home and relax, take a siesta, and get ready to go out for an evening of more fun. We would certainly love to stay in Casa Buena Vida again. Wonderful rooftop patio with great views of the Centro cathedrals. Having WiFi was great! We really appreciated having such a beautiful, comfortable & welcoming home for our week in SMA.

Casa Buena Vida - The Best!!

  • 5 of 5

We have loved our stays in Casa Buena Vida—in fact, we have rented the house in the fall for four consecutive years. Depending on what was going on in our lives, we stayed from two to four months each time and enjoyed every minute in this charming and well-appointed casa. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable. Because of the lovely plant-filled atrium the house has an exceptional amount of light. The upper terrace offers a delightful view of the Parroquia, the central church sitting majestically on its hilltop—a glorious view day or night. The location is just right—an easy walk to the center of town. There are restaurants within comfortable walking distance. From the house it is only a two block walk to a bus stop and you can often hail taxis from the front door. The owners are so pleasant to work with and have always been helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend that you stay in this charming house in this captivating town.

casa buena vida

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at Casa Buena Vida for the month of March 2013 and were very much at home at this lovely residence. With three bedrooms, ample closets in each bedroom and comfortable furniture throughout it met and exceeded all our expectations. The house is well maintained, immaculate, very bright and open, with a lovely roof top deck, a great place to see the gorgeous sunsets and enjoy an afternoon siesta on the loungers. The kitchen is well equipped, lots of pots and pans of good quality and dishes for all our needs. The bedrooms, kitchen and living room are all equipped with propane heaters that are very efficient at warding off any chills during the evening hours. Wi-Fi was most welcome as we were able to talk to our grand children on face time any time we wished, and we were able to keep up with their many activities and did not feel so far away from family. The house is ideally located mid way between the Jardin and the Instituto, both of which are in easy walking distance. Cab fare in the city is most reasonable if you feel the need. The new Mega supermarket is an ideal grocery shopping location and has everything you could need. I particularly enjoyed the local people in the neighbourhood who were most friendly and eager to exchange pleasantries, the children are adorable and the family atmosphere is pervasive. Everyone seems to be enjoying life and happy. Eating places abound, the food is excellent and the service is superb. San Miguel is rated one of the top ten places in the world to retire, is a world heritage site and an absolute wonder to visit. Casa Buena Vida, equipped with its many books, creature comforts, and assorted amenities is a destination you should seriously consider. I know we will be returning.

We Loved Casa Buena Vida

  • 5 of 5

We spent an absolutely wonderful week in San Miguel at the Casa Buena Vida. The home is comfortable, interesting, roomy, beautifully decorated, and furnished with everything possible for feeling perfectly at home for a week or months. A special surprise was the abundance of books shelved all over the house: art and history, spanish language guides, area travel guides, best-sellers past and present, classics--everything for readers. The books came in very handy, as one can only hike the charming hilly streets and eat the specatular food for so many hours a day and night--one must also take the time to sit back to read, enjoying a cool refreshment, on one of the FOUR enclosed outdoor spaces on the property.

And, as other reviews have stated, Lupe the housekeeper is a very good at her job.

We can't wait to get back to San Miguel and Casa Buena Vida.
