About Christopher Bean
Our family began vacationing on Manomet Point in the 1940s when our grandparents first rented and then purchased The Fellows House in the mid-1940s. My parents purchased the property next door, The Old Snow House, and in my 20s I purchased The Bradford House. We have been renting this property for over 25 years -- and renovating the property each year to continue to improve the guest experience. It has been a labor of love and a joy to share with other families.
Christopher Bean purchased this House in 1988
Why Christopher Bean chose White Horse Beach
The Bradford House is a charming property -- filled with the calm of quiet summertime: gentle breezes, the faint sound of seagulls, the smell of the ocean air and the banter of birds singing summertime songs. The house radiates a special feel -- a positive energy -- as its walls have only known the sounds of children's laughter, quiet moments of adults reading on the porch and family moments of storytelling around the nighttime fireplace. It rests during the winter and awakens again in the Spring, refreshed and eager to welcome a new season of guests!
What makes this House unique
Views, views and views. Privacy with a lovely backyard with a manicured lawn, stone wall and private tree-enclosed parking area. The porch is iconic -- perched above the surrounding properties, you will feel like you're in a birds nest overlooking the activities of the beach and ocean ... yet, easy access, just steps away to the beach by an association set of stairs or a gentle walk down the boat ramp!

Perfect beach house
Totally love this home. My family has been staying in this property for the past 18 years. Hard to believe. Could use a bit of up dating. I am sure Christopher already has his plans in place to do so. Would love to stay again next year.
Hot, buggy and ill equipped household
We happened to be there during one of the hottest days on record and it was unbearably hot. This was not the fault of the home owner. It was so buggy outside you pretty much had to stay inside. Again, not the fault of the homeowner. But...the fact that linens were not provided should have been more clearly identified in the description. We had to immediately purchase sheets, bath towels and beach towels for 8 people. We forgot to buy kitchen towels and bath hand towels and of course there were none. There are also no hooks in this house. No where to put a wet towel. There are 4 beach chairs available for use...but they are really too nice for the beach and too heavy to carry. The house is NOT furnished in Pottery Barn furniture. If one random chair was a pottery barn hand me down you can’t say the House is furnished that way. The house supposedly sleeps 8...I guess it technically does but the house is pretty small for 8 people for a week.
This review is outrageous. Let's address these issues. #1: Guests typically prefer hot, summer weather when vacationing at the beach. We can't imagine the review had the week been rainy. #2: There are hooks in every bedroom and there is a clothes line in the backyard for the purpose of drying towels and there is an electric dryer at the property. #3: We now provide linen and towel service (however, last year it was available upon request and these guests never requested the service and when they went out to purchase towels they "forgot" kitchen and hand towels and fault us for this omission in their review above.). #4: We are faulted for our beach chairs being "too nice for the beach." Guest LOVE the Cape Cod Beach Chairs and for those wanting a lighter weight option, we have added Tommy Bahama chairs and umbrella. #5: In 30 years of renting this property, guests delight in the property being open, airy and roomy for larger families - the house sleeps 8 people very comfortably and the bedrooms are comfortable in size and decor. The living area is open concept and the porch is abundantly large! #6: The property IS decorated with Potterybarn branded furniture AND Potterybarn-like styled furnishings which guests rave about year-after-year. #7: The interesting thing about being at the beach (and having grown up and lived there for 35 years of my life) is the ability to sit out on the porch without bugs or flying critters at night. It is unfortunate that one guest can misrepresent this property and create a false narrative about our beach home. Guests return year-after-year and rave about the Bradford House. We've owned, restored and invested our heart and soul into this property for over 30 years. We hope you'll read the other reviews that accurately reflect the property.

We are thrilled to know that you and your children enjoyed your stay at our family beach home! It’s a special place. Hope you will return again in the future for another seaside retreat!
Great vacation home!
Our family loved staying in the Bradford house. The porch view is unreal and can't be beaten at sunset. The beach is an easy 2-3 minute walk and is super private. We loved it.
best week ever!
We have been renting this beach house for several years and we love it. There is plenty of room for everyone -the house is well maintained and has everything one needs for a great week. Views are tremendous and we are all looking forward to next year.
