About Christopher Bean
Our family began vacationing on Manomet Point in the 1940s when our grandparents first rented and then purchased The Fellows House in the mid-1940s. My parents purchased the property next door, The Old Snow House, and in my 20s I purchased The Bradford House. We have been renting this property for over 25 years -- and renovating the property each year to continue to improve the guest experience. It has been a labor of love and a joy to share with other families.
Christopher Bean purchased this House in 1988
Why Christopher Bean chose White Horse Beach
The Bradford House is a charming property -- filled with the calm of quiet summertime: gentle breezes, the faint sound of seagulls, the smell of the ocean air and the banter of birds singing summertime songs. The house radiates a special feel -- a positive energy -- as its walls have only known the sounds of children's laughter, quiet moments of adults reading on the porch and family moments of storytelling around the nighttime fireplace. It rests during the winter and awakens again in the Spring, refreshed and eager to welcome a new season of guests!

Hot, buggy and ill equipped household
We happened to be there during one of the hottest days on record and it was unbearably hot. This was not the fault of the home owner. It was so buggy outside you pretty much had to stay inside. Again, not the fault of the homeowner. But...the fact that linens were not provided should have been more clearly identified in the description. We had to immediately purchase sheets, bath towels and beach towels for 8 people. We forgot to buy kitchen towels and bath hand towels and of course there were none. There are also no hooks in this house. No where to put a wet towel. There are 4 beach chairs available for use...but they are really too nice for the beach and too heavy to carry. The house is NOT furnished in Pottery Barn furniture. If one random chair was a pottery barn hand me down you can’t say the House is furnished that way. The house supposedly sleeps 8...I guess it technically does but the house is pretty small for 8 people for a week.
Great house ,great beach has two young children and they loved it.
Great house ,great beach had two young children with us and they had a blast
We are thrilled to know that you and your children enjoyed your stay at our family beach home! It’s a special place. Hope you will return again in the future for another seaside retreat!
Great vacation home!
Our family loved staying in the Bradford house. The porch view is unreal and can't be beaten at sunset. The beach is an easy 2-3 minute walk and is super private. We loved it.
best week ever!
We have been renting this beach house for several years and we love it. There is plenty of room for everyone -the house is well maintained and has everything one needs for a great week. Views are tremendous and we are all looking forward to next year.
Fantastic property, breathtaking views!
7 of us got together at this property for a weekend. The property was very clean and well maintained. The view from the house of the beach was simply breath taking. You're literally a few steps away from a beautiful beach. The closest grocery store and CVS is is about a mile away, so it was easy to get any supplies if we ran out.
Additionally, Christoper was very professional and friendly, and responded promptly to any questions or concerns. I highly recommend this place for anyone who's looking to have a relaxing time near the beach.
A Week at the Bradford House
We have spent several summers at the Bradford House in Manomet. One of the "Grande Dames" of the beach, it is a fabulous place to spend a week. The kitchen is large and well appointed with all the modern appliances that would suit any taste. For the constantly connected there is WiFi available as well as cable. The house opens to a large porch with comfortable rockers and a stunning view that overlooks the beach and the ocean. Many a ship can be seen on the horizon crossing to the Cape Cod Canal. We have spent many an evening with a glass of wine watching the beautiful sunsets over the ocean. The beach is right across the street and is easily accessible down the boat ramp. The house has 5 bedrooms that are lovely and well appointed; one can hear the waves as you fall asleep in the comfortable beds. There is one bedroom on the ground floor with an attached bath that is very useful for the group that has either an older person who isn't comfortable going up stairs or has a younger family with young children that are up in the night. They can have the downstairs to themselves without waking the upstairs sleepers. The bathrooms are updated and tastefully decorated. An outdoor shower is by the back door and is great for getting all that beach sand off. Also a wonderful convenience is the washer and dryer that is available. The Lobster Pound is up the street and has the freshest seafood around which is a culinary delight when grilled! They will also cook your lobsters and steamers for you so you can enjoy that shore dinner without the mess! The town of Plymouth has lots to offer for those days when you need a break from the beach. A short drive up the street brings you to Dunkin Donuts, Stop and Shop and a liquor store for all those necessities or forgotten items. We love our week at the Bradford House and can't wait for our summer stay!
The property is minutes away from excursion boats to Provincetown, whale watching, fishing trips, and dinner cruises. Golfing is minutes away at Pine Hills, White Cliffs, Atlantic, Waverly Oaks and many of the newest and most acclaimed courses in the country! Cape Cod and the Vineyward are easy day-trips and Boston is an easy ride by car or rail into Boston's South Station. Downtown Plymouth, the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock are just 15 mintues away. Biking trails are abundant -- including the Cape Cod Rail Trail and the Cape Cod Canal biking & walking trail. The Manomet Conservation Center, with nature trails and an interactive learning center, is just minutes away by foot.
Fresh, daily seafood and lobster is a simple walk to the Lobster Pound -- a village-style fish market located at the tip of Manomet Point. Village shops and amenities are located just one mile from the property. And, if you like fresh, seasonal vegetables, herbs and cut flowers, Holmes Farm, a local agricultural cooperative, is just a short walk down the road!
