Great for relaxation

  • 4 of 5

The description was accurate about amenities. The location is spectacular, however can be very challenging to get to if you are arriving after dark. Even our GPS had no idea where we were once we got off the main road and if you are not driving a larger vehicle you really need to be careful while driving. Of course, this is likely part of the attraction for some folks! The scenery and view was spectacular and worth a thousand photographs.

The property was clean and well-maintained. Extremely quiet and peaceful, we slept beautifully, unless there is a party next door or the resident goose starts squawking. But nothing a good pair of earplugs can't fix.

The owners were very friendly and easygoing and provided good customer service. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a real "getaway from it all". Since it is challenging to get to and from this property, I would not necessarily recommend it as a base for sight-seeing in the area. But I would recommend it as a top-notch location for relaxing, and unwinding, and in good weather, going on hikes around the surrounding hills. We hiked up to a medieval tower and church nearby (on great recommendation from the owner) for a great sunset and view. For me, this would be the perfect place for a group of friends or family to stay together in a beautiful location, but with some degree of privacy since there are several different units. Our owner was English speaking and very helpful. We were not there long enough to partake in the offerings such as cooking classes, from the owners, but activities like that which involve spending time together and enjoying a true Tuscan experience (ie food, wine, olive oil, etc) are what would make this location the perfect spot.

  • It is wonderfully located in Tuscany, 25min from Siena, 75 from Florence. Set just outside Asciano, a little Etruscan and Roman town, where several artistic and historical sites are preserved. Nearby are the noteworthy Abbey of Monteoliveto Maggiore and the Thermal Baths of Rapolano.
