Beautiful & Tranquil!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the cabin for our anniversary. It was amazing! We loved sitting on the back porch and sitting on the swing. Listening to the stream outside the bedroom window lulled us to sleep. The bed was incredibly comfortable! There are many things to do around the cabin, but most of all we loved relaxing in this serene cabin. Thank you!

Remote relaxing hideaway, yet close to all the action

  • 5 of 5

Before you book, know that you will need a car capable of climbing steep hills, tight turns, and traversing gravel/dirt roads! But all that is worth it, because once you come around the bend to the cabin peeking out of the manicured landscape, you've found a safe place. The cabin is, in a word, perfect. It has everything you could want in a relaxing getaway: a hammock, a fire pit, rocking chairs, large living spaces, a screened in back porch with a swing, next to a babbling brook.

The bed was huge and very comfortable, we need to find out where they bought those pillows! The kitchen is beautiful, I wish we had stayed longer to be able to actually use it and cook. It has a cute eclectic collection of dish and glassware, along with small appliances to use like a crock pot and waffle maker. We had no cell phone service (Sprint & AT&T), which was just fine with us, and we never turned on either of the 2 TVs. We just sat out back for hours, listening to the water, the rain, the wind, and the frogs and crickets. It was an amazing place to be near nature but with all the comforts of home.

As for checking in and out, Barbara met us at the door with the key which we traded for the balance on the weekend, and we left it in a secure location on the way out. It couldn't have been easier to come and go as we pleased. She was very responsive throughout the whole process, from answering questions, to booking it, to giving good directions. She recommended a lovely dinner spot, the Hideaway Cafe, I would highly suggest checking it out! Live music, great views, good food for good prices, and friendly locals.

The cabin is convenient to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore mansion, it was about a 30 minutes drive. I'm so glad we found this place. We have definitely found our home away from home, and hopefully this will be our anniversary "spot" that we return to year after year!

Quiet, cozy cabin close to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, NC.

  • 4 of 5

We recently enjoyed a visit to Cedar Cabin with our 2 dogs. The cabin was comfortable and up to date. It features a full, modern kitchen with a dishwasher and washer/dryer for clothes. The King bed is comfortable yet firm. As you lie in bed you can enjoy the sound of the mountain stream just outside the window. The roomy bathroom has a double sink that my wife and I both enjoyed having. No taking turns when it came time to brush our teeth! You can enjoy the sounds of nature day and night sitting on a rocker or swing on the screened in back porch. We enjoyed the burbling brook, chirping insects and croaking bullfrog. The outside is nicely landscaped and includes a fire pit. The cabin is conveniently located near the amazing Chimney Rock and beautiful Lake Lure. It is close but less convenient to Black Rock, a quaint mountain town with lots of eating/drinking options. We also visited the hipster town of Asheville, NC for it's mind boggling collection of breweries and restaraunts and the famous Biltmore Mansion. This is where a bit of inconvenience enters the story. Anytime you drive to or from the cabin, you must endure miles of winding country roads. Navigating the narrow roads with multiple switchbacks and hairpin turns , especially at night can be challenging. Plan in extra time for any kind of travel. In conclusion, my wife and I enjoyed our stay at Cedar Cabin and our dogs were almost as comfortable as at home. Thanks, Tony and Barbara.

Great setting with well laid out cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the decks for reading and also had a wonderful time sharing it with a couple of friends for a BBQ dinner one evening. So peaceful to sit outside in the screen porch and hear the tiny waterfall nearby and all of the peepers downstream.

Well laid out cabin with very nice kitchen and lots of space.

Loved the area and eventually even got to enjoy the winding mountain roads. Beautiful base for us as we have friends in Asheville and Hendersonville. We even took a day trip to the awesome bluegrass festival in Wilkesboro called Merlefest.

Lovely cabin in the woods for weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just got back from a lovely weekend away at this cozy cabin in the woods. We found it to be just as described. A full kitchen, comfortable sofas and bed and large bathroom. It had everything we needed. The location was wonderful. Just minutes away from Chimney Rock which provided us with an afternoon of hiking to the rock and then to Hickory Nut Falls. Asheville was close enough for us to go and enjoy touring the city and visiting a number of delicious restaurants.

If we can plan another trip to this area, we hope to stay here again.
