Stan Strickland purchased this house in 2006
We think we've found a great spot on the lake. Just finished an extensive renovation, gutted the entire downstairs and all new floors, new bathrooms, new kitchens! We are so happy to see families enjoy our home, and so many come back year after year.
What people like most about the house aside from it's private location is the two family layout which lets you put the kids upstairs with their own kitchen and bathroom and other family members downstairs or vice versa.
We hit a home run in selecting this property. It was clean, well maintained, modern and very roomy. The furnishings were very nice and new - not the cheap stuff you find in a lot of rentals. The yard was fenced in for the dogs. There are basically two full living areas, one upstairs and one down, each with full kitchens, baths, fireplaces, etc. Very quiet area with perfect waterfront location. The owner, Stan, was also great to work with. The warm, family oriented nature of the house make it a great choice for the holidays. I would definitely stay there again.
Stan was extremely easy to work with and flexible in the booking process. Upon arriving he already had the heat turned on and home was immaculate. Checked in on us several times to make sure our stay was going as planned and gave dining recommedations. The home itself was gorgeous, the interior was well maintained and extremely comfortable. Both common rooms have gas fireplaces and satellite TV. The kitchen was equipped with top of the line appliances. The view of the lake was phenomenal. Home is centrally located and was no more than a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Hot Springs and several other attractions. Will definitely be going back!
Stayed there with family recently for a race weekend. Very convenient location and very nice. We had 3 couples so the layout worked out perfectly!
This house is the most comfortable and relaxing rental we have ever rented. We have rented before and we will be back again. The house has big picture windows all across the back part of it so when you are insid you can still enjoy the lake view. There is not a bad seat in the house. We have rented numerous vacation properties in Hot Springs and other vacation spots. The mountains, the beaches, etc but none of them felt like you were "at home" immediately after arriving. We have a four legged family member that has to attend vacation too. The fenced in back yard is perfect for her and the house itself is on a road that has hardly any traffic on it if we let her out the front to potty., it is a good ways up a hill to the road. We feel perfectly safe here tucked away in paradise. Stan is wonderful to work with and more than accommodating. If a problem arises, he is quick to help you find a solution. I can't say this about a lot of places I've rented from when the owner was five states away. If you are considering this house, do it, you won't regret it. The boat is a must if you can swing it. It adds a whole other dimension to your stay. It's fun fun fun.
We stayed at this house around New Years and had a wonderful time. The house was beautiful, comfortable, cozy, warm, and had great lakefront views. Everyone had their own space to enjoy. There is a particularly nice bathroom upstairs with a huge tub and a shower with beautiful pebble tile floor. The upstairs and downstairs could each be self sufficient units, so this could accommodate a large family quite comfortably.
The kitchens have elegant stainless steel appliances, nice granite countertops, and more than enough cookware. Everything was nice and clean for us.
The backyard stretches down to the lake, and with its southern exposure even in January it was warm and inviting. The landscaping, decks, and exterior furniture were all very nice. The kids loved running around the yard while the adults chatted by the water.
We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again!
We took my mother and grandmother to this property and it was just perfect. We were concerned of the steps and incline to the lake, but the property offered railings for them to get up and down easily. The rental pontoon offered escapes to the water during the hot days which they loved. We did have a little glitch with the boat, but Stan was available to walk us through some "tricks" to get it taken care of quickly. The house was very clean, and offered basic amenities in the kitchen & bathroom. You do need to bring all your cooking supplies such as spices, oils, condiments, foil, etc. As well as all bathroom toiletries. In the heat of the day the A/C was able to cool things down which made the house very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this house to (3) couples or a girls getaway for (6) for those looking for a long weekend at the lake. Thanks again Stan, we can't wait to come back!!
